I have filled out a few applications for dogs and theres quit a few to choose from which is great. I am having a hard time dealing with some of the foster people that have the dogs. I know they are looking for the best place for the dog but I am finding that some of them are going to far. One told me in a email that I should not apply for a dog based on looks and another wasn't able to part with the dog yet the posting is still up on the site. If you want to help and stop puppy mills this is not the way to go about it. All I wanted to do was to save a dog and give them a loving home. I had to put two of my dogs down last year and its been really hard on me plus going through this. Now I will be buying a puppy from a breeder.

Petfinder is a great idea. It helps connect people with pets that need homes. Needs to be updated more often. Unfortunately, most of the pets listed on the site are already adopted. The site is just not kept up to date. Therefore I do not recommend petfinder.org.

I think that Petfinder is GREAT and highly recommend people look for their next pet here instead of buying from a pet store because that just promotes PUPPY MILLS AND COMMERCIAL BREEDERS who make animals suffer!
