Great Customer Service
I respect the honesty the shop gave me with the weather and possibility of the mantis not making it, however I got it with some silkworm food and instructions. The mantis was fine and now resides in my garden doing mantis things.

Not A Reliable Company, Don't Recommend.
I was excited to order a praying mantis from this company, and especially happy with their detailed shipping schedule. Unfortunately they did not follow their own shipping schedule and when I emailed to inquire they responded with, 'oh we did ship it, we just never informed you and it will show up in 10 days.' Don't use this company, these poor animals will not arrive on time or alive.

I ordered a praying mantis through them and it never showed up. They didn't give me a time frame of when it might arrive, just a tracking number to this sketchy website saying it will probably come within 3 days. I was out when it arrived but when I got home soon after it was supposedly delivered it wasn't there. I looked all around and asked my neighbors and roommates and no one's seen it. I emailed customer service and am still waiting to hear back but I get the feeling that I just got cheated out of $20 so needless to say I'm pretty angry!

Dead On Arrival
I ordered two mantids and Feeder flies from The Praying Mantis Shop a.k.a The Silkworm Shop. I stayed home to wait for my mailman. I checked and checked finally found the box sitting on my steps. The company uses priority mail and they do not use signature upon delivery - It causes more problems than it might solve - I was told afterwards.
The temperature was below 40° in fact it was in the mid-20s. I Used a different company in the past & didn't question whether they would use signature upon delivery and the other company uses hot cold packs depending on the weather. They offered to replace the mantids if I pay for the shipping. They told me that hot packs are only available upon request and at an additional cost. I Could not find this information anywhere on their mantis site until I checked out their silkworm shop part of the website.
They do not care at all about what is intended to become your pet. Even ship out two times the amount of bugs assuming one will die in the process. What a rotten company with rotten customer service, will never use again.

I ordered feeder flies for a praying mantis. They were dead. No living flies out of 100 to make a new culture. Their disclaimer is for 90F, so no refund replacement. What ticks me off is they charged $10 shipping, then used the US Postal Service. Well duh, they aren't going to treat shipments right. They didn't deliver priority mail to the door. The company doesn't care: we had a disclaimer.
