Avoid

Disgusting company. They stayed open during the coronavirus and put their staff health at high risk. They don’t care because they are greedy and money grabbing. They took my order and money and now no delivery comes. Should have just shut down. Disgusting company, bad service, rude. Don’t care for their staff and customers, just take your money. Avoid.

Stay Away!

STAY AWAY! The firm is very unfair , and tricky. I ordered 5 bags render base and four from them were ripped in the parts with holes everywhere. All were on the pallets wrapped in the plastic foil and covered by another foil to hide the condition. When I took the foil off I was very upset because of the condition and the render base was different from that which I ordered.Build Base clearly sent me all the rubbish which they found in the yard.Just one unhappy customer for them is nothing, the most important is profit. STAY AWAY!

Rubbish Service

Ordered and received a Grohe kitchen tap in plenty of time before the plumber came to fit. 1 week late when he fitted it, some parts were missing. Contacted builder depot and there response was that i should have reported the parts missing as soon as i got it. I didnt even know there were parts missing til teh plumber told me.

This shower werent even interested.

Shop around - Builder depot aren't even the cheapest

Poor Customer Service, Unorganised

I have called twice to confirm delivery date. It got delivered another day when I was away as the delivery team mixed up the dates. I wasn't around to check the goods, they left it under the rain and unattended in front of my property, with people walking next to it, available for everyone to help themselves. Customer service is simply ridiculous. Builder Depot are cheap for a reason.

Disgusted!

Ordered some internal bifolding doors from this company, was told there would be a further delay in delivery to what we thought was going to be original delivery date, whereby our joiner could have fitted prior to going away and would have seen the faults. Instead, doors arrived just after our carpenter/joiner had gone on 3 week holiday and we kept them safe and stored unopened as all sorts of other work going on round the house (so didn't unpackage them as didn't want to get them damaged). When carpenter came round to fit them, there was damage to the frame on one side and one of the doors was badly scratched chipped. Got in touch with Builder Depot and you guessed it, they weren't prepared to exchange or refund. We had to pay extra money for our carpenter to fill and repair and on top of that it didn't even have a handle so have to buy one - more expense that we just have to swallow. How do these companies get away with it. They say "according to their t&c's" etc but surely as a buyer we must have rights outside of their t&c's. Whatever you do, don't use this company. You have been warned.

Dont Use Them ... Port Of Tyne Distributions "rude Driver

We ordered a gas Hob and built in oven for a kitchen refit. This was ordered on line and about a week later a delivery note, missed delivery was put through the door by a delivery driver . We had no notice so wernt in . Re arranged and the driver turned up with attitude as I had phoned to ask where he was ?. Then he left a pallet at the back gate and told me It was my job to take it to the house . Even though Im a pensioner . Driver accused me of " being arrogant" because I should read the paparwork I told him the service was "rubbish" I signed for oven . I dragged the goods to the back door as driver mouthed off as he closed up the back of his lorry . This company is not to be used if you expect heavy goods to the door. The delivery contract... with PORT OF TYNE Distribution you are likely to come accross an untrained rude delivery driver with no respect for customers. Be warned

Damaged Goods But Refused To Replace / Refund

I ordered 13 Deanta oak internal doors from Builder Depot Limited online. Deanta's own care instructions say that the doors must be stored flat on an even floor for 7 days at a steady temperature to acclimatise them before fitting. The doors were delivered to us upright on a pallet lashed together around the middle. We immediately laid them flat and followed Deanta's guidance. Our joiner started to fit the doors about 2 weeks after delivery at which point he discovered that the veneer on one of the doors was cracking quite badly. We discovered another door with the same problem. This was really difficult to identify under the plastic shrink wrapping. On complaining to Builder Depot, they responded to say that Deanta say it's not a maunfacturng fault and it must be the way we stored the doors. Builder Depot refused to either exchange or refund. As far as I'm concerned, it's the transportation arrangements which are at fault and we have a right to a refund for faulty goods. We are pursuing this through our credit card company but I feel badly let down by Builder Depot and could never recommend anyone to use them. There are also problems around items not being in stock, missed delivery dates, non notification of delivery and a host of other issues. Avoid like the plague, the cheaper prices are really not worth it.

Dreadful Experience. Don't Trust Product Availability Info.

I ordered some laminate floor and other products which were all mentioned as being "in stock" on the website. It appeared, that the floor was not in stock and had to be ordered from the supplier. I was asked if I want the other products which were in stock to be sent to me earlier and I said "yes", but it never happened. The first delivery finally took place on a different date than was promised to me, the driver was late and the products were (floor skirting) damaged! Most importantly, the floor was still not delivered! New promises were made as to when the floor would be delivered and the damaged goods replaced, but I am yet to see whether and when this will happen. Different people spoke to me each time and gave me conflicting information. Competely disorganised and unprofessional company.

Dreadful Customer And Every Other Service

BuilderDepot are the worse company I have had the misfortune to deal with in years. After failing to delivery an order on the day they had promised they offerd to pay for a timed delivery the next day at 11am. I had workmen in who were relying on the delivery. It didn't come and after several calls, where people promised to get back to me but didn't, I was told it would definitely be there by 3. Again no delivery. Now it was 5. Still no delivery and still no one got back to me, I always had to ring them. Finally at the end of the day they said that 'the courier internet site hadn't been working which is why there were delays’. Ah, computer error! That old chestnut. The manager, Talk-to-the-Hand Forman said that there was nothing they could do, and that timed deliveries had no compensation or guarantee of any kind to underpin them. So just an empty promise then? Why did they only tell me at the end of the day there was 'computer malfunction?' If I had known earlier I could have sent the workmen home. Why did no-one get back to me when they promised? Why did no one in deliveries even answer the phone and I had to go through sales to get a pick up? When I asked the manager how to escalate my complaint he said to send an email to him and he would investigate!!! I said you've already told me you're not prepared to do anything, so why would I bother to email you exactly? Oh, that's the complains procedure, he said. They assured me that 'computer malfunction' happened only very rarely. Well it is the first time I have used this company, and for me it is a 100% f* up experience. It was my birthday and I had hoped it would all run smoothly, but no I had to make endless calls while trying to have a nice day out. All to no avail. It is now 8pm and I am not even sure if delivery has been made. Perhaps they had meant timed delivery by 11pm not 11am!

Dreadful!

I ordered 200 kg of cement/mortar mix for bricklaying and re-pointing

Two days later they delivered 200 kg of concrete instead. For days now I have been trying to contact them, there is no answer to any of the phone numbers, no reply to emails. I am left with product I have not ordered and no way of resolving this.

Avoid this builder merchant at all cost!
