I wished I'd discovered this site Read It Swap It www.ReadItSwapIt.co.uk, years ago. It's a good site for getting lots of cheap books.

Read It Swap It www.readitswapit.co.uk is a book swapping site. It is based on one-to-one swapping with no regard to item value - but thats fine, you always have the option to decline a swap and differences will balance out in the long run.

The site itself is simple, clean and easy to use. It does just what you need and nothing else. You add books for swapping by entering the ISBN code and indicate the books condition and you can add comments.

You can search the site for books and request them from their owner - the requestee then picks one of your books, or has the option to decline the swap. Then you post the book and click a link to say you've done so, and your new book turns up a few days later. The site keeps you informed with email notifications and its all for free (other than normal postage costs) . Adverts on the site are unobtrusive and they don't email you trying to sell you stuff or anything like that.

Swaps are based on trust, and I don't imagine the site maintainers would get involved if there were problems, but there is an ebay-style feedback system and I have had no problems so far.

My new years resolution was to do something with the stack of read books gathering dust in my cupboard and this is perfect. I love it!
