They are all a bit of 'creative' tbh but some are worse than others

I'm a rapidly deteriorating male in his late 40s so I'm not expecting much anyway - but what I'm finding here is false profiles of attractive foreign (usually Russian) women and then some pretty low standard British birds who like me are no oil paintings but seem to want a hybrid of Brad Pitt Richard Brandon and Dirk Diggler!

Sometimes chaps you've just got to accept, like me, that your time is up and you can't put in what The Lord left out.

These sites trade on loneliness and the overriding male need to 'strain the sack' once in a while.

Some of the women I met had 'high moral' expectations but really were just after a leg over same as I was - just with preferably someone richer better looking and more largely endowed - then I'm sure the noble principles would have melted away like fridge frost !

Go in with your eyes open chaps then you won't be disappointed!

I joined recently and was then told 2 weeks later they had gone into administration! A company called Search Mate has taken over and they seem to be really helpful & are trying to clean things up. Big job if you ask me reading these reviews! Still I am hopeful, the new people are very helpful and seem to be professional......time will tell!

Met one man (pilot) through dateline platinum - I foolishly thought I would meet a better class of man. the only thing this man wanted was money and somewhere to stay. He said he had been married once it turned out he had been married 4 times not to mention the numerous women he had duped. He moved quickly and when I was "hooked" so he thought, he changed from this nice man to a nasty control freak. I found out he was still seeing one of his ex wives during the time he was with me! Icheated me out of my car and stole my daughters bike - said he was taking it to be repaired in Yorkshire (thats where he lived) never saw it again until my daughter received notice from the DVLA that she was no longer the registered keeper. I found out that he had travelled and lived in many different parts of the country with many different women. He rarely paid anything towards food and never took me anywhere without me paying. Please be careful when online dating- if their profile seems too good to be true, then you can be sure it is! I threw him out in the end - I couldnt afford him any longer!

What can I say that has not already been said? I echo the sentiments that Dateline Platinum is a total waste of time and money. Furthermore, I have had a tedious time getting my D Debit stopped. What a con! I would implore anyone contemplating parting with any money to join this service to think twice and heed the reviews. You would meet more people pushing your trolley round Asda than the contacts (NOT!) provided by dateline Platinum.

Total scam...I am quite worried about the fact that you cannot cancel your membership online and have to phone them in office hours; I don't want to have to call them from work. Also, I am concerned about the security of my bank details, as the site is clearly a con.

Total con. Was told there were lots of people in my area (suffolk), there weren't. Was only offered people too far away, and then only about 10 people altogether. Never met a single person in 7 months. Rubbish, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone unless they like wasting money.

Like so many others, I was told there were lots of people in my area, it turned out to be two and they were both over thirty miles away. I asked for my money back straight away, only to find they have gone into receivership, however they are still advertising.

I agree with all the other complainants. I was assured there were plenty of other members in my county and this turned out to be completely untrue once they had my money. The profile they wrote for me was badly written and inaccurate. The customer service is extremely rough and ready. A complete waste of money.

They have cogon into administration Dec 31sr 2010. STOP your DD's otherwise you will loose even more money

Since having been joined this site for 2 months now I have not had one single contact from anyone on the site. I have tried to get in touch with Dateline and am passed around trying to cancel my membership to a phone line constantly ringing out. The only time they want to talk to you is beforehand to get your money and bank details. I am considering going to Trading Standards.
