Unpredicatable Compared To Before.

Was a good site a while back perhaps 2 years to 1 year ago but now not sure what they are trying to acheive. People who one is chatting to suddeny disappear. All in all a waste of time.

Such A Shame

I joined the site very near the beginning and it was wonderful. It was a true online community where you could 'meet and talk' with a feeling of safety.Meets were organised by the owners to enable members to meet each other in person and as a little thank you.Slowly it became a dating site also it was then it was sold.

Since it has been sold as a member you never know what is going to happen one day its a free site the next payment is demanded to participate in the chat rooms or the forum. This has happened on more than one occasion. The last occasion was when I logged on on January 1st 2017 only to find i can no longer access the areas i had previously. There was no time to let any friends know a e mail address so you could keep in touch. Members have been banned from the site for doing so. Yes it was free (and still claims to be for certain activities) however to me it makes little business sense not to give people an option before making changing the membership terms even for the hosts i can only assume that it was so people could not give each other their details and communicate afterwards. It now advertises chat room which are empty and a forum which is not used and asks for a monthly fee to use them. I did a little research and it appears there are no directors and the company has been dissolved however, they are still charging people to join the site. BUYER BEWARE

Not A Shadow Of Its Former Self.

Initially Makefriendsonline was a very successful, friendly and active friendship site run by people who had an interest in both the site and its members. It was sold to new owners who reneged on the conditions that were agreed for the sale by increasing membership fees and reducing facilities, resulting in members leaving in droves. The present owner seems intent on screwing members for what he can get, packing the site with bogus members, profiles. The parent company SkyStem Ltd was dissolved in August 2016, now shows no directors and has little by way of assets. A sister site Anotherfriend is based in Ireland and is run in a similar way.

This site is a shadow of its former self and has survived due to the reputation it generated in its original format under its original owner

I doubt if this site will survive until the end of 2017 and would advise against paying any fees - it's about to go down the tubes, in the name of greed !!.

Employees Of The Site Will Pretend To Be Users. Ev

Employees of the site will pretend to be users. Eventually after a few messages they will say they want to send you pics trying to get you to pay the monthly reoccurring charge.

Just another trash site trying to trick you into a monthly bill that is very difficult to cancel.

Not Impressed.

I joined this site last month in hopes of making new friends online, and with a website that directly tells you to make new friends online, I was optimistic; yet kept expectations low because of the unknown. This website first of all, is really difficult to navigate around. It's like trying to go through a maze. Secondly, you have to pay to get "special features". If I'm making a friend online, I shouldn't have to pay for anything, and nobody else should either. I feel it would be a waste of money.

The quality of people there are below average. I feel the demographics for the majority are 40+, and people who are my age (I'm 19 so 18-25) are quite non-existent. The ones who are on that site, send you one message, then disappear off the face of the earth. When you do engage in a conversation with someone, you're only allowed to send 10 messages a day. Only 10. So, there's another downfall.

Oh, and don't bother trying to talk to someone who's 40+ when you're my age, because they'll tell you to go "make friends who are your age". Like being friends with someone younger than you is not acceptable?? Not a welcoming bunch, that's for sure.

Would NOT recommend this to anyone. If you want to make new friends, you're better off going to another site.

This Site Is Awful!

I somehow became a subscribing member without ever signing up for it! I know for a fact because I use this site more for fun than anything serious and there is no way I would pay for it. I logged on one day and it said congratulations you are a gold member. I've been trying to get to the registration page but it has been loading for about 15 minutes, while the rest of the site loads perfectly fast. This site is complete bull and I would highly recommend you avoid this site at all costs!

Make Friends On Line, Not A Friendship Site Anymore

i was a member for a long time a few years back and found it to be in the main pretty good in fact it was so good i even met my husband there.we both left tho for the same reasons stated by other reviewers.I received a begging email to re-join for free and as i met my husband there decided to rejoin to see what the place was like and see if i could catch up with some of the mates id lost touch with.all i can say now is that its probably great if the 6 people that is now the clique will let you in without being downright abusive, about your spelling or lack of it.or they let you post without acknowledging your there.initially to some they appear friendly but that's to make you think everyone is getting on then after a week or so the abuse and ignorance starts and this is ignored by admin, people have thread and posts removed without any warning on anything that can generate a proper and fruitful discussion dross and ego stroking is pretty much all you find.internal mail is terrible full of spammers and explicit offers of intercourse of a sexual nature, at first funny but are very persistent and become irritating.i got these despite the fact id mentioned on the boards and my profile that i am happily married and was just there to post, catch up with mates and have a laugh.some of the adverts are a pain too and are for seedy things like tai brides and a couple of the pics show girls who look worryingly under age. to be honest i wish i hadn't bothered and warn others to stay away.

Has Noone Noticed This Site Is Fraudulant?

Fake messages, they just want your card details to rip you off, if your getting ripped off now, repot it to authorities or something

Mfo Takes No Action On Vulgarity And Abuse On The Site.

I have been on the site for a few years now and have metsome people from there. But recently I got an abusive email from one of the users and so reported it to the administrators hoping they will do something about it. Unfortunately they took no action and left me thinking vulgarity and abuse are fine on there. They said they cannot control what is said in private emails. Is that the right attitude? Go ahead if you don't mind rude emails and poor service.

Scammers United :)

Latest update of this appalling site.

If you go to the site (you don't even have to log-in these days) and see the number of members that are online, they aren't actually all online as, if you have a look at some of the profiles, you can see they last logged in at least 18 hours previously. When Admin were asked about this, you get the standard response that the member probably hadn't bothered to log off. What happened to the usual thing of most sites that, if no activity was seen in the last 30 minutes/hour/2hours etc then you were automatically logged out. So obviously this gives a totally incorrect view of the site as new prospective members will think its a buzzing, lively place. Not true at all.

Another thing to note: most of the profiles seem to have been 'poached' from other places as many of them have the same details, ie they are all calm, quiet etc and like restaurants, walks. Be wary of those of the age of 32 - they are all Aquarians and scammers. Look up any user name on the internet and, for the most part, you will see the name appear in many different places. Photos have also been acquired elsewhere - one is of a famous american actor/wrestler:) Do Admin do anything about this? Only if anyone bothers to report it, but you can't report the 100's that are there these days. One I managed to trace some way along the line - supposedly chinese in the UK. Profile in different areas but one site showed the email address. When this was searched you can guess where it originated from....yep Nigeria.

So please, for your own sanity, stay away from this place. The owners also run a site in Ireland, and from this it appears that they have a site on the national TV station as well as the national newspaper. All sites are pretty identical and the same scammers appear on all.

Q&A

JennyCastell

I joined this site a week ago but found it so difficult to navigate that I cancelled immediately and asked them not to take my money. They did. I sent an email and asked that they sent me confirmation of my cancellation and another when they did not reply. Now I am unable to even get onto the site. How can I ensure that no further monies are taken? I have thought of stopping my bank card.

Is it legal for a limited company to continue trading after being dissolved on 9th August 2016? This is the case with Skysystems Ltd who run Makefriendsonline.
