Vango Venture 500 Tent

I've had this tent for 2 years now, used it 5 times and is fantastic for what i want.(weekends away with the kids)

It goes up really easy, me and my 10 year old daughter do it with no problems. I find putting an extra groundsheet down before putting the tent up a lot better as it stops the cold coming through . Ive never had any problems with leakage

The only problem is 5 people would be a squeeze. If you want more space buy a sun canopy to add on to the tent, I did that this year and its great for storing your stuff and it stops the wet getting into the tent as you have somewhere to put your wet shoes as it always seems to rain when i go camping !!

Well we purchased this tent from go outdoors for a very good price 69.99 for a 5 berth tent!!! it withstands most weathers and doesn't cover to much ground making it easier to set up although with any tent the first setup is quite tricky. there are a couple of quality issues but it will last for a few years and most people replace tents after that amount of time. When looking on the internet It doesn't look that big but it you can stand up in it (just about anyway)

Overall I would recommend this Vango Venture 500 tent to a family as it makes and ideal package and is easy to use. it is a must buy.

We stayed in Cornwall (Mother Ivey's Bay) in high storm contitions in the Vango Venture 500 and we stayed completely dry throughout. Who-ever put his pole through the tent skin must have sharpened the rods because it is as durable as any tent I've stayed in. Good value for money, plenty of space to sleep in and lots of storage space outside of the sleeping area for bags, clothes, food, chairs and room for the kids to play when it's wet outside. I'd strongly recommend this tent for people on a budget or those who don't go camping often. Don't believe the negatives!

vango venture is a great value tent, we have used it with our daughter and there is plenty of room for the 3 of us, even sitting in the porch area in the evening. I think they guy whose poles ripped through there tent must have been at the top of everest as we have always found the tent very sturdy and of good quality. At the price it is an excellent first tent for any couple or if you have a young child.

We bought this tent mainly due to the stand up height (we later realised that standing height in the sleeping area is a false economy) and the large porch.

The tent is a little fiddly to put up due to its height and the cross over design but not something thats an issue after practice.

The main issue i had with this was we snapped a tent rod due to very heavy winds on Skye. Im not sure if its becuase it was faulty or poor design. I.e. The rods are too thin for its height and loves to catch the wind. I will be going back to a tunnel tent as ive never had any issues with this design.

Vango dont warranty the poles either so i couldnt even get my money back for the repair kit and nothing else was damaged.

Vango Venture 500 Tent is a spacious tent but if you find the British evenings chilly, I would suggest you look again. The inner tent doesn't fit to the outer sheet snuggly, so there are gaps all around.

Vango Venture 500 Tent is great for 2 adults staying longer than a weekend and fairly easy to put up with 2 people. Spacious bedroom with excellent headroom and enough height in the porch area to have a small stove and at least 2 people sitting.

Very happy overall with the Vango Venture 500 Tent, amazed we stayed dry to say how much rain we had and it only has the lowest waterproof level out of the Vango range. Would of given it 10/10 if it was a little better in the wind but to say how tall it is, it held up well. Better than allot of other smaller tents on the site.

During a recent trip, the fourth time I've used it, we got a stormy night, well it is summer in Britain. In the night the poles separated and tore through one of their sleeves. The first time I used it some eyelets came off; doesn't affect use of the tent but doesn't instil any confidence either. With hindsight I would buy a shorter tent with a front flap that can be lifted up to form a shelter. With this tent you either have the flap closed or rolled up which just allows rain to stream in. I would not recommend this tent at all.

Nice tent, easy to put up, reliable, good dry /storage area in case of rain, great for a couple going camping wanting space, I can easily put it up by myself although getting second dome pole in can prove difficult.
