Be Careful Before You Book With This Company
We made a booking with this company and within 1hour after reading about the add one and the late collection and early return times immediately cancelled fully exacting the deposit to be refunded instantly but no we were told it would take 28 Working DAYS .In our opinion this is nothing less than away of making money by taking the interest of our money. Please make sure you read ALL the t+c before you book and then don't do it.We give 1 star as there is no facility to give less.
Sorry to hear that, they are probably the worst co.I ever dealt with.take it all the all the way and good lt
Too late for me unfortunately - rental cancelled without notice and nbow unable to contact them by phone or live chat. I Will be reporting them to Trading Standards and BBC's Watchdog program if they don't refund my money (£1,361) within the next 2 days!

No Hassle Motorhome Hire
My wife and I hired a Flash 03 motorhome from Unbeatable Hire, collecting our vehicle from the Glasgow depot. We were due to tour the Outer Hebrides, via Mallaig, and Skye.
The staff at the Glasgow depot were very helpful in getting us away early, as we had a long drive to our first campsite. They were very friendly and knowledgeable about the vehicle and gave us useful hints, particularly regarding getting the heating going. We didn't realise how much we were going to need it.
The vehicle was a 16 reg and in very good condition. Having done it once before, we were prepared for the initial shock of managing in a tight space. However large a vehicle you hire, it is always a bit scary at first, but once you get into a routine and learn to work around each other, it becomes much easier.
The vehicle drives very well and as long as you brake and corner with regard to the half done of luggage you brought, all will be well.
So, 900 miles later, we returned the vehicle without any serious incidents and again the staff were very relaxed and gave us the time and space to empty all our stuff back into our car.
The staff informed us about the 3rd party company that sends out the customer satisfaction survey and also organises the return of our deposit. We are mindful of others problems in this area but feel we know where to look and what to do.
So, in summary, no worries and a great experience.
Did you get a voucher for this?
Did you pay extra for early collection as we were told 3pm and when we arrived there’s were a few other people collecting so they were busy dealing with them. It was also getting dark so not ideal for inspection purposes.
I do have to say the staff at the yard were great although the company they work for have a terrible service.
This is the same company that o have reviewed about as the use a variety of names.
This company offers attractive deals although when you read the terms and conditions you soon realise the costs can escalate very easily. There is also no way of speaking to someone in the company, you have to email them and wait till they call back, if you miss the call like I did a few times you have to go through the email process again. They only give a 24hrs cooling of period. The also hold your £1250 deposit for 28 working days then go through a process of getting you to confirm amount due back then you need to wait a further 5 working days before you get it back. I had to wait 2 1/2 months to get the payment back!!!!
I would avoid booking through this company ever again! The full process stressed me out and I did not enjoy the experience at all as I was worrying about the costs that would incur, we did not use the smelly bathroom and the motor home was not to a good standard. The seating area that should have converted to a bed did not fit well either, luckily we did not requir the use of it.

Quick And Easy Rental Process
After the hire i can say this company is pretty decent. The reps at the Glasgow depot were thorough and helpful during the briefing, letting us know everything we needed to know to use the motorhome. we were given a 17 plate motorhome which was really nice and new and comfortable living space for 4 people. Although I am disappointed that the plugs in the motorhome do not work unless the vehicle is hooked up through the cable in campsites, i was expecting a battery to be able to power them even for smaller appliances like a laptop. Usb plugs work though. The utensils included were pretty annoying because they are not fully secured, just placed in the drawers stacked up which makes a lot of noice specially when you're driving in rougher roads, we had to dampen them with cloths and tissues to stop the rattling. what I liked was that it was surprisingly easy to drive, just be mindful of the size and be careful when driving in country roads specially with larger oncoming traffic passing by. it was economically ok, we spent about £150 for a 650 mile journey. i dont like the fact that i have to wait 28 days for the refund to return. it would be much greater value for money if the pick up time and return times were earlier and later respectively. Read the terms and conditions before going through booking to be aware of the things such as non insurable damages, state of vehicle upon return, excess charges, insurance charges and many more. Overall, i was skeptical at first but after our quick highland trip, this was perfect for our needs and did the job perfectly.

