Changed Direct Debit Without Knowledge

I signed a direct debit agreement for £82 a month. They put it up to £393 without my knowledge or consent. Said they sent an email which I never got. Obviously Icancelled but their charging over £700 to cancel a pay arrears. Upping direct debit by over £300 without me signing an agreement can’t be legal. I won’t be paying.

Ok, Until You Want To Change Anything

I took out insurance for my vehicle, price was good, obviously, or I wouldn’t have used them.

However, after a month, I sold my car as was provided with a vehicle through work.

Cancelled insurance, only to be hit with cancellation charges of £225, on top of the initial deposit and first months premium which was over £100, so basically £350 for 1 month insurance!!

I disputed the excessive charges, and received communications from a debt recovery company?!

I would not recommend using this company, you can’t talk to a human, communication by email only, no justification of excessive charges, straight to debt recovery, so I would imagine how hard it would be if you had a claim!

Steer well clear!

Worst Insurance Company For Making A Claim

Worst insurance Company A car crashed into me i was not in the car at the time I do have video evidence of the crash insurance company I’ve said it is something I will have to deal with myself I will have to claim against myself as they will not provide the drivers details that is up for me to do so they say the police will not give me the details so I have now found the drivers details and there still not helping me out I have a disabled person that can no longer use this car And they’re saying I may not get a courtesy car even though I paid extra for this when taking policy out disgrace 20 years of driving with no claim this is the first time I’ve ever made a claim

Hopeless Administration And Communication.

Appalling when cancelling. Had this policy a few years but changed my vehicle to a new Defender which they could not offer to insure on my existing policy. They came up with an alternative policy at 3 times the average market price which I obviously rejected.

I was told that I would have to cancel the policy when I took delivery of the new car and they would calculate the part month outstanding which would be taken on my next direct debit. As arranged I made that call and was then told I would have to pay an additional cancellation fee which I refused to do as it was not my fault they could not provide cover for my new choice of car. After some argument it was agreed that no cancellation charge applied and again they would take out the final £32 on direct debit

I never checked to see if the payment was taken however I started to receive chasing letters and calls I had to explain the scenario several times to finally get told that the last payment could not be processed via direct debit and had to be done over the phone. I agreed and then got cut off three times on their payment system part way through the process. I logged on to my internet account with them to try and make a payment through that which was also not possible to do.

I emailed to request bank account details to make a transfer which I finally received and processed.

Now I am still getting emails and phone calls from these CARS clowns chasing the balance. I have confirmed the date of the transfer but Cars are adamant I have to provide further proof of payment and will continue to call and write to collect the balance unless I provide more payment details. This is despite advising them of my mental health issues and requesting they simply check their records and confirm with the client the balance is not due.

They refuse to confirm anything except that they will continue to call and write until I provide more details of the payment made. Absolutely against my understanding of the law and their responsibilities.

Avoid this company. What a waste of time and energy

Do Not Use Igo4 I Urge You

*DO NOT USE THIS INSURANCE COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SWINDLED!!* I urge you stay away from this insurance company! They are swindlers and would find any small mistake to get money out of you. I made a mistake the date I passed my test £58 added to my premium. I’ve been driving for the pass 7 years never once have I ever had an accident or made a claim which I am sure they can see from all their advances systems and checks yet because I didn’t provide no claims bonus certificates another £558 was added to my premium it’s beggars belief they way I keep receiving emails with little reasons to add money onto my policy. How is this allowed? I will be reporting them to the ombudsman. Call their South African call centre no one gives any concern about your query and can’t even provide proper ‘customer service’ completely unhelpful

DO NOT USE THIS INSURANCE COMPANY UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO THROW DOWN THE DRAIN!!!

Took Money From My Bank Without Consent

Took money from my bank without consent following what they call "automatic renewal".

Wow..... I would really swear well clear of this company. Sharks does not even come into it. I set up a policy for a spare car last year which we used for a few months while my main car was off the road. They were cheap enough however cheap for a reason. Customer service is non existent. No letters or documents were ever sent through and they rely on you checking your emails religiously.

They claimed to have sent an email regarding renewal of the policy which they took to be my consent to an automatic renewal if I did not contact them. I hadn't seen the email as it had gone into my spam folder let alone gone through the small print to see this. They then chose to provide me with a new finance agreement with their third party provider to fund the policy, all carried out under the veiled secrecy of emails going into spam folders. Despite not agreeing to any new finance agreement a direct debit was set up without my consent or knowledge and funds taken for a policy I don't need nor agreed to. This has directly affected my credit rating and left issues with my bank.

