I Dont Come From A Dirty Scruffy Home , So When I
I dont come from a dirty scruffy home , so when I go away I dont lower my basic living standards, what you have here at the Rex Halcyon , is tourism on an industrial scale, very very tired acomodation not nice at all .
I refused to check in to the room they had given me ,which I might ad was a free upgrade,I did get a better room, I feel sory for the staff who try there best.
The sun shone through out our stay the food was fine the staff were lovely and we made the most of our two weeks, you are allowed to use there sister Hotel at Hawks Bill ! if your on AI, do it its leaps and bounds better.
value for money yes it was, but I still have to earn it,so would I go back,I doubt it , a clean and tidy room , its not rocket science ,thats all you want.

My Husband And I Had The Great Pleasure Of Staying
my husband and i had the great pleasure of staying at dickinson bay, rex halcyon cove for our honeymoon, september 09, (hurricane season)! on arrival we were delighted to have an up graded room which was beautiful and spacious with a sea view. we found the staff extremely friendly and polite, in fact they couldnt do enough for us throughout our week. we had great fun with the entertainment superviser, and the waitress was second to none with her beautiful smile and fantastic nature. definatley one to look out for.... the entertainment wasnt up to much but you tend to make youre own fun with the staff, whom are well up for a laugh. the food was fab, the scenery priceless, and i cant wait to return in the near future.

The Beach And The Accommodation Was Excellent, Poo
The beach and the accommodation was excellent, poolside and pool cleaned regularly. All staff friendly, good choice of food and well presented and good views from restaurants.
We had a great room with a pool and beach view, air conditioning and tv, lovely stretch beach and good choice of watersports. Would recommend eating at the Beach Bar which is just a bit further than Sandals with good nightlife.

This Hotel Was Built In 1973, And Is Going Through
This hotel was built in 1973, and is going through an upgrading. It was originally a 5 * hotel, but let to run down. They have now a very progressive General Manager and the backing of a very good staff. Improvements are happening daily, and feel that within no time at all it will be back to its original status. The trips arranged from the hotel are excellent, and of very good value. This hotel needs to be tried as I feel that it offers very good value.

My Boyfriend And I Visited Antigua For The First T
My boyfriend and I visited Antigua for the first time. The hotel was generally ok and our room was clean and was a good size, however we were shoved in a room at the block at the back, which in my opinion needs to be knocked down and fully refurbished!!! We stayed for 2 weeks and found that after 3 days we had no hot water, and subsequently for the next 11 days we had to endure having cold showers!! The entertainment was mediocre and there was not enough to do on the complex in the evening. Apart from that, the fact that the hotel was located right on the beach, made up for it and the food wasn't half bad either, apart from one evening we had a meal at the Arawak Terrace and there was no gravy!!!! It was the continental menu and I have to say I am not used to eating dry food!!! But all in all, we had a pleasant stay at Halcyon Cove.

My Husband And I Went To Rex Halcyon Cove For The
My husband and I went to Rex Halcyon Cove for the first time ever all inclusive; we had a wonderful time! The room was beautiful, the staff were helpful and friendly, the food was wonderful, the social atmosphere was the best - we would return like a shot! The catamaran tours are not to be missed, a party atmosphere all day long....We went in May/June and were told that as it was the end of their season and the hotel was not 'full enough' the entertainment had been cut - this was sad, as we were at the beach bar with no music for 4 out of 7 nights and although we would return, we would hope that the management would realise that we had paid just as much as someone who went when it was 'full' and deserved no less entertainment, particularly when it had been promised in the sales information.

My Husband And I Have Just Had A 10 Day Virgin Hol
My husband and I have just had a 10 day Virgin Holiday at Rex Halcyon Cove. Being 27 weeks pregnant I was keen to be near the most facilities hence picking the busiest beach on the island, and so glad we did. In terms of 'busy' - yes there are few beach bars and a couple of hotels but by most resort standards it was quiet and laid back and the beach is truly stunning.
The hotel has prime position on the north end of the beach where the sand is white powder and the beach is quite deep and for this reason if nothing else, the hotel deserves a makeover. The rooms are spread around the gardens and as far as we could tell are of very varying standards but all in need of a facelift. We picked a superior room which had a good size balcony, room, TV and was kept clean to a fault but our bathroom was very tired with old plastic taps and water that never ran clear. Our cupboard doors were also falling off and our air conditioning unit was also pretty useless so we were supplied with an electric fan. On the day we checked out we were given another room which was much more grim - a standards I suspect, so I would avoid these.
I agree with the other reviewer about the food being random, but would definitely advise the all inclusive package as drinks and food are quite dear otherwise. In fact it turned out to be very good value with 3 meals a day, afternoon tea and unlimited beverages.
If you are going and you are unhappy with your room when you get there - ask to be moved. I saw so many people requesting moves that they must be used to it and are quick to accommodate you. But don't be put off - it's tired but fine and the beach is worth it.

Rex Halcyon Cove Has Been A Wonderful Hotel; When
Rex Halcyon Cove has been a wonderful hotel; when all the fixtures & fitting were new it must have been lovely. It's well laid out, nice well-kept grounds and the staff are friendly and helpful, although their efforts are hampered by trying to cope with guests complaining about their rooms. We booked a standard room and upgraded to a beachfront studio when we got there. The studio had a narrow (sitting-out type)balcony overlooking the beach - wonderful. But the room itself - the WC didn't flush properly, the sliding wardrobe door fell off, and the tiny fridge could have starred on the Antiques Roadshow. During the two weeks we repeatedly asked for the WC to be fixed & although they came a few times it never did work right. We gave up asking eventually, using the loo in the reception area when needed. We were on a room only basis, but found that it was cheaper to buy an all-inclusive food package for breakfast & dinner (they sell various combinations of meals and days). There aren't many places to eat out nearby. There is nightly entertainment (variable) at the large beach bar, also a function room used if rain threatens. Hotel restaurant is nicely presented, with attentive staff, but food varied in quality from day to day. Beach area is wonderful, very clean and well looked after.
I disagree with this review because... I found it offered a totally unacceptable standard of accommodation and service
