Kefalos, Zografina

My family found the Zografina ideal, it has a fridge with a small frezzer, two ring hot plate, kettle, plates, dishes, cutlery, pots and pans. Kefalos is a lovely place with a great beach ideal for windsurfers. The people are really friendly and helpful more so than the Spanish or the Maltese.

The only problem we found is, that most of the Greek people don't have any compasion for animals. Their cattle are chained up with a bucket of water in the blazing sun with very limited shade. Dogs are also chained up and seem to stay there all day and night, others are in make shift kennels and don't seem to be exercised or at least the house next door to the Zografina dogs never left their kennel in the two weeks we were there. Then you get the strays not many as they are culled at the begining of the season then again at the end. We saw one last year and one this year. Please if you visit Kefalos and you are near the wind surfing centre ran by Jens (good center) and you see a larger(as in height) black and tan dog roaming ( he is only about 12mths old), please please show him some loving and give him a bit of grub. He is a lovely dog, very friendly and lonely. If it had been easy enough we would of brought him home we only hope that someone will take him in or take him home.
