It's a shame this place sell cars missing parts and then expect you to wait weeks for the parts to turn up very unhelpful , we've got you're money nothing else really matters to us ,didn't even say how long parts would be when there here there here less than helpful avoid unless you want countless pointless phone calls

A Dissapointing Experience, Buying Elsewhere.
I was initially attracted to buy from them through their website, and the fact that "in stock items" could be delivered within 48hrs. I ordered a Blade 230s and a couple of spare batteries, as a birthday present for my son.
4 days later I had heard nothing. I called them to be told that they were waiting for delivery of the batteries. Thanks for letting me know, eh? Another 2 days pass. I get an email confirming despatch.... great!
2 days later, still no present for my by now grumpy son. I call and am assured that they have sent to the right address. I check with Parcelforce. They haven't. It's been sent to the NEXT door neighbour of my billing address, though no one was in so they left a note to collect from the local Post Office, which is 100 miles away from where it should be. So I called the shop... "you'll get it next Tuesday or Wednesday, we're getting it redirected" they said. "Not good," I replied, " it was supposed to be with my son LAST Tuesday or Wednesday... how and why did it get sent to the wrong place? What are you going to do? I need it here ASAP."
"Well would you like a refund?"
Eh? Well if they can't be bothered then neither can I. Their prices are indeed attractive but I will always happily pay more in order to get good service. I was lied to about the delivery, in fact thanks to their incompetence the 230s is 100 miles away from where it should be. No effort was made to retain my business, so a full refund is eagerly awaited. If you live close enough to visit, then fine, but not a good place to buy from online.

I've just read a few reviews about SMC, they don't seem too good. My experiance couldn't be more differant. Living in SW France it is almost impossible to find a good model shop. I know when I phone up SMC they not only have all the parts I want but are much cheaper, including P&P than my 'local' (50 miles away) model shop. The service could not be any better, I order the parts, read out my card number, then normally 3 days later (once it was 4 days)the parts are delivered. They always answer any question I ask over the phone no matter how trivial. If someone there could speak French you would have a lot of French costumers.
Very bad service visited sussex model centre for spares did not have them in stock and found that customer service by one young man to be very rude really should not be servicing customers I feel,

Since retiring I have bought several models from them over the past few years,visiting the shop in person.Invariably I have to go back to them for
explanations on how to program or operate the high tech stuff.It does not matter who I see,they explain it fully and do not talk down to me. I had li-
po charger I could not get to work, it was in fact faulty and they exchanged it without quibble.

ordered a model on 14/10/2014 was told by the assistant to wait in on the 15/10/2014 as it was being sent next day delivery, I waited and waited, decided to phone them at 4pm to confirm the item was sent, o was told "oh very sorry its going out today will be with you 16/10/2014", what a complete waste of a day,i know mistakes happen but they never forget to charge your card, didn't find the gentlemans apology very sincere either.I will take my custom elsewhere!

The item I received was damaged. No problem, I understand things get damaged in transit. What I found totally unacceptable was the way in which SMC absolved themselves of all responsibility when I tried to return the product for exchange. I agreed to wait at home on a given date and they would arrange for the item to be collected. I waited and waited, no sign of them. I called to ask them what time I could expect the collection? "Don't know, any time before five". OK. Five comes and goes, I call again with the same question, " don't know, any time before six". Six comes and goes. You get the idea...
They tell me they have no control over their courier, this may be true and by the way, they seem to have plenty of control when it comes to my debit card. Maybe they should insist on the same from Parcel Force.
It's not the fact that they fail that irks me, it is their attitude to me when they do.
I have purchased a number of items from them in the past with no problem, then again I have never had to return anything before.
You may buy from SMC with confidence, I just hope you don't have to return it! As for me, I'll take the hit this time and go elsewhere the next.

I visited the shop today for the first time - 5 people serving behind the counter. A few customers in the shop - I waited and waited and eventually someone asked if I needed any help - I was looking for a Revell model but wasn't quite sure of the model number (after all this is a model shop) I was thinking that maybe they would have a catalogue or internet access to check the model number - that's what thinking done for me! I was told the revel models are over there on the left - I looked for but couldn't find what I was looking for - I turned around to speak to the shop assistant and he was gone!!!!!! great customer service - no help whatsoever - I have 2 sons who love making models (potential customers of the future!!!!) I think its because I am a woman and don't fall into their 30 something bloke interested in remote control models - as one of them were driving a car round the shop!!!! was going to spend quite a bit of money in here but just going on the internet now - STAY CLEAR IF YOUR ARE A WOMAN - THEY JUST AREN'T INTERESTED IN HELPING YOU !!!!"!!!
Sorry you did not have a pleasant experience. We have had a model store for over 40 years and do pride ourselves on a good customer service. So when we recently saw this review we were very disappointed. We do value all our customers especially in your case when you were looking for your sons, who as you say may well have been future customers. Hopefully you will give us another chance.
