I had been quoted with a rip off price so I used yell . Within 2 days my work was done at a very competitive price by ash and bloom in newton abbot .

I will use this service again.

Really pleased with the work that he did.

Cleaned all my paths front and back and two patio areas and a hardstanding and it looks pristine.

I posted a request and got a response, which is good, but then I couldn't see any way to edit or amend or delete the request. So how do tradespeople know if you're still looking for someone or not? If I'm correct that there is no way to do that then that makes the system useless, imo.

It may be because I'm doing it from a phone rather than a laptop but I expect many people do that these days. The Yell website did not let me see my request or do anything with it once posted. All I got was an email saying "Your enquiry is live. Post another enquiry." I would rather have had an email saying "Your enquiry is live. Check the wording, amend it or delete it."

So now I have personal details including a phone number on the website, with no way to access it or delete it. Where are my data protection rights, eh, Yell?

I would definitely not recommend this or do it again, until there's an edit button at least!

Advertised a potential job, had a quick answer, quick quote qhich was reasonable and have someone local - a family business with good reviews - lined up if the house purchasde goes through.

Proof will be in the sweeping obviously.

Happy at this point.

Yell used to be good because it gave a list of nearby businesses plus indicating ones that had been with Yell for a long time. Have just tried using Yell but was told to wait for someone (presumably an interested business) to get in touch. NOBODY rang. Hopeless. Waste of time.

Trying to contact my usual tree surgeon. Therefore surprised to receive 3 telephone calls from other individuals. All sounded enthusiastic and available, so an option to consider - Thank you.

Wanted help to sort out a CCTV problem. I gave a short description of the problem I was having and within half an hour I got a response and he came the next morning and fixed my CCTV system but also a problem I had with my alarm. He was very kind and helpful. His fee was lower than I expected so was really please. As a woman in her 70s who lives alone now feel safe and comfortable knowing it’s all working

It’s the first time I have used YELL won’t be the last. Just give it a try that’s all I did and the result was excellent

was told that i would receive a price to scrap my car never got one thats 3 week sold it in meantime to a company who did what they said unlike yell

Put a notice of what needed fixing re guttering and got about six replies that same day. Delighted it was so easy and avoided time wasters by being specific. Would recommend

Not worth the effort, a complete waste of time, zero relies
