Acceptable For A Low Cost Carrier
I decided to write a review about this humble low cost carrier from the Philippines as I have noticed how unfair the written reviews were. I'm not disregarding the bad experiences by other passengers as I have a fair share of bad experiences from Cebu Pacific myself. From delayed flights to arriving a few minutes late in the check in counter that I had to book a new flight and sleep overnight at the airport just to catch the flight. Please bear in mind that Cebu Pacific is a budget airline and not a full airline, it's unfair to base your comparison on what full airlines can offer. A budget airline doesn't have comfort kits, in flight entertainment, in flight meals, business class and first class. However, they do have light meals, drinks and snacks that you have to purchase separately. You can add a proper meal during your booking if you don't want to buy during the flight. You can buy neck pillows and blankets if you want a comfort kit. Low cost carriers are also strict on luggage. They fly a smaller plane, Airbus A320 or Airbus A330, hence a limited space between seats, overhead cabin and check in luggage deck. Cebu Pacific allows 7kg hand carry luggage (small handbag and a small cabin luggage or laptop bag and a small cabin luggage). If you need to check in a bag, you have to pay a little extra depending on how many kg you need. Their check in counters are also very strict with regards to the time: you have to check in 2 hours before your flight if it's international, 45 minutes if your just flying within Philippines. To save your self some time from queuing, you can check in online and print your boarding pass. That way you just have to line up in the online check in counter where you just have to check in your luggage if you have any and have your travel documents verified.
Delayed flights is a common occurrence in the Philippines and a few of these are the airline's fault. Please bear in mind if your flying to the islands, expect a smaller airport terminal with a limited space for boarding/unloading and take off/landing. The air traffic controller in the international airports will have to confirm if there is a space to land and unload passengers on the smaller domestic airport before they can let a flight take off. There's also the engine check, refueling, bad weather--yes, bad weather. I assure you, you would rather delay your flight than risk your life flying during a bad weather. Philippines have torrential rain and strong gale which contributes to difficulty in take off or landing.
Knowing all of these limitations and accepting these limitations will definitely make your experience with Cebu Pacific a pleasant one.
We Were Told To Rebook Our Ticket From Caticlan To
We were told to rebook our ticket from caticlan to Manila as we are 6 minutes late ً, as what they said. We were not late, we were at the check in counter. But they insisted that we are late and boarding is already closed. It was 30 minutes before the plane took off. International flights and big airline companies are waiting even for the last minute but this airline can't, in a local flight. They made us pay as much as what we paid for the Mnl to caticlan and caticlan to Manila. It's like booking a new round trip ticket.
Worst Airline In Philippines
I purchased round trip tickets to Borocay however for some reason my baggage was not allowed on the way back so had to pay an extra 2,000.00 P to bring it back! The hostess was very rude and even though both bags only totaled 19Kg (Less than their 20Kg allowance) She still charged me for 2 bags at 40Kg.There are no in-flight snacks or meals. Our Flight was delayed 3 hours! No compensation for flight delay not even a break on the baggage when returning.!?

I agree 403Henderson! My family had a horrible experienced last December 23, 2014 going to Boracay. I am hopeful your management has to do something with the system. I would like to inform your aviation company due to our concern that make sure that it won't happen again! Delayed is very unreasonable that there is no plane available yet! We follow the policy and rules you had legally written on the agreement. I am really frustrated too when I heard for what had happened to my family looking forward to have fun in our beautiful places in Boracay. My concern was please give your captain and crews more training being polite to all the tourists who come and visit our country. DO NOT make promises to all the passengers that there is no plane yet available in their time. Wait an hour and you will be next!!! What had happened was my family still patiently waiting and listen to your words "TO WAIT"!!!! But I do believe this is really frustrating waiting 6:30am-10:30pm before you let them in on the plane. But your captain just laughed on them. Whom do you think you are guys?? This is really embarrassing to the foreigners who come and visit our beautiful island. If you hear what they said ... This is the first and last time coming here in the Philippines" CEBU Pacific is really suck!!! Also your personnel staff reputation are really low, talking on the phone based on our experienced are really terrible. They have no manners entertaining the clients. Please do something and fix this manpower services. Do not accept more passengers that it wouldn't fit on your plane. This can be fix so easily depends on how you check your online booking rather than focusing to walk in passengers. Please prioritize all the passengers who had booked earlier online instead of taking more walk in passengers. PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT!!!!! This is not right treating people that way...
Unrelialbe - Only Fly With Ceb If You No Other Choice
Our flight was cancelled due to "bad weather". But why could several other planes leave the airport at the same time? The rainy weather was used only as an excuse because the plane arrived a bit too late at Manila airport, and they were too slow to get the plane ready for the next flight in time. But of course - as they could blame the weather, they don´t have to compensate ....
And they even failed to book us on the next day, we had to wait for 2 days in Manila. Of course on our cost. this experience cost us not only a lot of wasted time, but also a lot of money. Thanks Cebupacific!
