Bel Art Hotel, Barcelona

The Confortel Bel Art Hotel is situated at the very top of the Eixample district, about a 10-15 minute walk north of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. The lobby is very well designed but lacking a bar, and our room was compact but comfortable. Shower was good and hot. There were no drink making facilities in the room but the mini fridge was stocked each day with plenty of free bottles of water.

Our booking included breakfast which was the normal continental fare of cheeses, cold meats, omelettes along with choices of cereal, lots of mini pastries, toast and jams, scrambled eggs, bacon and Spanish sausage. The funniest addition was cake and jelly tots! The jelly tots were alongside the cereal - bit odd. Staff were fairly helpful when we asked about nearby restaurants but the area does lack decent places to eat with only a couple of small supermarkets a little walk away.

For the price it was ok, if you're not a keen walker or want to be in the hub of everything then don't choose this hotel.

Tip: The drains in Barcelona tend to be a bit whiffy so when you've used the bathroom at all then make sure you close the door or open your bedroom window!

Bel Art Hotel has Very friendly staff, rooms are a comfortable size, food very good, two mins away from nearest tube station (alfons). Barcelona is a great city to visit, I would recommend a visit to the San Pau Hospital, a short walk away from the hotel. Amazing, I've never seen such a lovely hospital. Plenty to do and see in this great city.