Having spoken to the person I dealt with at IGO4 today there was very little sympathy and in fact, more emails to try and resolve this. As I said to her, how would she feel if I just dibbed into her bank account and took £50 each month without her consent. Angry and upset she said but still could not see my point as her customer. Again, I asked how she would feel if her poor partner was starving hungry as there was no food on the table as she could not afford to buy food as I had taken £50 from her bank account without her knowledge or consent. Upset she said yet could not see my point.

IGO4, your staff, by there own admission, would be angry and upset if I had taken money from them, can you really not see why I am so angry and upset with what you have done ?

PLEASE.... if you read this then pay a little bit more for your insurance and go with a reputable company who cares about there customers.

If I Could Give 0 Stars I Would

If I could give 0 stars I would. The fact that they use their poor process and quality of information as an excuse to charge you more to sign up should have been the first clue for what a garbage company this is. Do not be fooled by enticing looking offers, you can spend your money better elsewhere. They are good if you never have to rely on them to actually deliver a service. After our car was hit by a 3rd party and we were advised by igo4 to use the 3rd party service to protect our no claims, they then create an endless loop of bureaucracy in order to get your no claim certificate, want to charge you for the cancellation of the insurance because the 3rd party insurer deems it a write-off, in addition they tack on another £105 "other charges" with zero explanation. Short story, steer clear at all costs and rather stick with the established and real professional organisations.

Refused To Include Word Commuting And Said I Paid £1082 Last

I have been with Hastings SmartMiles/igo4 for nearly 3 years. Last June, son has moved back from Kent to East London and car has been locked in garage except when we go out. I phoned and tell the femail operative the case and that son has been looking for job. Music was on and then she told me that there would be no change in my policy £516 including no claim protected bonus and breakdown. Last night, I wanted to pay, but heard that if I wanted to change the terms of policy, I would be charged £45, so I checked the terms again. To my absolute horror, the word commuting was not there. It says Social, domestic and Pleasure. So I sent emails to various parties. This morning a guy said that the policy didn't say Excluding commuting and that COMMUTING was including in the policy and that it was their company policy not to print the word commuting on any policy. He said he could NOT add the word for me and that I could trust him. Then he said since my son is unemployed, the premium would be £650, but on the email he sent, he told me I paid

Last year's price**: Your new price:

£1,082.97 £650.45

Whereas the first invitation email says

Last year's price**: Your new price:

£615.77 £516.76

£615 was what I paid last year!

This guy told me I should trust him. He's obviously is a magician or singing from a different hymn sheet!

How dodgy and how poor is their housekeeping?

Can the FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER AND MAKE THIS COMMUTING WORD COMPULSORY IN ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES. iT'S A JOKE! and even if I pay my insurance, I AM NOT PROTECTED.

Thankfully Didn't Even Pass The Comparison Page. T

Thankfully didn't even pass the comparison page. This company continuously came up with the cheapest car insurance. Proceeding further resulted in the quote becoming up to £40/50 dearer. Contacting the company gave no joy....side tracked my question re the added extras to inflate the original quote and persistently told me that quotes change continuously, apparently in the seconds it took for one page to load to the next stage! Unbelievable. Strangely enough, other quotes listed underneath theirs stayed the same as I proceeded with completion. AVOID!!!

Will you be sending me a certificate of motor insurance as I renewed my policy last week. P504500W car reg EX54WGW. Thanks Barry Everard

Leecroft

Barry, what ever you do, don't go with this insurance company, please read there reviews. They tried to screw me over but fortunately the ombudsman got involved and managed to get my money back instead of being told by them that That I owed them money. It is the worst company that I have ever dealt with for anything, not just car insurance. Beware!

I haven't received my web reference yet and I need to upload my document. What should I do?

rafalb.177

I can't remember the exact process, but I remember that I signed a contract with them soon after I changed my address and used my driving licence with my old address. They gave me very little time to update my licence, but I managed to do that. I also said I a couple of years no claims bonus but I couldn't get the documents on time and iGO4 instead of changing my police, say to do it without no claim bonus, canceled my contract. I've found out a good couple of days later when their letter had arrived through the post which means I was driving without insurance for two or three days and wasn't even aware of it.

I think the best you can do is ring them and ask what you should do. And I think you should warn your friends about them. All my friends here already know who they are and we often make jokes about them now, but it wasn't that funny back then.
