Won't Price Match All Big Retailers Very Expensive
Asked them if they would price match 6 other big retailers. Wheelbase were asking £130 for shimano xtr spd pedals where as, chain reaction, wiggle, Evans cycles, alpine trek and ubyk are all under £90 and a further 19 stores are around £100. They stated they won't price match but will knock £15 off. Still a lot dearer than all the other cycle stores. Won't be using again thought they were a good shop but this is the second time now. First time was on a sram xx1 groupset. Try to keep my business local as I live in the Lake District but will be going else we're now..

After Sales Poor
Purchased a trek fuel bike from there 2009 , great bike but crashed it and had some bad dents , sent email at time 2 years ago asking for price for the crash replacement scheme that trek do and they never bothered getting back to me . Applied for finance for new bike with them other week and when didn't go through I emailed again about the crash replacement for the trek fuel to which they have ignored . So it looks like they want your money then there not bothered about after sales and customer care

Rude And Very Reluctant To Refund.
Hi, I placed an order with wheelbase for a bike which included a finance package, they took my deposit upon placing the order BEFORE the finance was approved. The finance was approved and they sent paperwork out to be signed. After reading the finance papers I decided not to go ahead with the bike and to get a bike on the Cycle to Work scheme instead.
When I requested to cancel the order they were very stroppy and even started swearing. I had to speak to several people who were out of the office most of the time. They even tried to charge me a 4% stocking fee. What a load of...
I did get my refund, in full, but I will not be using them ever again and I would highly discourage anyone else from using them. TERRIBLE customer service.

Not enough staff - had to look around to find any help. When I did find someone he did try to help but was having to deal with a few customers including me at the same time. If you want your customers to spend a few bob at least make their visit half enjoyable!! I spent £200 today but I would be reluctant to rush back to the store in the future......

My first purchase from this retailer. I usually use Wiggle, Probikekit or Chain Reaction Cycles.
Ordered my jacket early afternoon on a Monday and it was delivered on the Tuesday morning (free first class delivery). The jacket (which was only released earlier this year) was also discounted by about 20% (all other UK websites had it at full price, and didn't have the colour I wanted (Yellow/Lemon)).
So in short - very slick service!

Sent an email to the guys at WHEELBASE.CO.UK with regards to my interest in starting out in the world of road cycling.
Inspired by the tour de france on the tele i set out to buy a Pinarello ( as ridden by team sky). Not only were they prompt to respond to my email, but i found there advice more comprehendable and helpful than a list of many other "top" bike shops.
After a few emails and phone conversations with there mail order manager i settled on my bike (Pinarello FP2 105) in the correct size and also received a great deal on all the accessories i needed ( full team sky kit, helmet, pedals, pump etc).
I came to the sport a complete novice and thanks in no small part to WHEELBASE i have lost two stone and am now a keen and much leaner cyclist!
Very helpful service. Would highly recommend.

I Ordered A Kona Mountain Bike From Their Website
I ordered a Kona mountain bike from their website 2 weeks ago. The price was 399 I think. Good deal and the postage quoted was just 12 pounds. So i went ahead and ordered especiallt because of the cheap postage. I live in Slovakia and this was specified on the order. The order was processed quite wuickly but then over a week later I received an email saying that there was an error and I had been quoted the wrong postage. I would have to pay an extra GBP 213 to get delivery.
I pointed out that this was my son's birthday present and as a direct result of their error, he was to get nothing on his birthday. I also said that they were contractully obliged to deliver at the quoted price. But they ignored this and refunded my money. Due to exchange rate differences and bank charges, I am now about 15 euros down. They expressed their sincere apologies but it is all rather empty when not backed up by any action.
if the order had been processed as you say the bike would have been despatched. sounds like a geniune web error and a major misunderstanding of mail ordering

I Have Wanted A Bad Boy For Some Time Now And Fina
I have wanted a Bad Boy for some time now and finally got round to purchasing one. This website was recommended to me by a friend and I have to say that I am very happy with my purchase.
There is a huge amount of choice (although I knew exactly what I was after)and the websites finance scheme was superb.
