Does What It Says On The Tin
Used Nochex to make a donation to a charity collection. My payment went through clean as a whistle - not much to say after that! The payment pages I had to fill in were straightforward and simple. The payment pages had the same appearance as the charity I was making the payment to, though I could tell from the URL that I was on the Nochex website and was very secure. After the payment was complete I was returned to the charity website, which is helpful. And, I received a receipt from Nochex and the charity to indicate that the payment was successful.

Be very careful before using this company. They have taken over €2000 of our customers money and refuse to release it, give any reason why they will not release it, give any timescale as to when, if ever they will release it. Read on-line reviews. Not to be trusted

My daughter ordered a iPhone unlocked code that was supposed to be delivered by 3:00pm that was never sent all I want us my money back this is why you tell these kids to be careful ordering online look at they reviews first.smh give me my money.

Failed To Mount Proper Chargeback Defence
Nochex failed to mount a proper chargeback defence despite providing proof that would have no other outcome that defence win. They also failed to comply with card scheme rules timescales. Matter referred to financial ombudsman and small claims court to recover funds they owe.
Be very careful if you do you use them. I wish I have googled "nochex review" and read the countless horror stories about chargebacks, suspended accounts and withholding money prior to switching from PayPal to them, needless to say shortly after starting to use them I decided it was a good idea to revert back to PayPal, something just does not add up with this company and their service, I think they need an audit, something fishy going on!
Just to complete your review, the Ombudsman did not find in your favour. However, as a gesture of goodwill we did compensate you. Following the Ombudsman's decision you decided not to pursue your court action.
NoChex paid compensation following investigation from the financial Ombudsman. It wasted many months of time and expense, so if you do not want to experience the same, do not use NoChex.

It is not "actually with the issuer of the card" at all.
You provided me a conclusive final decision days after the card scheme rules expiry date, stating that the chargeback disputed was unsuccessful despite providing invoices, delivery tracking, recipient signature, GPS co-ordinates of delivery, delivery company email confirmation, telephone transcript from recipient staying they have indeed received the goods, so how on earth having provided conclusive proof can a bank decide that they had not received the goods!?
Despite failing to comply with card scheme rules in terms of the deadlines for charegbacks, when I challenged you regarding the matter and complained, you then took the immediate and unnecessary action of disabling my account and refusing me access to any of my records and funds.
I shall update this post once the financial ombudsman and small claims court action has been concluded.

Won't Give Me My Money And Terrible Cusotmer Service
From the start Nochex were terrible. At one point a NoChex rep though he had put me on hold, but I could hear him and his buddies make fun of me and laughing at me. At that point I was just joining! I asked him why he was laughing at me, and I could hear in his voice he was chocked that I could hear him. When I tried to close my account a few years later it still had £190 pounds in it. They said I could not withdraw that for about a year as there was a minimum balance. Now I am trying to get my money but when I try to log in it says the account has been suspended due to inactivity. I have tried to get this fixed for over a week, but no word from NoChex!
The fact that you did not supply us with your account details suggests that you did not have a legitimate complaint.
I have been dealing with NoChex via email and called them, but they were not willing to give me the rest of my money back. :-(
I used to put up to £10,000 worth of orders though NoChex per month, but you just can't do that with a company that is this untrustworthy!

NoChex have now responded, but have said that my account has incurred "some dormancy fees" while it was not used. That is despite the fact that they forced me to leave money in the account (I was not allowed to withdraw it all when trying to close the account). They have given me £40.60 back, I'm waiting to hear about to £100+ balance...

I Have Found A Better Solution Than Nochex
i first joined or started using nochex about 3 years ago, the start up process was like nochex did everything possible to not give me the account, credit checks and id checks and deposits and and and , it was a pain and i remember feeling really hacked off with the process and then the clunkiness and lack of functionality for the platform.
but went with is for 3 years gradually finding other ways of processing payments, mostly the people at nochex are helpful and polite which used to come as a shock to me when i was so frustrated by their system. cussing them out daily , we wasted weeks of time working to their model and system and APIs

Been with nochex for a over 2 years now, the payment gateway is very simple to integrate and user friendly, iv not had any problems in two years. the only reason I am on first name terms with some of the nochex team is because every now and then they will drop me some expert advice that is only of benefit to me. I was advised to open a twitter account and given advice on how to tweet. they even had a quick look at my website to check all as it should be. I think nochex know that it is in their interest to make sure you are making the best of your business.

After several years of operation of our account Nochex suddenly decided that website hosting (our business) is a prohibited activity and they gave us just 7 days notice to find alternative arrangements!!
During the course of the operation they retained £600 against the possibility of chargebacks which we only ever had once to the tune of £15. There were no monthly statements as you could get with a bank for accounting purposes.
Use PayPal. Better still get your customers to pay by Internet bank transfer and get your money instantly with no commission deductions.

In the case of Maximillian151 it would appear that a retention was applied to protect shoppers, though without knowing anything about this writer it is very difficult to say. As a rule we only retain funds if we think there is a probability that your customers will ask for refunds, so I assume there is an expectation that they will ask you for their money back. Very helpful - I was looking for an alternative to PayPal and when I saw that Nochex retained a balance of which no amount or percentage was given I thought no way. Not At All Bad
I have been using nochex for around 4 years and have had absolutely no problems at all, Yes they take fee but that's all normal. I have withdrawn money again with absolutely no problems .. When I do have a problem I email them they answer quick enough .. My only problem is integration on my website is a bit broke but will get there in the end

Nochex are extremely reliable and trustworthy and have been integrated with Opencart ecommerce as standard for many years.
I have always received polite, prompt help from them and they have always solved any issues I've had with Opencart for me.
I've even received extra help with SEO ideas and more.
I don't understand the bad reviews on here and if you already use Nochex fear not! They are a truly helpful and genuine company.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them simply because of all the effort they put in to help their customers.
Im sure an employee of Nochex would recommend their own company giving them top marks but we all know how they operate so please stop giving the wrong advice to people. This company is the worst merchant in the UK. Even if it costs £100+ to set up account with a different merchant I urge you to do as you will save more time and money. Avoid nochex at all costs!

Can a pre-authorisation of payment show as a debit transaction in my bank account? Is that possible?
Has Nochex any responsibility if they become aware the trader for whom they are processing the finances, is not responding to client queries about non delivery of goods and appears not to be trading any longer, but the website, to all intents and purposes may well be still attracting new clients?
Nochex won't provide the same level of cover as someone like Paypal who might by giving you an automatic refund but they will contact the seller on your behalf to regain losses but it does have to be authorised by the seller. If they are not able to contact the seller but there are funds in the sellers account then they can issue a refund.
Just to be fair though a buyer still has his/her legal rights under the distance selling regulations although I would recommend being sure about your purchase. I have managed to lose money on a dodgy seller even with a Paypal account due to time constraints so I would always recommend caution when buying.
