Lack Of Communication Means No Freecycling!
I've attempted to Freecycle in two different areas, each bearing the same poor result: Without explanation, my items weren't listed for the broader community, resulting in lost time and benefit.
I followed the guidelines and would have corrected any other issue raised. However, the moderators typically chose to ignore requests for clarification. After one month, I decided to contribute through other services.
Freecycle is run by volunteers, but moderators who do not follow through waste contributor's time, which is money. And some community members lose opportunity to benefit from free quality recyclables. For these reasons, I also gave Freecycle a rating of "terrible" for its monetary value.
How The Hell Do You Use It
I've been working in IT for 30 years, but getting into freecycle to donate has proved too complex. I cant be bothered.
Mucho Junk Mail With No Use Of Service
As soon as I started getting to the idea of recycling my household items, I couldn't log on to utilize the webpage. I attempted to write the moderator and my emails were returned undelivered.
It's not friendly and you receive a lot of junk mail. Maybe they need new moderators.
I Believe This Group Is Resist!
tried joining this group and was rejected every time, with no good reason. moderators are rude and ignorant.
a complete joke, this group should be closed down, and proper experienced, professional members should be selected as moderators.

Too Complicated!
Okay... the idea of 'Freecycle' is brilliant but the site is
rubbish! It's such a task to get to the ads. Finding the location section took an age and when I finally entered my area it came up with an incorrect webpage! I haven't found the ads yet but If I had a year to I might... just, though! It could have been great but the web design is awful, which is a shame. Looks like it's trawling through skips for me!

Worst. Decision. Ever.
I needed to furnish my new step kids room, so I tried freecycling...bad idea! The emails are relentless! Even after changing email preferences. Then, when I tried leaving a group, I was told "I wasn't subscribed to that group". Even though I got 50 emails a day from them. Then, I deleted my account, and guess what?! STILL getting emails! It's worse than trying to cancel the free trial membership from AOL (internet, remember?). The. WORST!!! I'm border lining on changing my email!!
But, I guess if you have nothing else to do all day, and no money, it's great!
What A Joke!
I am an avid recycler, a "Nate Burkis" wanna-be. I love to find old furniture & misc items to keep them out of the landfills. I went through the motions of completing an application & a lengthy wait to be approved for membership. I felt my explanation & motive for joining was 100% justifiable. So...the next day, I get a big pie in the face & was declined. I felt as if I was applying for a mortgage or buying a car. I don't know what they have in mind when they are reviewing these applications, but it seems like a trendy, high society snob organization that is in much need of improvement! I live in the Port Orange, Florida area...near Daytona Beach. I don't know if each distric is different, BUT I DO KNOW they suck here!

Painful To Navigate And Join
I just wanted to check if anyone was getting rid of some baby equipment and oh my goodness, the rigmarole of joining! I'm a confident I.T. user but navigating the site and working out how to join wasn't intuitive, and once you did join it wasn't obvious how to access the ads... then it became clear that you had to join a "sub" network (for which you need to set up a Yahoo account....). Having trudged past those barriers, you then try and search for what you want and it brings up every advert ever posted, many that are years out of date. It's one of the worst websites I have ever used, such a shame - the concept is brilliant.
Freecycle
what a fantastic idea completely ruined by a poor implementation. trying to join is a complex maze of unnecessary rubbish, obviously put together by someone without a clue.
this service is wide open and waiting for someone to step in and launch a user friendly version.
