Bought a mid-range laptop around £500. Arrived OK and price looked good. On powering up the laptop showed a "no bootable device" message which to me means it cannot see the hard drive. Anyway it's a serious fault.
Tried to call their customer service but it is closed from 5pm Friday and for all weekend (this was 5.30pm on a Friday). So re-read their T&C, sent them a message on their contact page telling them about the fault and I was returning for a refund (and got an auto-reply confirming receipt of my message), and repacked the computer and sent it straight back next morning by insured courier (cost me over £25), requesting refund.
The following Monday afternoon I got the following email, which sets out the essence of by beef with this company:
"We have just received a parcel from you, with ACER unit inside.
We were surprised to get it because you have not contacted us before and informed us about any problems. Can you advise why please?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with replacement or refund (nor to be involved into any replacement/repair process as a reseller), because you should know that ACER is not providing any DOA period and warranty period kicks in from day 1. So If you are experiencing any problems with you unit – you should contact ACER straight away. Unfortunately, we can’t even do it on behalf of you, because ACER prefer to contact customers themselves.
You can contact ACER on............. "
As you might imagine, I was unimpressed to say the least, so called the sender of the email (he covers sales, customer service, everything it seems), and let him know what I thought. After quite a bit of arguing and emails they agreed to refund but "only after Acer confirmed to them the unit had not been damaged by me" (!). I left him in no doubt that a refund was the only result I would accept.
I received a refund of the full sum I originally paid around 8 or 9 days later, so there was a good ending.
However I was appalled at the approach taken by this company and wonder if others have fallen foul of such an approach. Whilst many reviews will be positive, because their laptop arrived in good working order for a cheap price, the real measure of a company is its service when things don't go smoothly.
I did myself a favour and bought from John Lewis on click and collect and got a free 3 year warranty to boot and only paid a little more. Don't buy online from a couple of guys in a business park is my message.

Brilliant Company!
I ordered a laptop with a few extras. I wanted to order from Laptops direct initially but their service was terrible and they dont have a clue what they are doing, plus their customer service skills were very much below standard.
I ended up ordering from Laptopmania. I asked for a different hard drive which LT direct said was impossible, LT mania did it without a problem. Same for extra memory, LT direct said it was not possible to increase RAM, whereas LT mania did it without any issues.
I also had the laptop delivered exactly on the requested date I wanted with tracking and accurate delivery time (within 30 mins!)!
Overall, I think laptopmania has been a very nice experience with good customer service and a very competative price.
Would definitely recommend!

Dodgy Company,be Careful Something Is Going On.
I did purchase a laptop . It was never sent to me but my credit card was charged for the price of laptop. When I did call a week later to find out why the laptop has not arrived, they said that my credit card billing address is not a 100% exact match with the delivery address. I do purchase a lot from internet and never heard any excuse like this. The interesting side is that they did charge my credit card for purchase. When I did asked them that I do purchase a lot online and never faced such a problem and if it is the case why then they charged my credit card? They did blame it on the system. I think they do the same trick with some other customers as well. i have just read some reviews here and other people had exactly the same problem. It is better to stick to a reputable company rather these small dodgy companies. Stay away and never use your debit card to purchase anything from this company.
All order with credit card payment failed normally not dispatched , customer should contact if payment failed.

I purchased the Asus N550JK-CM531H with some hesitancy as this company is not well known but this was the best price I could find for the specification I was looking for with an upgrade included. I did some research on the company and realised they were affiliated to asuslaptop.co.uk (Same physical address)
I had some concerns that the website did not offer a secure connection when placing an order with my personal details so I opted for a bank transfer payment method. I also did not want to incur a surcharge paying by Credit Card and I chose the 7 day free delivery option.
I ordered a laptop with a HDD upgrade. I was concerned for any cosmetic damage and I also wanted to keep the old HDD. I spoke with a member of the customer service team who assured me Laptop Mania were professional stating that if there were any problems I could return the laptop.
I phoned to inform Laptop Mania I had made the payment after depositing the money directly into their account. The laptop arrived today after two days from payment, five days earlier than expected which is fantastic.
The laptop is in mint condition, you would only know it had been opened and upgraded because the seal on the box was open. The old HDD was wrapped up and included in the box. The upgrade has been completed exactly as I expected. I am extremely pleased with the service I have received from Laptop Mania from the price to the customer service. I would only say the website needs to be totally secure when processing personal details. Apart from that and based on my experience I feel confident that if I should experience any future problems Laptop Mania will resolve these efficiently and professionally.
I also bought an ASUS550jk cm531, and did the same. I had the disk drive replaced by a Samsung SSD and they put this into an external enclosure for an extra 20 pounds. Andre did the work, and offered good advice on which SSD to get. I could not tell the computer had been opened. I was worried about this model, as the specs don't match the many worldwide variants - turns out the uk model has no backlit keyboard for some strange reason. I considered importing one, but can live without the backlit keys now. The whole unit is solidly built. screen is good, and colour balance very good. touch screen works well. only gripe is there is no ultra hd version - the retina displays on the mac book pros are better, but not much else is. then non mac uhds also come with some scaling problems at the moment. if asus did a 13-14 inch version of this I would have been sorely tempted. service from laptop mania was very good.

I don't even know where to start! Prices are fair, service was great. The timing of the delivery was amazing and spot on, and the best part was that you could monitor the person carrying your item in real-time. It was so exciting looking at Bobby, my delivery man, zip through his tasks before my parcel was delivered! Seriously, 6/5 for a rating!! The packaging was sturdy, the box my laptop came in was in mind condition. I love LaptopMania!! The only downside is that the website doesn't look as good as the service! However, the payment process was quick too! They kept you updated every step of the way!! Will DEFINITELY use again!

The Perfect Sale
I bought a £1000 laptop from LaptopMania and I admit I was a bit concerned as I had never heard of them but after doing some digging I thought I would give them a go. My laptop was delivered the next day after ordering which I was able to track on the internet with an hour time slot. Laptop works fine and no complaints. I would definitely use again.

NONE of their 20+ email addressed actually work. Very dodgy for IT company.
No answer to the phone.
I now need to use creditcard company to get a refund. Kicking myself for trying a smaller company.
