Idyllic Setting!

My sister and I have just spent a week here from 13/10/12 - overall very pleased with the hotel. Comfortable, clean, spacious, good food and service. Beautiful pool area and gardens - views of the ocean to die for.Beach towels available every day, lovely bar and reception area, jacuzzi on room balcony. Different grades of room and restuarant. Free upgrades are available or can be paid for. Hotel is a little battle worn with some maintenance work needed but loved every minute of my stay. Best bit? Swimming in the warm Aegean sea and the hot 27c and upwards temperatures every day. Didn't rain once!

Very Good Holiday

Good holiday although not really 5 Star as rated. Hotel was well situated, right on the beach, short bus ride from Rhodes city and near to local shops , although quiet area. The food was very fresh , plentiful and with an excellent choice. Th rooms were fairly spacious but let down by the lighting which was very poor. The 2 pools one fresh water were large and clean, but the sun beds were falling apart.Suspect they will be updated before next season. All in all a very enjoyable holiday.

Great Greek Experience!

I think like every traveller going to a new destination and hotel, we were a little apprehensive however we really need not have been. We arrived at the Ixian Grand Hotel, Ixia and were checked in quickly and although our initial room was disappointing (small and I suspect a previous guest had smoked in the room despite being asked not to), the staff were polite and quick to respond to our request to move (despite being almost fully booked). The second room was well equipped and spacious. We had ample storage space, a well stocked bathroom, jacuzzi bath (nice touch!), TV, fridge, safe and everything you would expect or need. The room overlooked the pool and the beach which was great first thing in the morning and last thing at night. The staff throughout the hotel were helpful and always smiling. There was a great selection of food for breakfast and dinner which, by comparison to other accommodation of this nature that we have stayed at, was a pleasant surprise. Plenty of space around the pool and grounds to sunbathe and an endless stock of towels too which was great. Drinks were fairly pricey at the hotel but, as we found out, this is largely down to the tax the hotel have to pay on alcohol. The hotel is situated just a short distance away from Rhodes town (walkable if you're feeling energetic) and with restaurants and shops close by we didn't want for anything. Free transfers to and from the airport meant we really didn't have to think of anything for ourselves - just what the doctor ordered!
