Never Use Fareboom

If I knew how to have Fareboom investigated, I would. It is a total sham, unresponsive and will keep your money even if your flight no longer exists.

In January, I booked tickets through Fareboom for LOT Airline flights from Chicago to Tel Aviv on 10/6/23 and Cairo to Chicago on 10/24/23. Shortly thereafter, LOT sent me a message that the first leg of the return trip (Cairo to Warsaw) at 10 am was cancelled and gave the option to take a 2am flight instead or cancel. The change would make our trip last 25 hours. I contacted Fareboom about this saying that I wanted to cancel the return and book it with another carrier. Fareboom did not respond, so I got in touch with LOT again and was told that the agency had already accepted the change for me. I then returned to Fareboom to ask why and to try to make the arrangements I wanted. Since then I have been bouncing back and forth. Fareboom say only LOT can make the change; LOT says the responsibility is with the booker. The last I heard from Fareboom they told me LOT will only allow me to cancel after I take the departure trip, because maybe LOT will reinstate the original flight. LOT has never said it would do this. Also, I will have to pay $100 to Fareboom to change and $975 penalty to LOT for cancelling the rearrangement Fareboom made without contacting me. I spent days on the phone and email only to find out that I am going to lose over $2000 (I bought tickets for two) and pay even more to rebook on another carrier. Moreover, this all happened months before the trip, with plenty of time to change. Fareboom penalized me for something that was not my fault and gave me no help at all, just took my money.

I made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau while I was trying to resolve this problem Fareboom never responded to BBB's attempts to contact. STAY AWAY from FAREBOOM unless you want to lose your travel arrangements and you money too.

Absolutely Horrible

I booked flights that were cancelled due to COVID-19. I was not able to get a refund, just a credit which would have been no problem if I could actually use it. I spent over $1000 to get these flights booked. I am trying to book a flight to Cancun with my credit and Fareboom is trying to charge me over $300, more than the cost to book directly through an airline.

I am having the same issue with them. They don't want to apply the $1600 that I already paid for a trip that was canceled due to COVID. Just getting the run around.

Worst Ever Site And Customer Service

By far the worst customer service I have ever come across in my entire life. They cancelled my return flights just 48 hours before my trip began and blamed it on the airlines. In reality, the airlines didn't cancel the flights but it was Fareboom that completely jeopardized my travel plans. When asked, they didn't share reason for the cancellation or alternate options for the return flights. All I got was that my concern has been sent to ticketing department. All this just 48 hours before my departure. I had to cancel the entire itinerary and ask for refund because there was no return flights in it. It was completely Fareboom fault. They charged 97 dollar service fee for each ticket for the refund and And on top of this my refund doesn't even include an amount (680 dollars) which I paid as a fare difference for preponing one of my flights earlier.

Sneaky Wording - Unhelpful Customer Service

just purchase on your own.They tried to force me to keep a travel credit because covid instead of a getting a refund. They got away with it with sneaky wording, but after a couple of attempts from my end, I was able to squeeze one out of them...Anytime I spoke with customer service, they always referred me to the airline anyway. Again, just purchase through the airline - easier than dealing with this shady company.

I Would Highly Suggest Looking For Tickets With An

I would highly suggest looking for tickets with another travel agency. After looking on a flight aggregator site, Fareboom claimed the lowest prices on tickets for flights from ORD to VKO every day of December 2021. Every attempt made to select and buy these tickets resulted in a message, "The itinerary you selected earlier was just sold out. We found a similar available itinerary for the same price. Book it before it’s gone." After attempting to book six different dates and flights through Fareboom, every one resulted in this message. It has been my experience that all lowest prices posted by Fareboom are bait-and-switch offers.

Terrible service ..costumer service doest answer at all and don’t care . Have booked ticket 6 months in advance..there wore 3 times changes. It tuck me 4 days traveling from Austria to Newark. I tried not to accept the changes or to cancel months in advance but they did not accept (have all the email with costumer service) finely arrived in Toronto to take last flight to Newark by destination..but one hour before check in ticket was canceled..after couple of hours begging to go home I got i ticket from Toronto to Boston waiting time 11 hours ..next flight from Boston to Newark at 6:30 in the morning did not exit..tried to contact Fareboom they never answered never reply ..finally found another ticket and baggage disappear no one know no one cares ..the worst

Dont Use Fareboom

So I purchased a ticket last year from EWR to London for $140 dollars the airline changed my flight and due to COVID was given a credit for $140.00.

I wanted to use that credit to book a flight from EWR to Bogota for $94.00 and was told by FareBoom says I have to pay $269 to get that $94 dollar flight. Now what dumbe person in the world to pay $269 when you can get that same flight for $94.00 dollars directly with United. DONT USE FAREBOOM

They want to take my $140 dollars! Imagine doing this to millions of people! Don’t be that person! Don’t let them take your money

why you should not ever book a flight through this third party ☺️

We were in The UK when we found out our connecting flight home would stop (with a 14 hr layover) in a country that was HIGH risk for COVID. During a confirmed global pandemic. This flight home was not an option any more, due to them also closing their boarders.

When we asked to modify our flight, it was not an option. They told us to talk to the airline... who told us to talk to the 3rd party... and back and forth. After more than 24 hrs in another country with no confident route home, we each spent $400 on a new flight home that would have no layover.

It took us quite a while after returning home to confirm whether or not we would have a voucher for the Fareboom flight that we had “forfeited”.

Once we received confirmation of this we were satisfied.

UNTIL I was told now multiple times I can only use this voucher to book a new flight HOME FROM THE UK! This is ridiculous as we went round in circles trying to do this in the first place, we are now HOME from the UK and have no intentions of going back after just having been there. Fareboom is using a global pandemic to prey on customers who were in a horrible and frightening situation and will likely be making money due to numerous customers being completely unable to use their “vouchers” due to ridiculous limitations. I would not recommend this company at all.

Horrible Company- Do Not Book

This is the WORST, dirtiest, money hungry agency that I have ever encountered. We have saved very diligently for a trip to Europe 7/8-7/18/20 with our kids which would’ve been their first trip. Because of COVID we are Unable to travel. They issued a voucher good for one year which dosent work since we booked 1/20- our kids are school age and would need to travel in the summer. We have tried countless times to reach them over the phone to no avail. Their phone number constantly tells you to go through the website but the site tells you that you can get a voucher for a year. WE ARE IN THE MIDST OF A PANDEMIC!!! DO NOT BOOK WITH WITH AGENCY. I would like a personal phone call from him explaining why he is doing this to me and my family. You are a terrible person and hope will reap what you are doing to all of us in some way or other. Why don’t you speak up and voice to everyone what you are doing. You should go to prison!
