Miami, The Shore Club Miami Beach

I spent months planning our anniversary to this "luxury" resort. Upon entering lobby for check in, we were overwhelmed by the smell of mildew, and the stark, comfortless lobby. I am all for modern decor, but lack of furniture, bare/dirty floors, noisy rooms, and arrogant attitudes are a bit much. After 2 nights of trying to get into the "coolness", we checked out. Only good part was my complaints were politely listened to, and manager did deduct one night's charges.

Great service and lovely public rooms. The Shore Club hotel has a really odd laid back feel about it. It's the sort of place you go to chill. No matter what your age or nationality, it feels like you are part of one big family. Only 5 mins walk from Ocean Drive, but overlooking the ocean, The Shore Club offers you tranquilty, or a really great night scene (what ever you prefer). Its the sort of place where you can keep yourself to yourself if you wish, or just join the party. If you get a chance, take a visit.