And this was not my first bad experience with CEB ...
I only feel pity for the girls at the counter - they have to stand all the anger of disappointed customers. The managers who are not able to run this operation properly should get the blame!
Worst Experience Worst Customer Service
Delayed flight due to an aircraft problem?!? Excuse me you could have atleast notified or announced that there was a delay on that particular flight not wait for the customer to reach the check in and be disappointed. Much worst give them false hope that they will be able to or might have a chance to get in to the other flight going to a different airport and get transported to the other airport. Getting in line again trying to be a standby passenger and when you reached that counter theres no more available seat for that other flight, ummm that person just wasted my whole effin time! Just tell me straight the flight is delayed and theres no more available flight even at the other airport. Stop wasting people's precious time, coz its irritating. Standby counter are supervisors seriously they dont even know theyre stuff. No customer service, she saw you there waiting but hey just left you there hanging without saying maam wait a moment or ill be right with you what a snob. So who wouldnt be irritated with this kind of service...
Worst Airline!
If you want to have relaxing vacation without stress, you can be sure that Cebu Pacific airlines will spoil it! I experienced very bad flight delay. Today they overbooked and I didn't get into the flight with my family. Service is bad and slow. I will never use it again.
Cebu Pacific Camiguin-cebu Flight
Cebu Pacific Air is one of the biggest airlines in the Philippines and I really have no idea why. I am from the Philippines and I am frequent traveler and my past experience with Cebu Pacific has never been good. They are most of the times, if not always, delayed. I had a flight once from Hong Kong to Cebu and my flight was delayed for about 4-5 hours and the only thing we got was an explanation that the plane was also delayed in ithe flights before that one, no compensation, na-da.
But by far, the worst experience I had with Cebu Pacific is my suppose to be flight from Camiguin to Cebu. My family arrived in the Camiguin airport only to see it empty and when we got to the gate, the guards simply told us to leave our bags outside and head to the check-in counter so we can be "explained" of the situation. We arrived at the counter and found their staff members just cosily sitting in their chairs, telling people that they have cancelled the flights and they have notified people via phone and e-mail. But as we checked our phones for calls, we didn't receive a call or text and then they told us that maybe they sent us an e-mail but sadly we can't check our e-mail since there was a constant black-out there. Seeing that we can't win either way, we asked them what they are going to do. They simply said to us that there is a flight the next day, so naturally we said that we need to get on that plane but they told us that the flight already fully booked and there was no way for us to get on it and the next flight was on the day after next. We told them that we needed to get back to Cebu as soon as possible but they said that they couldn't do a thing and " It wasn't their fault" but we paid them to get us back, so they had to get us back. They just kept on telling us that they can't do a thing, so we asked them where else can we go to get back to Cebu that day or the next and they told us about a flight in Cagayan the next day on the same time, so we immediately grabbed the chance to get on that flight. But then when we asked, what they are going to do to get us to Cagayan, they simply said that it was all up to us. They would just simply give us our tickets and then we'll be on our own. We had to ride a boat, go on a bus for about 4 hours to get there and find a hotel to stay for the night since there are no other flights that day and they didn't give anything to compensate for the delay they caused to their passengers. Luckily for us, we had no connecting flights but the couple beside us, on the next counter, had a connecting flight to Hong Kong and the Cebu Pacific staff just kept on saying their line of ' It isn't our fault" and those couple had to pay for not showing up on time and I know how expensive those things could be.
To sum it all up, I would never recommend Cebu Pacific to anyone unless they are okay with delays and bad quality of service as long as they get it cheap.
I Recently Went To The Philippines As I Did Loads
I recently went to the Philippines as I did loads of research before I booked one of my flights with Cebu Pacific. I have to admit, I read all the reviews on here, and felt like I shouldn't book any of my flights with them. I was taking a total of 5 flights, 4 of which I booked with Philippine Airlines. The last flight I had no choice, so had to book with Cebu.
I guess it depends on the flight you take, but for me, it was perfectly fine. Basically like Easy Jet. We didn't encounter any problems, in fact our others flights with other airlines had delays, and this was the only flight that left on time.
Would I book with them again? I think I would, but would allow some time just in case it was delayed. As its quite common in the Philippines for flights to be delayed.
Do Not Fly With Cebu
Here is my experience with Cebu Pacific.
The first time I flew with them was a trip from Hong Kong to Boracay. They didn't let me board the airplane because they said I didn't have a return flight from Boracay. I had a future dated flight from Bali to Seoul so how would it be possible for me to not leave Boracay?
The second bad experience I had was when flying from Boracay to Singapore. No where did they say it would cost an additional $10 per kg over 10kg. However flying from Hong Kong to Boracay it was only $4 per kg over 10kg.
Both times I tried contacting customer service and it took at least 30 minutes to reach any representative. On top of that they were extremely rude.
Never again will I be flying Cebu Pacific.
