Some Good Bits, Some Not So Good
We went on a 4 day trip to Breckon. The pods we stayed in were clean and well looked after. The instructors were excellent - very good with the children and some real characters. The activities were well planned to ensure a mix of physically demanding and more gentle sessions.
On the negative, there are a lot of pedantic rules - my wife and I were told off for being "too close to the waters edge" - we were weren't even on the beach! There is a ridiculous rule that means children have to have showers in separate shower blocks to their parents - which actually makes the children LESS safe than if they were allowed to shower with their parents - petty and self-defeating. Maybe the child protection police have never been to a public swimming pool?
Also, food was poor - just reheated sausage rolls/ burgers etc and chips. There was some salad but could have provided a healthier menu given the amount the company charges. I also agree with other comments that if you pay for four days, you only get two days of activities.
Overall, nice change of scenery and a couple of days keeping the kids busy, but unlikely to return.

Fab Family Holiday In Malta
Would highly recommend Acorn Holidays holiday in Malta - went with 2 kids aged 13 and 15 - Children ranged from 8 to 16 - Stayed at Basecamp in St Julians which was a great hostel, with good beds, aircon - food was great, kids loved the pool and hanging out in the common areas - walk to shops and sea - Activities were brilliant - a good range for adrenaline seekers! Lovely families and a really relaxing and fun holiday - would recommend!

Great Holiday!
I went on a single parent holiday to Brecon last summer with my little boy (ages 6) and had the best holiday ever! From booking I received. I thing but excellent service from Acorn staff and when I rang this year to book one of their France holidays they even remembered me! Lovely, friendly staff who were happy to help in any way. The activities were great and we made some lifelong friends. The pods were exactly what we needed, as were the facilities. I wasn’t expecting luxury when I booked a glamping holiday and I feel like the holiday was very reasonably priced given the amount of activities etc offered. I found the food great. It was basic but I didn’t really expect anything else from a child friendly holiday. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a fun, affordable adventure holiday

Making Memories In Wales With Acorn Family Holidays
What a fantastic holiday. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun time with your kids. I thought it was a tad expensive when I booked but it is definitely worth the money. A weeks holiday elsewhere won’t put as many smiles on your families faces nor memories in the memory bank.
The food was fine, it’s not gourmet nor the all-inclusive in the Algarve. Mealtimes are a group affair with the instructors serving and doing the washing up. No two meals were the same.
Accommodation is basic and the beds are comfortable, I recommend you bring some camping seats.
Toilets / showers are cleaned every day and were perfectly acceptable.
Activities, this is where your money is really being spent. The Instructors are all motivated and very children focused, by the end of day 1 they all knew my daughters name. The activities are designed to take you and your children out of their comfort zone and put a smile on your face but if anyone doesn’t want to do something that’s fine too, you’ll be included in another aspect of the activity. It was great fun and money well spent. Thanks Acorn, I’ll be back.

Poor Value For Money
Acorn make out to be this cost effective, ethical company but they are miles away with that statement. I complained extensively during my holiday in the Ardeche and absolutely nothing was done. When I came home I again complained about the a variety of issues which just went on def ears. May I suggest paying a little more for your holiday as it would roughly be the same with the hidden costs Acorn don't tell you about. Appalling company and really bad communication.

Great Adventures, Awful Pods, Terrible Facilities!
I would advise that if you want glancing as promised on the website, then don't use Acorn adventures! The facilities are awful at Brecon Hills, Wales. Showers disgusting, toilets dirty, when you would rather stay dirty than go for a shower, I think says it all!
Food wasn't too bad after the first night, which was awful! No choice, you get what you're given! For nearly 200 a night you would expect better anywhere else!
We booked for 4 days adventure on the website. What we then got through the post was, arrive at 4pm, leave at 10am... so in fact 2 days of adventures! We paid for two adults and two children. So in total for 2 days it cost over £700! What a joke, wouldn't mind if the place was half decent, but trust me it isn't.
Stay away is my advice, the sad thing is, the staff are hard working and are great! What a shame the place lets itself down.
I called the head office when we returned to which they said they would get back in 5 working days, I am still waiting two weeks later!
Not good! Acorn, sort it out!
If You Want Your Daughter Pregnant Send Her On An Acorn Trip
Good activities, drunk teachers, and young acorn staff who will not step up to look after the children if they need to ensure their welfare. If teenagers (male and female) are involved, expect it all to go wrong.
I am sorry you feel this way about our holidays. If you can let me have some more feedback and which trip this is relating to, I will look into this for you. We have been receiving excellent feedback this year and our staff often receive high praise for their energy, enthusiasm and professionalism. Just today, I have received a lengthy email thanking our staff for their hard work. We have very high standards and so I am surprised to hear your feedback and would like to have the opportunity to understand your points more fully. We take all complaints about our holidays very seriously, especially any relating to the welfare of children.

Amazing Family Weekend
We have just returned from a weekend break in Llangorse, Wales, myself and 2 boys. The staff were welcoming and friendly and worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The activities were well planned and everyone had plenty of time to have a go and for the more nervous person the instructors were patient and encouraging.
The tents were basic but comfortable, they do get very chilly of a night time!
The food was very good and always hot and plenty available and all diets catered for.
There was never any time to get bored and the kids were always on the go!
My only quips would be the showers/toilets, they were a little grubby, but then the camp was a little muddy so I suppose it was too be expected. If you don't like getting wet or dirty then this isn't for you, but we would definitely go back for another holiday.
All in all it was a fantastic break for everyone and well worth the money paid :-)

Brecon The Pits
We have recently returned from Acorns Brecon site. The food was awuful and more than a dozen guests came down with food posioing, which the staff on site intitally denied but then when so many people were effected they finally admitted was down to the food. Once back I contacted Head Office who then denied it and said people were ill as they drank too much alcohol!!!! These were young children who were sick along with some adults. They simply want to pretend it didn't happen, but it did. Avoid at all costs as the company customer service sucks, the staff on site are also fed up and told me how they had to pay £200 a month to eat the awful food provided and they had no choice. Never a gain would I use Acorn Adventure and if you are reading this I would recommend you look else where as there are many much bete adventure companies out there.

Awful Facilities
Booked a week in Brecon Beacons and left after 2 days. Tent had the most awful smell of urine and I had to weed along the edges as stinging nettles were growing inside the tent. Shower blocks were dirty and in need of modernisation. There were a couple of really good instructors but the majority had a can't be bothered attitude and a couple of them were just plain rude. There was little instruction on how to do the activities and they were pretty tough for younger children. When I made a complaint the response was pretty much it was unfortunate about the weather which I'd not even mentioned. We Are regular campers so expected basic but it was terrible. They then offered a 10% discount on a holiday next year as a good will gesture!!! It was a complete waste of money and I certainly wouldn't ever subject my family to another one.
