Unusable Website - Cannot Make Bookings

Unusable website, that is unclear on how to actually use your voucher; but will take additional monies from you. I have had £148 taken from my account, in addition to voucher without warning!

Cannot get a response from customer services via Messenger service (AI), even though website states the service should be open.

If no response from Buy a Gift within 48 hours I will have no other option to assume I have been shammed!

Do Not Buy Gift Voucher

I upgraded a voucher that was given to me as a special birthday and wedding anniversary

I contacted Crown Plaza on Monday in Marlow ( the voucher was for this experience).

I was informed that the voucher code is not working, they sent me a screen shot from “Buyagift “portal – the message shows and sates “do not accept this voucher”

I contacted “Buy a gift” via it chats forum on its web site

Went through the process and the final message from the agent oh something us not right let me discuss with my supervisor and I will get back to you.

That was approx. 14.00hrs on Tues. I kept messaging them on the chat forum total radio silence. At 20.00hrs I gave up

On Wed (27/09/24) I messaged them again. I finally got an email stating they informed Crown Plaza that the code is working.

So here I am on Thursday – Crown Plaza is blaming “Buy a gift” and Buy a gift is blaming “Crown plaza”

At least Crown Plaza are responding to me and have informed that if “buy a gift portal keeps rejecting my code there is nothing much they can do.

I email “buy a gift” again today at 8.0am using the em address,

At the time of writing this still no response from them. I even informed in my email that if I do not receive a response then I will be posting my reviews on here. Clearly, they will now respond because my guess is social medial platform reviews is more important to them then dealing with customer directly.

In the meantime, the special meal we were hoping to book in Marlow, they now have limited time availability for 19th Oct, so we may not be able to do our special celebration, all because of incompetent customer service at “buy a gift”

So either way, totally waste of time, and very poor service by “buy a gift”

In the future you have the option , do not use this provider.

Bottom line – I purchased the product from “buy a gift costing in excess of £200, and there is nothing I can do because they are blaming each other. And our special celebration moment is a total let down.

I may have to contact the credit company to see if I can get my money back, as “buy a gift” have failed to delivered the product/service they promised to provide

Don't Touch This Outfit With A Bargepole

Last Christmas my wife bought me a Buyagift voucher for the Lift 109 Experience at Battersea Power Station. This voucher is valid until 31/12/24. Today we decided to book our trip for next week (24/09/24). Logging onto Buyagift's website I found that no dates are available for me to use my voucher between now and February 2025 (last month offered on the booking screem). I want to go on Tuesday 24 September 2024. I have been on to the Lift 109 Experience website and can purchase tickets direct from them for Tuesday 24 September 2024 (for £34 for 2 people, as opposed to the £39 is cost my wife to purchase the voucher from Buyagift!). Having contacted the 'customer service' person at Buyagift, via Webchat, I've been advised that this is the experience provider's fault as they don't allocate enough tickets at any one time. I'm told that Buyagift a awaiting a further release of tickets for this experience soon, but they say they can't tell me when, just tell me to keep checking the portal. I smell a rat with this outfit.

Really shoddy. Don't waste your money or time with Buyagift

Don't Buyagift

What a sham....if you want to give a gift to someone you don't like then this is the ideal present

I was given a Luxury Escape gift and after attempting to log in for ages I managed to access the Luxury hotels...lol.

Luxury is a term that I can not describe some of the b&b and hotels touting for trade.

A grotty room above a pub has never been Luxury in my book.

I eventually found a few that didn't look too bad however had to pay extra towards them even though they were included in the deal because their terms and conditions stated that the voucher was only valid between Nov and May.

What a joke

Buy A Gift

Just don't buy a gift for anyone through this company unless you want to lose a friend. I was given one as a present and it was so stressful. The website to redeem a voucher is so stressful and I could have simply paid cash at half the price

Not Worth Money

I would not purchase or want to receive any vouchers from buy a gift as I had £60 on a voucher. I booked an afternoon tea for two which valued at £21 each and wanted to add some more people but couldn’t have the remainder of the voucher towards that so I paid £60 for two afternoon teas which basically cost £42 I’ve been in touch with customer service who say this is how it works please don’t buy folks and waste your money. Very very disappointed with this and would never buy again or want to receive it as a gift. !!!

Great Experience However Not Full Hours Flyling

I enjoyed the experience there was a second person who had booked an hour, and because he did not want to go back up it was left at that so only had half an hour when a FULL HOUR WAS PAID FOR.

Caterham 7 Driving Experience.

Received gift card for birthday. Told that the experience was no longer available when trying to book. Told alternatives were available, but when pursued were beyong voucher date. I did find the actual event was still running at one reasonably close venue. However immediately slapped with a £25 sevice charge (for what?) With the required "extras" (Damage waiver) and other options - extra laps, sighting lap etc. the cost would excedd the voucher cost by 3 - 4 times. Only one event in the period left on voucher, can extend but assume the cost will go up and up and the vouch buys less and less.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND THE EMBARASMENT OF BUYING A GIFT WHICH APPEARS TO BE A LIABILITY AND A MONEY PIT.

Worse Gift Ever

I received a gift voucher from 'Buy a Gift' as a wedding present. Unfortunately, the experience has been extremely disappointing. Despite its high value, the voucher can only be used from Sunday to Thursday, which isn’t feasible without missing work. Additionally, the company required an upgrade to use the voucher, yet direct booking with the hotels turns out to be cheaper than the voucher's original price. 'Buy a Gift' also refused to offer a refund. This rigid policy and lack of flexibility have resulted in a wasted gift and added stress. I would not recommend this service as it's proven more burdensome than beneficial."

Rubbish Response

tried to activate a voucher it was rejected contacted the store it was bought from who said all was okay from their standpoint. Tried several times to contact BAG gave proof of purchase & price the date model number receipt the store bought from who purchased it etc but not enough it seems needed photo of receipt which I sent... umm still not enough it seems again can I send a picture of the box back and front done which I did guess what no reply. I was almost waiting for a request for a set of finger prints. At no point did anyone address what the problem was! One thing from this I will never use buy a gift again and with say to friends and family please don't use them.. If this was not a gift I would have just said leave keep the money/voucher. I spent most part of a day trying to get a result with no success. The answers I was receiving made me feel that I was trying to get a free voucher!! I was looking forward to using the gift not anymore. Very disappointed in very poor customer service

chloelouise98

I have a voucher, got to the end where l presumed l put my voucher code again after already doing it at the beginning? It only has options for payment on debit card? I want to use my voucher.

GordonNewlands69

I think you need to click on the "I have a voucher" or "Use my voucher" button and then enter the code and pin. Then select the activity you want to book. I believe the website is designed to be so complicated that you eventually give up or die of frustration, so they can keep your money. Good luck!

dudesims

Can we extend the validity of the voucher? If so, how?

Carlamay

I was given a buy a gift voucher as a present for a 2 night stay in london. When I try to redeem my voucher on the website and book, I am told I need to pay for it and am instructed to enter my card details, even though it was bought as a present?
