Buy Elsewhere

I ordered 4 rolls of wallpaper from Wallpaper Direct. I attempted to cancel the order a day or two after placing the order because I found the EXACT same wallpaper for $80 per roll cheaper at ***Morris Wallpaper***. Wallpaper Direct responded that I needed to pay for the return of the unopened wallpaper to their address. Once I received their wallpaper in the package THEY PACKED, I immediately took it to the USPS (the same carrier they used to ship to me). I paid the $20 or so to have it shipped back to Wallpaper Direct and went on my way, excited that I was saving $80 per roll (TOTAL $320) with Morris Wallpaper, not worried about paying for the return shipping to Wallpaper Direct.

This morning, I received an email from Wallpaper Direct stating that she appreciated me taking her call (she never called), and that the wallpaper came to them with the box opened and 3 out of 4 rolls damaged. Her email states that I need to contact the carrier, as they will be charging me for the 3 damaged rolls (around $1,000) that THEY packed. USPS policy states that they will only accept a claim for insured mail, which I did not do because I had never opened the box.

I called her after receiving the email (first time we had ever spoken, despite what she stated in her email to me) and explained the above. She stated it was neither my fault nor their (Wallpaper Direct) fault, but that it was the carrier's fault. When I explained that I did not take out insurance on it, she said that I should have and again stated it was not their fault. After we went around and around and she stated for the 4th or 5th time that it was not their fault, I lost my temper which was unwise of me, as she hung up (understandable).

Regardless, the points of my post are:

- Morris Wallpaper has better pricing

- Wallpaper Direct will not take responsibility for their packing.

- They will place blame on the customer. BE WEARY!!!

- Their website never mentions taking out insurance. They merely state, and I quote:

At this point if you do not want the product you will need to make a return to us. The instructions for returning products to us is located on our website under the FAQ section. However, we can accept the roll(s) that you have ordered back if they are unopened. We accept returns up to 60 days from the order date.

Please include inside the parcel your order number (1USA1354401). We also ask that you pack the product with packing materials to protect it during shipment. Once we receive the goods back we will refund the amount back on to the card used and confirm we have done this by email.

I NEVER OPENED THEIR PACKING. THIS IS NOT ON ME!

I Have Ordered Wallpaper And Made Entire Payment,

I have ordered wallpaper and made entire payment, two months back. Till now have not recieved anything. I wrote 14 mails and numerous calls, everytime they gave pre-written reply, regretting inconvenience. I asked for atheist share the POD or airway bill no. So that I can track the parcel , if they have sent. They refuse to give that too.

Very Disappointed

It is a shame to put in a negative review, but we have had such a frustrating and time wasting few months, starting with an order for a paper with nature theme placed and paid for in Feb,

March- gave us a 15% discount as order delayed

April 3rd-- given another date of 25th May

May 18th---another delay til 22nd June

June 23rd--further delay til ,wait for it---Sept!!!

All this time my hall was half decorated, and we held on as the wallpaper was exactly what we wanted.

We realise that the Canadian manufacturers were the ones calling the shots,but think that this wallpaper, which has now been taken off their site, should have been removed, and the problem dealt with much earlier.

Every time we were given a new date, we hung on, thinking it couldn't possibly be delayed again, but yet again disappointed.

Wallpaper direct have offered a 20% discount off another dearer paper, but I don't think this is enough of an apology, and so have gone to another wallpaper provider

Disappointing Customer Service.

Ordered 3 rolls of £70 a roll wallpaper: fine. Was one short so ordered another. It arrived a week later: damaged. Cellophane was torn back and paper dented, obviously prior to packing.

1)Told to take a picture of damage and email it and then a replacement would be sent but I have no camera and decorator booked for the next day.( I assume they think I am lying about the damage: nice). 2) Told to buy a replacement roll and return the damaged. This would mean paying out more upfront for potentially the same happening again as was told 'We can't check every roll', and same problem arranging another date with busy decorator.

Too appalled by their dreadful service to take this further.Why buy from this firm when you have to arrange to wait in for delivery or to organise for faulty to be sent back and replacement to arrive and there's no guarantee that they can send an undamaged item anyway? PLEASE go to local store where you get satisfactory service and receive undamaged goods.

Wallpaper direct need to compensate for a lost day's work, inconvenience of myself and decorator by just not charging for damaged item.

Awful Company - Use John Lewis Instead!

i bought several rolls of wallpaper from this company, and when i opened them found that they had all been previously opened and were marked. when i tried to return these items to the company i was told that as they had been opened i must keep them and that this was stated in their small print! next time i shall video myself opening items supplied by them!

Do Not Use Terrible Customer Service.

Wallpaper was faulty, They try every trick under the sun not to refund you.

Was told they do not advise to use Solvite wallpapering paste over the phone. THIS does not appear anywhere on their website though.

Solvite is one of the most common wallpaper paste and one of the best brands.

Avoid at all costs...My complaint continues

Excellent

It was the first time I bought wallpaper online, but it was great. The wallpapers were an exact match with the picture I would say, and their costumer service was great, they answered all my question quickly and catered to my needs.

I would definitely recommend them to anyone, they have a large variety, good prices, and great customer service!

Bad Customer Service

Was one roll short and order another. Paid by Paypal. No paper was received by me. I was in touch by phone and constant e mail to advise that it was not delivered. They told me to phone or go to my local sorting office and see if the roll of wallpaper was to be redelivered. Which I did, surely they are supplying the wallpaper they should be tracking this???? Advised them no wallpaper there so I had to put in a claim to Paypal,now have to wait until Wallpaper Direct respond. Really bad customer service and all for £20.98. Think they must be having problems if the cannot refund this amount.

Will never use again.

Truly Outstanding Service

Now here's the thing about this company, nothing is too much trouble, honestly! I ordered one roll short by mistake, I called them in blind panic and they couldn't have been more helpful. They arranged to pick up the parcel on the same day. They did not have enough stock of the paper I required so they sourced it and gave me a delivery date there and then.

Prior to delivery, a text message arrived with delivery time and both times this proved to be correct.

All in all supurb service I would highly recommend.
