Caution With Audio Cds
Unclear information on the Audio CD's meant we got a delivery of MP3 CD's which apparently do not play on a CD player. No understanding at customer service despite being a a very loyal customer - disappointing and I shall shop elsewhere from now on.

Terrible Service Unhelpful Staff
Terrible service ordered books for daughter's birthday, ordered them on Monday delivery stated 3-5 working days, needed them for Saturday, received an email on the Friday to state items have just been dispatched, how is this 3-5 days delivery items have taken 4 days to be dispatched so I rang their customer services what a complete waste of time the lady I spoke to said we have been busy our new catalogue has just come out I didn't care that their catalogue had just come out I ordered my books on Monday and expected to have received them by now she wasn't helpful at all just kept saying how busy they were, this should have been on their website somewhere to state that dispatch would take so long she said I would receive my order on Monday I informed her that would be too late she couldn't have cared less why would she, the company has had my money that's all they are concerned about. Avoid this company like the plague I wish I had!!!!

Don't Buy Gifts There
I purchased some books as Christmas presents. The recipients had the same set, so I asked for a return. I was in formed that you needed to do it within 3 weeks of receipt. As I bought it early in December, this time was almost up by Christmas.
Anyway, I know I will never use them again and hope to help others from ending up in the same position.
The products were as decribed.
Terrible For Deliveries To Spain.
They seem like a good company and the website is very professional and works well, but I have not had a good experience with them due to problems with the delivery. I am ordering from Spain and the courier service that they use in Spain is terrible. This means that I have had problems receiving my order and I have had to argue with thebookpeople to redeliver my order. They also made me feel like it was my fault and that they were doing me a favor by redelivering the order. I've never had one issue with the hundreds of other orders I have made with Amazon. I'll be looking for a different book supplier in the future. If they read this, I hope they will take note and change their Spanish courier.

Yes the books are cheap. However packaging has gone down hill. Poorly packaged books arrived damaged. 2 emails on their contact form plus a 15 min wait on the phone each day for a week with no answer. In the end I gave up and got a credit card refund

Please Check Refunds From Book People!!!!
I have used the book people for years and have had a few bad books sent through but otherwise generally a good service. I have just had a very poor experience from them and am very disappointed by their customer service. Bought books that I wanted as presents for a trip aboard, paid the extra money for fast service. The books did not arrive as promised and hence I did not have the gifts for family as expected. Got an email offering 10% off the next order as an apology for "the inconvenience"!!! On return from my trip looked into my refund, the refund had NOT come through. Plus the postage on another item had not been refunded. On phoning them today there was NO apology from them, just a bit of confusion as to why it happened. I am really unimpressed with this and would say it is worthwhile to check all your dealings with them.

Could Do Much Better
Order took a week to arrive and 1 book was missing without any explanation. Seems to be a waste of time e-mailing and don't waste your time or money trying to phone; you won't get through! No information given on queue position etc, totally frustrating! It would seem that they are only interested in getting your money; Lord knows how long it will take to get a refund. My advice is go to Amazon; they offer a much better service. They might be slightly dearer on occasion but they have more interest in their customers!

Very Pleased
I have ordered a couple of times, including the Christmas holidays, to be delivered "across the pond" and both deliveries came within a few days. Excellent delivery, perfect condition, I am very pleased and would use them again. The postage was expensive, but the price of the books was a bargain.

Poor Delivery
Unfortunately the Book People seem to have developed a bad attitude to customer service so if you want to rely on getting your books when promised forget it. They have let us down by not even sending the books out until they were supposed to be here and when I rang to complain and sort out what could be done I got a man with a very bad attitude who seemed to think that he was doing me a favour just by talking to me. When I complained he put the phone down!! And this is to a customer who spent over £100. Not impressed!
