Used to be a convenient service if there was no mobile phone service or you had no credit. This week it has decided that it does not allow mobile devices to use their service!

Cardboardfish. The website that lets you text a friend in exchange for an add pop-up for a product you'll never want. Sounds like a deal. Until you try to send your friend that all important "hey, urgently need to contact you, but no credit" text, when it will curl its toes up and die, claiming the service will re-start in 10 minutes. So you wait, and go to send another text. Oh but wait, now it decides "nope, you can't send that, it is a duplicate of the previous failed message and I suspect it of duplicate spam" at which point all your plans go to hell in a hand-cart.

Oh and don't bother re-writing your message or digging out the thesaurus - it won't work. Your message could be the polar opposite of the previous one and it will still refuse to send it because it detects it as a duplicate.

Quite frankly I think you will have a better time catching a feral pidgeon, tying your message to its leg and just PRAYING the pidgeon actually even goes vaguely in the right direction. Your message will stand a greater chance of arriving and will definitely beat CBFSMS to the recipient.

Whatever you do. Never. Never ever. Never in a million years give cardboardfish any money or custom. Do not recommend them, do not speak of them fondly. Because whether you do or not, I predict all you will get in return is Error 500 - CBFSMS has screwed its brain cell and suspects all your messages of being duplicate spam.

I have used this since I was about 14 and i'm now 27. As far as I can see it has not changed not even the website design and that is very rare in this day and age. If it Aint broke and all that.

It works 100% but free messages can only be sent at every 0'clock 10 past 20 past half past etc etc i think the programme is reset at every 10 min so this happens if you get reply thats 1 free message to be sent anytime these don't have to wait until the next 10 20 30 these can be sent at 6 min past if that was the time a person without a reply would have wait the exta 4 mins until it was 10 past.The main point people need to understand is don't try to send a message until the time is o'clock 10 pst 20pst half pst 20to 10to these are the onlytimes messages can be sent and cbfsms works 24 hours a day

Well I would just like to say thank you, thank you, thank you! For just being there on my computer when I have run out of phone credit and I can text someone and ask them to call me back. Don't know what I would do without this service. I really dont. I've told loads of people about it. I think it's a life saver! I really do.

Yes it does have 10 minute intervals but if you write your message before then send it on the exact minute its always fine for me.

you can send as many messages you want using that method.

This site obviously is great for people who have no credit and need to contact people,

If this website was removed i dont know what id do it has saved me so many times in bad situations!!!

BE AWARE! 2010 september update... started sending for fun being skint to top up orange uk. this site ACTUALLY deducts 5 GBP off from the receiver. IT IS NOT FOR FREE THEN! i might have lost some (phone) friends through this. may cbfsms.com rot in greed...

Easy Simple and does what it says on the box...

Disable replies coz that will cost the recipient £1.50 but says that clearly on the page.

a very, very long time, actually i don't think i would ever stop using

it for as long as it remains online.

If they could connect this site to mobile phones as one of they're phone

deals (i.e facebook,twitter ect.) i think it would be a brilliant idea

with alot more users across the uk.
