Car hire at Faro airport was very cheap, including insurance, from Atlas. I asked for an automatic car which was provided but I would have preferred a smaller vehicle. Transfer from airport to rental company was very quick and same for return. When the car battery failed at the holiday resort, the 24 hour breakdown service response was very good and I had no further problems.

I rented a car from best deal cars they asked for a copy of my credit card witch they said would be distroyed when the car was returnder with no damage wwitch it was, 7 months later they used my credit card to take money for a toll road company . Dont remember seeing any toll road or any were to pay ,I think this is a trick they could use on any one,and why do they still have my card details 7 month later.

Got back a couple of weeks ago from a short break in Vilamoura, great place - anyway because of the nature of my visit I needed to get around and not having been to the area before I wanted something cheap and cheerful and reliable. The company I used was http://www.farocarhireportugal.co.uk/ who are called autorent. Have since looked on these forums and see they are moaned about a bit, well I hade no problems and the tyres were not bald, and the car only had a couple of thousand km on the clock. Glad I booked with them, good value for money and would use them again
