sourced the book I needed for my assignment to this website, newly published and £90 hardback elsewhere if available at all. Ordered quickly as only 8 left in stock (and far more people on my course than that!)

Then I read the reviews here and my heart sank. Oh dear what had I done, essay deadline looming, needed this book, no money to waste.

I emailed the company letting them know of my need for a quick delivery and got an almost immediate reply reassuring me the book will be dispatched the next day for delivery early the following week. That was Thursday afternoon. Today (Saturday) the book has arrived, well packaged.

I ordered 2 books in sept and they assured me they had them and would get them shortly, One of them was unavailable and it took them a month to discover this and to cancel my order. I have been waiting a month for them to refund the monies which they took immediately. I have resorted to my credit card issuer to try to obtain a refund.

I ordered a book for University from this company on 2 October (Accounting and Finance for Non Specialists 7th Edition). I was told by my lecturer to get the book as soon as possible and ordered it that very evening. A week later when I had not yet received the book I emailed the company to be told they were in the process of being taken over and my order would be dealt with shortly. 10 days after ordering I cancelled my order and re-ordered the book on amazon.co.uk which was received within 3 days. When I cancelled my order I received an email stating a refund would be received within 5 working days. Following numerous emails to the company and telephone calls which have been ignored I have not received my refund which is £38.21 and to a student like myself, quite a lot of money. I have contacted the credit card company and hope they will be able to help but in the meantime beware and stay clear of this company.

Pickabook was not able to deliver the book I ordered at said time. I choose to cancel the order and was told I would get I refund. A considerable amount of time has since passed and I have not gotten my money back. They have failed to respond to my mails. Avoid this company at all cost!

In my first two years of uni i found pickabook extremely useful, however this year I was repeatedly told my books would arrive 'end of this week.' A month later and term has already started and still no books! Not only this but when i checked my account i found that books i had paid for and had been displayed as 'ready to be shipped' were now out of stock...Many ignored emails and eventually a phonecall later i discovered that they had never possessed these books and a changeover of business meant every order had to be resent. I have finally cancelled my order and bought cheaper with waterstones. This site was great but unfortunately is now unreliable and chaotic, don't risk it!!

I ordered a book which was required urgently and was shown as being in stock. I received an email informing me that the delivery would be 1-2 business days, excellent I thought.

However 5 weeks later No Book, calls to the customer service showed little interest on their behalf. Things look up when I spoke to the financial Director who assured me the book would be in stock that day and posted that night. All lies as the book was not dispatched for another 5 days. So six weeks for a delivery promise of 1-2 days.

I certainly will not use this service again and would advise everybody else to avoid them as well.

Ordered a set of books from Pickabook on 10 days ago from their website which said that they had the items "in stock and ready for dispatch". They have still not arrived so I rang their customer services who told me that they had been having problems with the supplier i.e they did not have any stock. I needed these books urgently and have been let down. Order cancelled and new order placed with good old trusty Amazon.

Ordered a Book on the 1st Feb and it was delivered before 9 am on the 3rd Feb,superb delivery.Would not hesitate to recommend Pickabook to others,and will certainly deal with them again.Liked the layout of the website and ease of ordering.

Pickabook offers an exceptional level of service. The books I chose were two hardbacks by Orwell and Waugh and a paperback by Clive James. These were delivered not only on time, but early. They arrived in tip top condition, thanks to the very good standard of packaging. The courier (DHL) was polite and conscientious, ensuring that I received the package.(There are problems with my bell, as in not working!)

The quality of the books exceeded my expectations.

The web site is well planned and easy to follow, understand and use.

It is a pleasure to study such an attractive site. The reviews are so clear and easy to assimilate. It encourages one to indulge in more book buying! The type face is also well chosen, no strain, even for those of us not enjoying 20:20 vision.

The people who operate the business are extremely efficient and courteous.

I shall most definitely do business with them in the future and heartily recommend them to friends.
