Went in to buy some fish. Staff were not clued up, rude, patronising, condescending and belittling. The guy was the same with a disabled customer and another guy. We all left. No-one bought any fish and all left frustrated. Also alot of the fish were unhealthy and dying, with clamped up fins swimming vigorously on the spot in crowded tanks. One male assistant was walking around laughing at customers, and another was giggling to himself that customers were not happy and said "we're alright, we have other customers". Absolutely pathetic. Used to love this place years ago. Will never be returning.

I ordered a specific product and when it arrived it was totally different to what was in the picture and all I got was send it back, it's so heavy and would cost a fortune to send back, there was no help from the company what so ever

I ordered 40 paving slabs from Porton Aquatics, on Wednesday 20th July at 11am. They were delivered to my door at Epsom Surrey at 10am on Thursday 21st . This is less than 24 hours !!

The slabs were cheaper than all the local DIY stores, and builders merchants, who also had over a weeks delivery delay.

The customer service on the phone, was very efficient and friendly too. I would recommend this company to everyone.

This place offers a huge range on products, garden and animal related. They also offer a large range on animals in store. Stock is affordable and good quality. Staff are friendly and all at least have basic knowledge on animals etc.

However, there were a few things which I think could be better. When I purchased a couple tarantulas from this place, I was not asked if I had the correct set up or any questions about my set up or knowledge on the animals care. I also thought it was funny that they were asking me if I had a set up when after looking at their tarantulas, some didn't even have the correct set ups. There were a lot of adult tarantulas in plastic containers the size of themselves with no room to move properly. The arboreal tarantula I bought was housed in the plastic tub with a height the length of it's body. The only time I was asked if had the correct set up, was when I bought a snake there, however they didn't ask if I had any knowledge on the care, because you could have the set up but incorrect care.

Even though there were a few downfalls, this place is a really good shop with plenty of products and a good experience

Ordered 8 bags of Aquatic compost which were delivered next day as promised Reasonable price and delivery charge .Thank you .Would buy again.

I have visited Porton several times over the years and have always been impressed with their service. The place is huge! They even have alpacas there now! Last time I was there they had just launched their new 'shark bite' cafe, with a huge 3d shark mouth that my son wanted to climb all over.

We live quite a way away, so when I found out they now have a website, I was glad I could buy their items online. So far I've bought 9 items from them online. Everything so far has arrived the very next day and in good condition.

We're going back there next week to buy my son a gecko (he's been asking for years!), so it will be good to see how they're getting on. They have been great on the telephone and email with advice on what species to buy and what additional products we'll need. Fortunately they also deliver the gecko's live food on a next day service, so that'll make life much easier.
