Appalling Customer Service
My first experience with Turkish Airlines has been very poor.
I bought for about $A14,500 2 Business class tickets Sydney-Italy-Malta-Sydney (all via Istanbul). All for travel in August and September 2022.
Turkish Airlines did major flight changes with two flight cancellations - the first change meant that our flight from Istanbul to Italy departed 5 hours before we had even landed in Istanbul.
The second major change was that our sunday dep;arture from Italy was now Saturday and resulted in a planned 18 hour stopover in Istanbul Airpoirt.
Our agent (who is the biggest in Australia) cancelled our tickets and after 7 weeks we are still waiting for the refund. Turkish AIrlines have told our agent that refunds take 12 weeks to process. Of course we have already had to pay for the replacement airline tickets and the cancellation is only a result of Turkish AIrlines cancelling flights
With experience like this I cannot recommend Turkish AIrlines to anyone and would never choose them again.

My wife and I have now had 6 bookings with Turkish Airlines.
None have gone without incident.
*2017/11 All passengers luggage was deliberately left in Istanbul so that they could fill the hold with cargo.
Moi Airport was not warned, so we took 3 hours to get out.
Luggage was delivered 36 hours later.
*2018/02 Our Pre selected seats were changed without our knowledge. Then, even after we had selected other seats and checked in online, we arrived in Istanbul to find that one of us had the selected seat and the other had been put on standby.
*2018/07 They rescheduled the booking by 1 whole day.
*2018/11 3 hours late, so missed the connection to Manchester and had to stay in Istanbul overnight. Had to buy Visas and queue at the transfer desk for hours.Unhelpful staff.
*2019/02 2 hours late, so again missed the connection to Manchester and had to stay in Istanbul again. Had to queue at the transfer desk for hours.
*2019/06 Already Rescheduled, leaving us with a 7 hour wait in Istanbul new airport where there are no VIP lounges accessible (only for Business and Miles and Smiles Elite and above) and no comfortable chairs in the new airport. Indeed, none at all in the main concourse and only cheap plastic ones at the gates (when you eventually find the gate to go to)
Not one of 6 of our bookings went without some sort of hitch. All had many small schedule changes which involved phoning them to accept the changes.
The flights themselves however are OK, but breakfasts disappointing.
Every airline can have off days, but it seems that every day is an off day for Turkish Airlines, at least if you travel Manchester to Mombasa.
That is enough of Turkish Airlines for us.
Worst Airline Ever.
Travelled with my family during last holiday, the staff are not trained, they do not care about their passengers at lot. left us trended at the Istanbul airport for over 24hours, promised accommodation they knew was not available. Turkish airline is not equipped for international flight or handling of multi-racial passengers. The worst so far in this line of industry.
Turkish Air, Toronto - Istanbul - Toronto
Flight was late taking off, service was slow, Food wasn't that great. Specially the breakfast omelet. Three hours delay coming back from Istanbul to Toronto. Missed my conection through Toronto. Had to stay over night, lost a day at work. Turkish Air didn't accept any responsibility since my connection from Toronto was on a diffeent itinerary. Their dealy cost me additional $950. I will ever again travel with them.

we missed our flight from tashken Uzbekistan to Istanbul in august the agent charged us penalty and sold over price tickets and she was the most vicious person!! Not only that she booked our other ticket from istanbul back to US one month later , when we got to Istanbul we went to the customer service and explained everything the woman at the counter would repeat over and over that why we paid for new tickets , like it was our fault that we bought new tickets so after hours of waiting at the airport and not sleeping for more than 24hours with my three children another agent helped us to and changed our tickets but again they charged us another penalty which they told us hen you get home contact them and they will return your money we just have to do this for the system !! we wore charged over 4000 dollars to get back home which we already paid over 6000 for our original tickets and when I contacted the airline in return they said sorry and didn't return a penny of ours !! You guys have horrible customer service.

Bad Customer Service, Bying Of Visas To Reschedule Flight
Worst flight from / to Senegal (West Africa).
In January 2016 the flight left Dakar about 1 hour late. We had no apology, no explanation.
No information given in French during the whole journey which means that French speaking senegalese did not have a clue about what was said. As a British resident I translated many passengers requests.
At istanbul airport many connecting flights were delayed and poor senegalese struggled to communicate. Again I walked back forth to translate and help.
I paid a visas to a lady with a child going to Germany who had to go to the ticket office located out of the transit zone to rechedule her missed connecting flight.
On top of that misery many food options were unavailable.

Turkish Airlines is a great company. I've flown with them internationally and domestically within Turkey. The long haul flights are easily the most comfortable overseas flights I have ever taken, and I have taken quite a few. I always fly economy. It 'feels' as if the seats areas are larger. I don't know if they do this on purpose, but most of the time on the international flights the airplane has been about 2/3 full or less meaning plenty of room to stretch my long legs (I am 6ft 3in, about 2 meters tall). On a one hour domestic flight, we received drinks and nice sandwiches. The plane for domestic flights are also very large with much more space than what can be found with American domestic flights. And, the food is good.
Once, I missed my flight and got stuck in New York. Because I was connecting with two separate tickets on two separate airlines, Turkish Air had no obligation to help me. They rebooked my flight for a fraction of the asking price. The staff is always very helpful and seem genuinely concerned.
I have read a lot of these negative reviews. Undoubtedly, complications are possible, but Turkish is a fantastic carrier. I also see that most of these airline reviews are negative. I suppose that angry people are more likely to write reviews than happy ones.
Return Flight From Oman To Istanbull
Flight from Oman to Istanbul delayed from start service personal very unhelpful the whole trip was awful never again I only will fly direct even when more expensive mist my connection flight to London although not my fault never never again
