Ukraine International Airlines

The service was speedy, professional; the airplane was clean but I can tell that the airplane was older however they make great use of the space and resources they have. I'd enjoy flying with this airline again, it was affordable, reliable and I felt safe. I've flown with them twice during this past summer while I was en route to London from NY, Kiev was a layover of 16+ hours however, the cost was unbeatable and I got to visit the Ukraine. I had fun.

All that i previously read about this airline unfortunately was true. Took four flights in a two week period, three delayed with no explanation at the gate. A mad rush to board with no control from the hordes of frustrated people. Forget soft drinks, or even a chip/pretzel, as on a three hour flight you must pay for this "premium" service.This airline seems more intent on trying to sell merchandise than worrying about passenger needs. In-flight entertainment was something from the pre modern day era. Movies from 20-30 years ago, poor quality, animated movies and cartoons with Home Alone thrown in for good measure. These management types at UIA should get with some real companies that know how to bring clients repeatedly back for future business.A novice flyer could easily see how rinky-dink and no-frills this company is. Will never take another flight with UIA as they dont have any caring for their clients.

never fly this rubbish airline. We travelled as a group of eleven to Dubai in July 2015 and the service we received was atrocious. The stewardess on our return flight home was like a "little hitler", no charisma and no smile. Ukraine airline lost five suitcases out of eleven and when we did receive them we had to go back to the airport to collect our luggage and realised missing items an locks broken on some of the suitcases. We reported this straight away but after one month we are still awaiting news of our claim. We are not holding our breath that we will be reimbursed our additional costs incurred. The aeroplane Ukraine airline use is something from the 1980's, very very basic and very uncomfortable seats. DO NOT FLY WITH UKRAINE AIRLINE. Pay abit more and fly with a better airline.

I have experienced many airlines. Even as basic as easy jet. This airline is worse than easy jet. There in no in flight entertainment, the stewardess refused to even acknowledge me there but happily talked to the Ukrainians around me. To add to this the flight was delayed. On the way back home I was refused boarding and asked to pay for another ticket even though I was on time. I believe they left early. This ticket cost me £200. The immigration at Borispol is also the most poorly managed I have seen in the world and I have been to many third world countries.

Second experience with this...funny airlines. I was forced to cancel a flight from Athens to Kiev because they change or cancel both flights. The second experience just make me furius. I booked a flight from Athens to Bangkok threw Kiev. hte transit time was 2 hours in both cases. After 5 months they decided to change the flight from Kiev to Athens making a transit of 12 hours!!! We are supposed to be early to Athens but we would be to at night. We asked them at least to provide hotel for this time as we had already made plans and we didnt want to cancel this long trip and also the alternative flights (eg Egypt Air) was in very hight prices this time...They answer like...communists...take 12 hours in Airport or cancel...If u want to make plans and having a human reacting airliner avoid this communist relic!

I had 3 flights with UIA, I was really concerned after reading nasty reviews online. But my experience was really good. None of my flights were delayed and I had very short time between my flights in Kiev.

My flights were from London Gatwick to Odessa with connection in Kiev.

I liked the aircrafts that I have been on, both Boeings. The food on flight from London was really nice, comparing to the other airlines. On the flight from Kiev to Odessa only drinks were served (water or tea, coffee).

I had a flight last December, with this Airlines from Helsinki to Kiev the flight was fine nothing to complain about that but my suitcase got lost, I gave up the address were I would be staying (5 hours drive from Kiev)and they said I would get it with in 24 hours. 5 days later (12 hours before I went back home) I got my bag finally but totally ruin. Everything inside were ok but I was without all my stuff for 5 days no cloths to change or anything !!. And as they sent it with some driver they were clever to send no document so it will be pretty hard for me go get some compensation but I will try.

The seats are very crowded. no blankets or pillows. no entertainment movies or music. no newspapers. you have to pay for cola and wine. they dont respect seats reservation on internet and cancel it at airport. they landed very far from the terminal

I was flying Geneva-Kiev-Moscow with this company, and the service was horrible. First, they park planes really far from the terminal, so instead of an hour we had just 10 mins between the flights, because of earlier boarding. But our luggage was transferred later, so the passengers had to wait for departure in the plane for an hour or more. It was raining outside, and all the suitcases got wet and dirty - they didn't think to cover the trolleys.. Then, the staff was quite welcoming, but they don't speak much English. The meals were rubbish - too small and tasteless. We landed in Moscow with 40 mins delay.

I would avoid flying with UIA Ukrainian International Airlines at all costs.

They are rude, have no customer service and will avoid helping you at all costs.

I had a return flight booked with UIA departing Istanbul to Odessa 14/05/2013. My return was scheduled on 19/05/2013. Both legs of the flight were booked and paid for via the company's internet booking website.

For unforeseen reasons I missed my flight on 14/05 from Istanbul to Odessa. I spoke to the UIA representatives that day in Istanbul Ataturk and they mentioned I could try to fly the next day and still fly back May 19 as per the orginal booking. Further I rebooked to fly with the same company the following day. I paid the cost for a full new single fare.

When I arrived at Odessa airport I waited for 15 minutes at the check in counter for the company to fiddle with computers and recheck my ticket. Finally they said to me that yes I have a ticket back but for some reason they cant check me in

They informed me I had to go to their ticket sales counter upstairs. Upon arrival the girl told me I had to wait despite only an hour remaining until my flight.

Once it was my turn she said that she called her manager and said there was nothing she could do to put me on this flight as I had not taken proper measures to cancel this ticket.

I mentioned to her that I flew to Odessa with their company on the 15 of May to which she told me to prove it. She would not let me gain access to the internet via her computer and I was lucky that I had a smart phone with data usage on it as wifi at the airport was not working. During my whole ordeal two further customers came and complained one for lost baggage and another for similar boarding issues. She told both of them to contact the companies telephone line or thier respective booking agents. Basically she did not sympathize or try to help them at all.

After retrieving my ticket she said unfortunately her manager still said the ticket is invalid and I would have to pay a fine to fly with the airline. I asked her about the fine id paid for missing the original flight and she said I was wrongly informed by the UIA in Istanbul and it was my duty to take it up with them. They were not affiliated.

She then told me to take it up with my travel agent. I said you are my travel agent as I booked online with your company to which she answered no you have to call the specific numbers on the website. She would not let me use her phone to call the UIA company on a local telephone number to Odessa, Ukraine.

I asked to speak to her manager she said no her manager wasn't around as it was a Sunday and managers don't deal with customer problems on Sundays. Only she could speak to her manager via telephone.

I asked her finally about paying the fine and she said yes in the form of a new ticket. I made a five minute phone call to organise funds on my card. After getting off the phone she informed me that it was no longer available to buy a new ticket and the plane was departing.

I asked her how would she feel if this happened to her in a foreign country and she said look its not my fault its the system.

I was left in Odessa airport with no flight to Istanbul - all other companies were booked out excluding business class to Istanbul. The company, despite already getting money for a return flight from me and flying with an empty seat, offered no way to compensate me, would not even let me use their phone to call and enquire regarding boarding this flight from UIA - the price of a local call.

I would under no circumstance recommend flying with them. Avoid this company at all costs because they will do anything to get your money, make you false promises that you can fly and not offer any service whatsoever.
