Tilajari Resort

Was originally a sports club, but an American bought it and converted it into a resort - he did a great job. Good location for the Arenal Volcano, 30 mins away so if it erupts plenty of time to get the hell out of Dodge City ! The grounds are a bird watchers paradise and also for Iguana's, Snakes and Armadillos ( i saw all of these in the grounds ). The restaurant is outstanding. The chef and his staff know their stuff and i can highly recommend the Seafood Soup and any of the Fish dishes. Generally, the ambience of the place is very pleasing and the staff are very friendly and efficient. The standard of the rooms is high and they are well equiped.
