Expect Your Flight To Be Cancelled!

It seems Tiger Air cancel flights on a whim with no consideration for those affected. I fly domestically for business about 3 times per year. I have never had a cancelled flight with ANY airline except Tiger Air and I have had 3 cancellations in about 6 flights I have booked with that airline! That is a cancellation rate of not less than 50%. What a joke. If you want hassle free travel or need to arrive on time for a connecting flight DO NOT book with Tiger Air. They are a disgrace and should not be allowed to operate.

Worst Airline!

My partner and I booked flights with TigerAir to fly from Brisbane to Sydney on the Thursday afternoon before the long Easter weekend. Three hours before the flight they advised that the flight was cancelled due to engine problems. We called immediately to find out what solutions they were going to offer us and they advised that they had no solutions and would refund our tickets in a month! Not only did we have no flight to Sydney at the beginning of the Easter weekend, but we had to pay an extra $300 to buy flights to Sydney for that evening as well as were 3 hours late arriving at our destination due to having to find another service. I've complained to TigerAir about their service and the fact that they did nothing to help their customers at the start of a very busy weekend, but they don't care and won't offer any compensation for the new flights I had to buy. If you're thinking about flying with TigerAir, don't! It's not worth the savings as ultimately you'll be either delayed, as I have been several times, or have no flight and have to find an alternative solution from your own pocket.

I Must Admit I Was Pleasantly Suprised After Reading Reviews

We travelled From Sydney to Melbourne return On 17 May and I must say that both myself and I were very pleasantly suprised. I used the Tigerair Online cCheckin and also printed our boarding passes. The site was avaible for check in 2-3 days prior to the flight, thus all we had to do was walk in through gates and board. In fact with less than 5 minutes to go we boarded plane with NO WAITING.

The aircraft in both trips were very clean and modern, it was the a320 Airbus model which we flew in.

The site is relatively easy to use with no problems encountered. The only minor issue with myself was that the seat headrests were a little high so basically our field of vision was restricted.

The inflight annoucements on both occassions were VERY GOOD, as we were approaching Melbourne the Captain had announced that due to Melbourne airport being upgraded we had to fly in a stacking position as we had to wait for the landing along with 5-6 other flights.

The airfares are very reasonable, the flight was very quiet and everybody was greeted with respect.

As I had taken a flight with Quantas before I naturally was a luittle hesistant at first flying with Tigerair having read reviews earlier. I must admit I was very ahhpy with the condition of their planes, the pricing and the ease of use in checking in ONLINE.I myself will be definately try Tigerairways again in the future and think that the negative reviews which made me nervous as I have a phobia about flying was completely unfounded.

Tiger Air Aiming To Maximize Profit At All Costs

My brief acquaintance with Tiger Air has left such a bitter taste that I will never fly with them again and will strongly dissuade family, friends and colleagues from using this airline. I did not receive timely information about the terminal change at Perth Airport, now departing from the same area as the international terminal. The domestic terminal has always only operated in one area, 11 km away from the international terminal. Needless to say, when I got to the right terminal, I missed my flight, because of Tiger Air’s cost cutting practice of utilizing the same staff for check-in and boarding. This leaves the check-in counter unattended for 45 minutes before flight departure. Their explanation: it is our policy, because we are an on-time airline. When the same staff returned after the flight left I was stunned by their unprofessionalism. One example amongst others is a staff member verbalizing that she was not in the mood to answer a ringing phone. The 45-minute policy and the consequential standard charge of $85 to book another flight is a nice little money-spinner for Tiger Air. I was only one of 7 people queued up. The Tiger Air Arrivals in Melbourne was shocking, being nothing more than a warehouse with a demountable toilet block set up in one corner and a fenced off carousel. I normally book through Webjet and fly Virgin, Jetstar or Quantas. Over the past 12 years I have never had any issues with regard to correct and timely information, staff members' level of professionalism or the quality of the service. Additionally, the way Tiger Air’s Customer Care dealt with my complaint in recent days can only be described as a brush-off by a company aiming to maximize profit at all costs. Looking at other reviews of Tiger Air it has become clear that booking with them is literally a “lucky dip”. Missing a family Christmas celebration due to Tiger Air has made up my mind for me to never fly with them again.

