After signing up for the 3-day trial I've been cancelling the automatic subscription renewal (after 2 days). I've had to phone to do this and found it surprisingly complicated, more so than with other sites. As for the site itself, I found it technically confusing and was dismayed that I wasn't inclined to contact any of the matches offered.

Friends reunited dating offer a 3 day membership offer, what isn't clear is that at the end of the 3 days they will automatically put you on their subscription for a month and then they help themselves to £39.99 from your account instead of the £3 odd that they advertise. When you cancel the subscription and ask for your money back they say its on their payment page. To add insult to injury their staff are rude when you speak to them refuse to assist and say you should be more careful in future when you purchase it online. Well I know for myself I won't be recommending them to a friend.

I have been using FRD for about 4 weeks now. I have received several hundred winks / hugs / kisses etc. 95% of these are from scammers, nearly all of which end up telling you they are currently working for a NGO in Ghana and eventually get round to telling you they need some money. FRD is linked to several other dating sites (including "Girls date for free.com") and I think this leads to the mass infiltration by scammers. FRD are obviously completely negligent in carrying out checks on "members" of are just so unscrupulous that they want to flood their site with so many profiles to look like the site has a lot to offer. If you are a man looking for a good dating website - AVOID THIS ONE!!!!!

I've had a page on Friends Reunited Dating for about four years. A few people contacted me, about four a year. Suddenly the site has generated quite extraordinary communications. Several every day, all exhorting me to 1) click on the website and 2) pay a subscription to read these letters. Hmm, Four a year becomes seven a day.That's more than 2500 a year!

My vanity won't let me believe this is marketing-ploy by Friends Reunited Dating management to achieve 1)thousands of clicks and 2) encouraging me to subscribe (I don't!). I'm 73 and I'm getting loads of twenty-two year olds so it's going to be Christmas every day.

I don't understand why there is so much negative comment about Friends Reunited Dating look what it's going to do for me. Seven contacts a day! And me 73. Course I'll never make 74........

What can I say about this dating site apart from its a COMPLETE waste of money.

I paid £18 for one month and renewed it for six months at the same price all the time. There is an option to do 6 or 12 months etc., and if you dont watch out when you first register for full membership they will take the 6 month membership by default BE CAREFUL..

Once on there it is FULL and I mean FULL of scammers and marrieds, I would add liars but thats not their fault, and the scammers are enough believe me!

Do not be fooled into thinking that because you are paying, you have filtered out all the idiots cause you are kidding yourself.

There is absolutely nobody on there worth talking to, and it seems that on a lot of occasions whilst you've paid full price they offer knock down joining fees of £5 per month to people who have been on there before and gone to entice them to come back, or do a marketing venture to people who have never been on. This in turn brings on all the scammers, scroats, dead legs, and liars in the world, absolutely ridiculous and very unfair to the people who have paid top wack and who believe in doing so have filtered all the dead legs out, not so.

One thing I did notice to anybody who is still thinking of joining...if you try to put your mobile number or telephone number in to the emails they will try and edit them out, so the person you are trying to connect with does not receive it, thinks you are not interested and eventually goes. That obviously serves to keep you on the site.

In a specific 'search' they will not bring everybody up who is in your area and on line at the time of asking..this is also a marketing ploy to drive traffic to people who are not getting a lot of emails...it is totally ridculous.

I will never go on this site again, EVER. complete waste of money, profiles that havent been used since god knows when, scammers that cant speak english let alone type it, marrieds, and the rest you just wouldn't touch with a six foot barge pole and a paper rammed bag on your head..OMG

PS - I have only given this dating site a score because I have to and it will not let me leave it blank

most of the men on this site are deluded, most are in their 40s or 50s and all want between 30 and 38 year old women, what 30 year old wants a overweight balding middle aged man, most women would want a toyboy with a young toned body but we know its just a fantasy, whats the point of paying £100 a year for this site, my advice is dont put age down then maybe men will be more realistic.

In my experience of FRD, i would say do not waste your money subscribing.

have a look around by all means, but check carefully how many people of the opposite sex in your local area, are actually active.

My photo took 3 days to be accepted, during this time i had several views, but due to there being to photo, they moved on and did not revisit my profile.

I wrote to admin explaining this, and also suggesting a few improvements, but thet replied some 3 days later, saying they deemed my profile to be unsuitable. !!!

Another annoying aspect of the site is, thats its impossible to see who has been looking at you until you subscribe, now thats plain stupid, and they are missing a trick here.

This site appears to have the highest ratio per members of "Scammers". I was unfortunate enough to get into communication with two of them. I consider myself to be highly intelligent and streetwise, however I managed to get sucked in by their smoooth talk. Fortunately in both cases I "smelt a rat" when they asked for money. Both of them had stolen someone elses identitiy inlcuding photographs. See: www,scamwarners.com. I reported both these to the "abuse manager" at FR - and despite filling in a detailed account of both of these "members" twice, I was told by FR that they "didn't" get all of my message. When I finally did it again for the 4th time, I did get a reply which was very vague and "woolly". And yes - as another reviewer has pointed out - they do tend to remove correspondence from members at short notice - because most of them are "scammers" and have only joined for the "5-day upgrade"! which I have recommended to FR that they discontinue this - once again no comment - how can they possibly cheque out someones' authenticity in 5 days when they have paid via mobile phone? In summary - don't bother to join!!
