Just Awful.

purchased an rc car on Thursday the 12th Dec and paid £7.99 for next day delivery.

when I phoned on the 15th to recieve more information I was told the item was not Instock. but was due in within the next few days. not a problem however I did ask for some form of refund on the 7.99 next day delivery fee.

mainly as I didn't recieve the service I payed for.

the answer was NO!

my next step was to cancel my order. if a company expects to keep my money for a service they have not provided they can think again.

'same item has been purchased on modelsport for the same price and so far the service is far superior.'

Dismal Land Rather Than Wonderland

I have found Wonderland models to have the worst customer service I have ever experienced by far. I had been looking for an electric motor specifically with a black can. The Wonderland models website showed they were selling the black can model. Prior to placing an order I emailed them to check that the black can was the one I would receive and I received an email from someone confirming it would be. I then ordered the item and they promptly sent me a silver can version. I was then told the black can was no longer available. They also then updated their website and told me that I knew what I was ordering as the silver can was on their website despite the email from them confirming the opposite. As I had taken screen shots of their website showing the black can, I then sent these to them, and on receipt they backtracked and admitted their error. However, their only resolution is for me to send the motor back to them at my own expense with an note explaining why I don’t want it. Clearly it is not acceptable for any customer to have to be out of pocket for any amount for something that is entirely the fault of the seller. However, Wonderland don’t share this sentiment and are content they have mis-sold me an item leaving me to pursue a claim via my credit card company. Based on my experience I can only suggest that you avoid using this company as there are far more retailers out there who actually value their customers.

Excessive Delivery Times And Double Postage Charged

Excessive delivery times and double postage charged

I've had a couple of times when I've ordered items that are showing in stock on their website only to find that the order arrives incomplete as they were actually out of stock. In the past this has not been too bad as they have sent the balance of the order out when it was available.

This time though an order I placed mid September, despite emailing them and their assurance that the rest of the order would be sent out with free delivery, I received an email today to say that they cancelled my order as the card I used to pay was declined (this was because I have been given a new bank card as mine expired at the end of September).

I telephoned them to give them my new card details and was given short shrift on the phone by a man telling me that I had to re-order through the website and pay a second delivery charge, they couldn't waive the delivery charge as it was my fault the payment didn't go through!

I think you'll find it was their fault that because they took so long to send out my order my card details had expired meantime!

I would definitely think twice about using this company in future especially as my daughter has now been waiting 8 weeks for the rest of her birthday present, and the only reason I didn't order the items from another company is that I didn't want to have to pay out another delivery charge!

I've now paid this company £11 in delivery charges!

Wait For 3 Months For A Order, Then Told To Pay More

I ordered a Model Kit on the 4th October 2015, at 20.40. I entered my credit card details and noted that the product would be available on the 10th December. Having not received the item by the 14th Decemember I called to be told that the delivery was late and it would now be arriving on the 17th December, but they would be despatched with haste. I called on the 18th December now to be told that they would not arrive and we would miss the Christmas delivery date (I was told in a very uncaring way that a email had been sent to everyone telling them, which I did not get). I now had no present for Christmas, but decided to keep it on order as it was arriving early January. On the 7th January I get an email (funny this one did get to me) telling me that the credit card they stored had to be repaid due to the time.#

OK I thought, no problem, only to find out they wanted to charge me £3 more for the product I had placed an order for, at the agreed price on the 4th October 2015.

The attitude of the person on the phone was very poor, the manager even worse who from a distance told me to take it or leave it.

The product was a 1/72 Vulcan Kit, my name is Mr M Walter from Northampton, my order number is 423266.

I cannot believe that any company would expect a customer to wait 3 months then decide to increase the price, they should have been sending it with a discount voucher for future purchases as a way of apologizing for missing the Christmas deadline.

Beware Of Prices Charged Online

I purchased two models online, one costing £42.99 = when it arrived there was a Wonderland Toys price sticker on the box £34.99 when I called to report this, the gentleman who I spoke to was really rude and told me that one of their staff had mistakenly placed the wrong price sticker on the box! which I did not believe for one moment, the person I spoke to then went on to say "had the price ticket been £20 more than I had paid - would I have reported it to them" I am of the strong opinion they have two sets of prices, one for people who call at their premises in person and inflated ones for those who purchase online.

Sent Wrong Item Then Refused To Refund!

My partner bought a camel's model kit from this company in 25mm, and received the wrong box in 75 mm. He paid for postage to send it back, then the only thing he heard back from them was that they couldn't refund or change the item because THE BOX HAD BEEN OPENED (the models were not disturbed from their set-up plastics) and did he want them back and if he did want them back he would have to pay another £3.95 postage!!(and spent £14 originally on the wrong item and postage)

My partner told them they could put it in the bin - but this is such bad service, he will certainly not buy anything from them again and I make sure I tell all his friends! Terrible, absolutely revolting in this day and age.

He said he wished he had read the reviews on here before hand (but we only found out about this too late...)

The Worst Customer Service Ever.

rude customer service, unhelpful to the extreme and sell items on there website that are either not in stock, or you get a cheaper item than ordered and have to spend your own time and money returning it. Avoid.

No Stock

The website advertises a big range of kits at low prices. However, even thought the site eludes to the fact the items are in stock, it seems more often than not the items are out of stock.

I ordered two kits and both ended up being out of stock, which was just a complete waste of my time. If they make it clear they carry no stock then fair enough, but they dont.

More annoying is the fact they asked me to review my experience with them, in which i gave my honest opinion, however it seems they only pick the 5 star reviews to show on their site. Hence my review here.

If i am going to take the time to shop on line and choose kits, then i will shop with the many sites that dont try and sucker you in with cheap prices, but do show stock levels and avoid having my time wasted.

Two stars for the fact they did email to tell me kit 1 was out of stock and then again that in fact both kits were out of stock.

Selling Non-existent Stock

I wish I'd read the reviews here before I'd ordered. I can only reiterate what others have already said. Avoid this company, they take orders for things they don't have, then put off finding the goods 'til later.

My order was cancelled as they 'can't get it at that price' any more.

Their own terms lock the customer to a binding contract once their order confirmation has been sent out, but this goes by the board if it suits them from their side.

From now on I'll stick to the Airfix site direct, or Amazon.

Advertise Items They Don't Have Then Charge Postage Twice.

Ordered 7 figures. 4 arrived with full postage applied. A month later chased other 3 and still not in stock. Promised that when order arrives it will be sent free of delivery cost. As card subjected to fraud needed a new card. Old card declined when they took payment for awaited 3 figures. Received email to say we need to order again and pay delivery. Wrote back with card details asking for delivery cost to be taken off as already paid. Completely refused and said not possible. Want £8 postage now cause it took them so long to complete the order.