...once again the borderline legality, evasive, questionable ethics, sly, sneaky stereotype of SE Asian business is confirmed in making an on line booking with Tiger Airways. Customer must be bright eyed/fully awake to discern the pre-checked boxes in the carrier's favor for early boarding @ 150 baht each way. This marketing groveling for a few extra coins is despicable; and the ill gotten gains is more than offset by the flying public ire and unhappiness in finding itself duped again by this tactic.

There Is A Reason Why Tiger Airways Is So Cheap

It is hard to resist a bargain and Tiger Airways offer some very cheap prices. But the service is bare bones. Most people will get lucky and have no issues other than a delay. For me I had a much worse problem. They lost my luggage!

Now I understand that this can happen to anyone but it is how the matter is dealt with which is important. In the past another airline lost my luggage (also flying in to Thailand) and they were great. They were responsive, apologetic and even flew out my case to an island the next day.

With Tiger there was nothing. No one to speak to, no apology, no explanation, nothing. I had to manage with no clothes or other possessions. Over 6 months later, after they had made me jump through hoops, they sent me a paltry little check as compensation. It was hardly worth the effort to file the claim. I still never received any apology or got to chat or even email with anyone. They made it as difficult and impersonal as possible at every step of the way.

Check In Personnel Is The Start For Your Nightmare!

6/3/13 Family of 4. Sin to Mnl. From the moment we start checking in, she made sure that we could barely understand her, there was a mentioned of bags being weight in but instead she left us standing there and when she came back she did not acknowledged us and started organizing the long lines that was behind us. Since she gave us our boarding pass we proceeded to security only to be stopped by Tiger employee. Confiscated all the boarding pass and wants $700 dollars for the extra weight on our hand carry $30 dollars per kg. My husband got so mad, that people are starting to see and know what was happening and one of the cops got involved that he even agreed that it is such a ridiculous price to ask considering the we only paid $400 for the fare.

With crowds getting big seeing and hearing how ridiculous they are, the Tiger guy finally gave us a break that we both can agreed on.

That did not stop there, when we got on board, we just realized that we were all sitting in the middle seat different row sections. This flight was arranged 1 year ago. 2 of us got a good one, but myself and my daughter was put in next to a yelping baby and I was in front of emergency exit that the seat does not reclined. Bad back and all I have to suffer with the most uncomfortable seat and tight leg room.

No food, no water on any of their flights. You pay. This is an international flight! This is the most cruel ground personnell, the most cruel airline we have flown in. Never again!

Luggage Arrived With Next Flight

I took their flight from Singapore to Bangkok for a 3-day trip. Upon arriving, I was not able to locate my luggage at the designated belt. After waiting for a full hour, I made a report. I wasted the entire morning waiting for 'miracle' to happen, and I decided to proceed to Pratunam to purchase my toiletries, which took up the whole afternoon. I received an email from Suvarnabhumi Airport that they had found my luggage and it arrived with the next flight. After the trip, I wrote an email to [email protected], but have not received any reply after 3 working days. I am definitely disappointed with Tiger Airways and would not recommend to anyone due to poor customer service. I understand that hiccups might occur during the handling of luggage, but they don't even care to apologize!

Worst Airway Service!

Tried to login to their website to change flight details before flight time. 4 hours is what was specifiied on their website. 4 hours 10 mins before flight time, we went in to the website and tried to change the time but the system did not response at all. We quickly called their customer service and the first one told us the system is down and she cannot do anything and we tried to asked for people who can help but she cannot supply us with any information. I called another time and this time round the officer said we are less than 4 hours away so she cannot do anything. I request to speak to the manager, she keep telling me her manager is not free and we heard the manager talking to her behind saying she do not want to answer the call. We ask for the manager to call us back inorder for us to provide feedback, they said they cannot call back. WHAT KIND OF SERVICE IS THIS? Can'e even attend to customers feedback? Keep asking us to write email, this is how they handle customer, i will never take tiger airway no matter how cheap they are!

I Was Robbed On A Flight With Tiger Airways!!!

On 28th of May, 2013, I was flying from Hong Kong to Singapore. I was robbed on a flight with Tiger Airways but their crew did nothing to help me. One of the passengers stole about 3400 US Dollars in cash that were on my wallet that was on locked backpack. When the passengers started to leave the plain, I found that my backpack was opened & I immediately asked for the crew's help, was crying to stop the passengers to find the criminal, but they did nothing! Moreover, they refused me to cancel my next flight, but I had to visit my embassy to report the crime & to get some help! Tiger Airways also don't have adequate customer service support! I was calling them, but their representatives were rude!
