The hotel was an amazing experience with it's Victorian decor and fabulous views. The food was delicious and the staff were always ready to help. Would definitely go again. Well worth the price! Welcomes all the family.
Would Not Recommend The Cleveland, Rushpool Hall H
Would not recommend the Cleveland, Rushpool Hall Hotel to anyone - food overpriced, staff unpleasant & rude. Were glad we were only staying one night. Food was overpriced & terrible - vegetables were tasteless & meat was dry and tough.
Room was very cold (had paid extra for 4 poster room). The water was also cold & even after running it for quite a while only became luke warm.
Staff very rude and unhelpful - very unwilling to listen to any complaints and would not tell us whether the manager was available. Tried several times to contact the manager after our stay but could not get hold of him. Cannot think of anything enjoyable or even acceptable about this hotel other than the views.

This is a really special little place. It's not like any other hotel. Firstly it's views and also it's old world decor and stunning gardens. The staff have always been very welcoming.
Very Disappointing Stay At The Rushpool Hall Hotel
Very disappointing stay at the Rushpool Hall hotel. They had advertised New Years Eve events being for the discerning guest but the room and meal provided was dreadful. Staff were not bothered about complaints and despite that fact, the meal was inedible and they did not offer any alternative. No-one informed us that there was no hot water until we rang reception and even then we were told it would be back on within 10 minutes. That was not so, no hot water that night at all. At check-out we were told to write a letter highlighting these problems as there was no-one available to talk to us. Several other people checking out were also unhappy with the service they received. The reply letter we received from management stated that no-one else had complained and that the steak that guests had returned to the kitchen was eaten by the hotel staff and they thought it was delicious! The other points we had mentioned were also brushed aside by the management and the letter actually told us that the staff had acted professionally under the stresses of having no hot water and some guests actually bathed prior to arriving at the hotel so the problems did not affect everyone! I have never before stayed at a hotel where the staff are so unprofessional and the standard of service so poor. For this hotel to advertise itself as luxurious is incredible. I would not recommend that anyone stay here.
I agree totally with Jeremy, on the hotel/catering side this place is absolutely terrible at times. I have been spoken to by staff here as though they were much too exclusive to even bother with me, it is a kind of 'you small people' attitude conveyed to myself and my family.
I will say that as they are taking so much money from the wedding side of the business they possibly try harder with the bride and groom as word of mouth definitely brings in business, but don't be fooled, they wouldn't go out of their way so much when you aren't spending that much.
They should try to remember we are all customers or potential customers, more than that we are all equally important!
Bad news travels much faster than good news about a business, they really ought to try to be nicer to people.
We have spent the last four New Years Eves at Rushpool Hall and have always been satisfied. For a start, our food was wonderful. Perhaps not the gourmet standard of a 5 star hotel but certainly a good effort. The 6 course dinner did perhaps run on a bit too long this year but it certainly won't stop me from going there again. The water heating system failed because too many people arrived at the same time and tried to take showers. It could happen anywhere. If you are looking for absolute luxury then undoubtedly Gisborough Hall or Craithorne would be your best bet. Rushpool Hall is a charming little jewel with unbeatable views, dog friendly, which is very important for us, with down to earth, really English staff. Perhaps this gentleman thinks they should refund 400 guests because the hot water goes down for an hour.
I totally disagree with the above review.
My husband and I were married at Rushpool Hall Hotel in 2005, and we stayed there over the Easter weekend for our anniversary. We had a wonderful time! The staff couldn't do enough for us, and the food and service, as always, was excellent.
I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone.
