Sold To Tsohost And Now Is Rubbish
I have been with 5quidhost for years and had no problems but I have had nothing but problems since TSOHOST bought 5quidhost out and am now looking for a new host.TSOHOST support is very poor BEWARE.
Been With 5quid/tentahost 9 Years - Now Thinking Of Moving
A move for us isn't trivial - we have 72 accounts in our reseller package.
Since TSO took over, support response has slowed, and they don't seem to be as knowledgable. This in spite of a conversation with their chief, who said response would be better.
Now have problems with 3 WordPress sites which, following an upgrade to 4.5.2 are not functioning properly. I've tested one site, copied to EvoHosting, where it works perfectly ... but they don't seem to be able to discover what the problem is with the server.
The staff at 5Quid have been brilliant over the years - what a shame.
Now looking at Nimbus.

Support Going Downhill
I have been hosting various sites, large and small with 5quid, and over the years their support has been excellent, with highly knowlegable staff going the extra mile to sort out an issue.
However since tso host have taken over my last two queries have been patronising and unhelpful. I can't afford to have sites down or compromised and so I am steadily migrating away from them as each site come up for renewal.
Their platform is ok, but that's just a commodity and there's plenty more powerful / capacious offerings out there - the difference is the support when things go wrong, and that has slipped.
It's a shame, they were my go-to hosts for many years.

I have been with 5quidhost for several years. My site has always been up with no problems. I have been able to extend my site with different options. And their technical support is great. They are very responsive and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend them to users. They offer a great cheap option to get started and can provide more as you grow.

I reviewed this hosting company many years back and was singing their praises, not any longer, after now 5Squidhost and their reseller division ( tentahost ) being acquired by paragon the support ( phone ) has dropped to what really should be rated as 1 star.
The actual platform is ok, and in fact the new servers for wordpress for example are much faster, But on April 13th 2016 their SSL certificates expired, after filling out a support ticket and waiting for a response, i realised with horror that it was the entire server ( secure.quksdnd8.net ) that was in effect broken, affecting by entire client base on the reseller account!! , So the paragon group as it is now "does" have a number you can call, it took me some considerable time to convince the "support operator" that it was NOT my fault / nor my settings, and eventually she came back and confirmed it was at their end.
To be fair most accounts are now back up and running correctly, with the exception of one or two still seeing the old expired certificate, And they did address the issue fairly quickly, BUT the reason i picked Tentahost ( aka 5Squidhost ... now Paragon ) was the support we had in Edinburgh which was a breath of fresh air, not any longer
I've given this review 3 stars rather than 1, as the platform still works and is ok, but the support now no longer deserves to be 5, And if there are any repeats of similar ( or even new mess ups ) then i will be jumping ship to another reseller host.
Such a shame that these guys sold out and to see this company slide away from being great

As The Years Have Gone On They Have Got Worse Slower
I started years ago with them , they were great never had too much time to resolve issues, discuss and advise but as the years gone on, they quality and service has diminished, they now have distain and attitude whenever you do get in contact with them. Now our accounts are dead or migrated and we are unknown in the dark on hold awaiting a response from something we have no idea as killed our accounts.
AAArrrghhh I can not use firms like this anymore.
Now being diverted to TSO hosts on the ans machine whoever they are? What the hell is going on with firms like this does anyone realise these big cockups make us change providers next time around.
Well we may be forced to do this before the day is out.
Sorry, my mistake. A few minutes ago I was informed by email that indeed, 5Quidhost was taken over by TSOHost back in February, and TSOHost DO provide phone support. Strange that I wasn't informed prior to now, but that long delay is probably another symptom of the takeover. This also probably explains the noticeable drop in the quality of the support I've noticed since February. I have been a very happy 5quidhost reseller for many years, but reading reviews here since the takeover, and reviews of TSOHost over the past year, it appears that TSOHost are just another mediocre hosting company. Very sad. I fear it will be very difficult to find another hosting company as good as 5quidhost :-(
The reseller part of 5squid ( if not the entire brand ) has been sold , ssl certificates failed yesterday, found their phone number and was told its my settings, only after insisting it's not, did the operator say 'actually it's at our end we are looking into it', the advice I got over the phone was not great, even worse for a reseller account
It's a real shame I've been with these guys for over 6 years, but after them being acquired by paragon ( seems they have bought the entire brand )
Most of the ssl issues are now sorted, but still a few accounts are glitch img , and after dealing with support yesterday and how they handled it, it seems in going to have to shift my entire reseller account and all clients elsewhere, Such a shame these guys where great, not any longer
Review doesn't mention telephone support but does describe exactly the problems we have had recently with this hosting company. So, I don't think its a mix-up, just another company that has sold its soul, doesn't look after its customers anymore and should be avoided.
5Quidhost don't do support by phone, so you are mixing them up with someone else.

Knowlegable And Patient
Since starting with 5 quid host at the latter end of the year they have been great. From transferring my hosting to guiding me through small issues.
Their technical expertise is superior, and their staff are patient with a technical newbie.
The pricing is very reasonable for the packages and they get back to you speedily to resolve any problems. Highly recommended.

Just getting started. Had a look at lots a web hosting sites as our website is quite small. 5QuidHosting seemed to offer the best deal and so far the service has been pretty good.
Once I've got a bit more adventurous I hope make more use of the new services that are available that our previous host didn't provide.
Hoping to make more use of cPanel now I've found a good online tutorial.

I upgraded to better hosting a long while back but they are sending me marketing emails without an unsubscribe link.
