Worst Experience Ever Encountered

Just returned from 7 tortuousness nights where we were forced to sleep on the floor of the caravan as the bed not only creaked so loud and moved, but, the mattress was only fit for a bonfire and was like sleeping on a wire fence! The mattress was that old that even turning it over made no difference as it sagged so much in the middle. The bedroom curtains were ingrained with mould as were many area's of the bathroom and shower. Broken and part missing door handles and door frames throughout the caravan which would have been more suited in scrap yard as it was dirty inside & out and not fit for purpose. I asked to be moved but was told very forcibly that they were fully booked and there was nothing else available. I wanted to move out of the camp and argue the costs and issues another day but the wife didn't want the upheaval of having to unpack and reload the car and look around as with a dog in toe it wasn't going to be easy to find alternative accommodation quickly so we spent as little time at the camp as possible. This site is over 75% residential by the looks of it and with some very unsavoury residents and dirty caravans and rubbish scattered and mixed around the holiday rentals, something not mentioned anywhere in the brochures, yes you can buy a holiday home but this resembled a tough council estate for the weighs & strays. We have a very well behaved small dog but even his patience was tested to the full with the constant barking from Doberman's, Rottweiler's, Bull Terriers and numerous other dogs that foamed at the mouth as you walked past their caravans! The hilly walks up to the clubhouse was also something I hadn't endured since my many years in the forces, the average person or elderly person would most certainly struggle and again, no pre-warning of such hilly conditions. There was no furniture to sit outside your caravan and even if you had your own, we had no area to place it, other than a shared walkway to the side with some very noisy neighbours. The front of the caravan was a sheer drop bank and the back of the caravan was all overgrown bushes, trees and weeds. We arrived early and gave reception our mobile telephone number but we never received a call so we came back to the site around 6pm expecting a recently cleaned caravan as it wasn't ready at 2pm, how wrong we were. I witnessed what I think could be described as "cleaners" on a change over day, they consisted of 2 foreign looking gentlemen in a private car carrying a Henry hoover with 1 spray bottle and a tea-towel and were in and out of the neighbouring caravan in less than 3 minutes, speaks volumes as our bathroom and shower was filthy and still had soap and old bottles of shampoo still in it from the previous occupants, not to mention the broken toilet roll holder and threadbare carpet which we brushed by hand ourselves as it was so filthy. The windows didn't close completely so you had whistling wind and rain at night blowing the mouldy curtains around! My advice would be to stay well clear of here, its not a case of "you get what you pay for" its totally NOT a holiday park and the cleanliness of the site and especially the caravans is nothing short of a disgrace. I have a full photographic library of everything mentioned above which will be forwarded to the park for their opportunity to respond to what was a very disappointing holiday stay and our first weeks holiday in over 15 years was totally ruined!