5-6 weeks later after returning I got it back, but not after countless chasing up and requesting my banks assistance. too much hassle I went through to get it back

Motorhome Hire
The vehicle was clean and ready to go when we got to the site. The staff was friendly and helpful. All instructions needed were provided and easily accessible within the motorhome itself. The interior was tidy and seating was comfortable and a pleasure to drive. The vehicle was nicely economical with diesel so didn't cost us too much for our four day holiday. Washing and cleaning facilities were great and even emptying the toilet was easy and mess free. I would certainly recommend this holiday company for anyone wanting a motorhome holiday. We will certainly consider using them again

Unbeatable Motorhome Hire
This was a really good deal (3 nights out of season). The van was nearly new, immaculate and very comfortable. There are two things to watch out for. Firstly make sure that you thoroughly check the outside condition of the van especially the plastic gas cover which is extremely flimsy and agree it's condition at the start. Secondly, it took two months to get the deposit sorted - make sure that you go through every step online. It is difficult to get to talk to anyone about getting it back - the lines are always not answered or busy.

Management Problems.
The payment process, and the checking process of multiple personal documents, all done over the internet (no idea how securely) was extremely long winded and unnecessarily complicated. I accidentally made a payment twice, as on the first attempt on UnbeatableHire’s website, it showed as having failed. On checking my bank statement and realising I’d paid double, I contacted the company immediately. Still waiting, 2 months later for an adequate response and a refund.
Just read another review about a lengthy delay to get damage deposit back. No surprise. Having recently completed the hire, I guess I’ve got this still to come!
All in all a pity, as the vehicle itself was great, the depot staff very helpful, and the handover very cordial.
There seem to be problems in this company’s management which are too big to ignore. I’d advise caution.

Attention
ATTENTION!!!
We hired a caravan which had a leaking roof. We naively assumed that the vehicles are checked and inspected beforehand, but we weren't that lucky.
So during the three days that rained our clothes were soaked, the floor had to be moped continuously and the wardrobes were useless. We called the emergency number for the company however no one replied.
When we returned the caravan and told the gentlemen at the return car park, he shrugged the whole thing off and said we should write a complaint.
More than two months after the return of the caravan we still haven't received our deposit of £1.300. We wrote emails, called the phones only to be met with ignorance, incompetence and inexcusable stupidity. I was never rude, never shouting and yet the people I talked to never seem to grasp my problem-which is -I would like to have my deposit back.
I was told that the deposit would be automatically transferred to my bank account after 28 working days. When that didn't happen I called and was told that it was my fault as I hadn't completed the link I was sent.
I replied that I hadn't received any link. The next day they sent me a link which I completed immediately.
Again I called to check the status of my deposit and was told I had to wait another 7 working days.
To this day I haven't received my deposit. I called numerous times only to be met with annoyance and inadequacy. The most frustrating thing of all is that the operators hang up on me. They tell me to wait to be transferred to a financial department and just hang up on me. That happened 3 times. After these incidents no one picks up the phone anymore.
So this is my story. If you don't want this to happen to you choose another company. This one can be proud with its stunningly poor service, amateurish attitude and incredibly low standards of quality.
For the sake of your sanity and finances CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY!!!

Difficulty Getting £1250 Depoit Back
Although we did enjoy our actual holiday and the pickup and drop off were friendly and efficient (although with limited English at pick up) our overall experience with Unbeatable Hire was not good at all.
Generally, the vehicle was in OK condition for a 4-year-old hired (2013) out motorhome. There were newer ones (2015 and 2016) at the depot so we must have got one of the oldest models they had.
We found that it had a leaking shower tray, broken bowls, tin opener broken and the batteries in TV remote were not working making the TV unusable.
They have seriously excessive amounts of additional charges.
£1250 security deposit, insurance excess deposit payment. They take admin charges for driver insurance surcharge (£9) and to return your own deposit (£15).
VAT is excluded from drivers insurance surcharge.
There were unacceptable delays in getting my deposit back even though there were no post-hire charges or any reason for delay (still not refunded 2 months after return - now threatening them with legal action).
The deposit refund link they provide clearly doesn't work and isn't intended to work.
In summary, avoid this company. The hire quote won't be the amount you pay and you will have difficulty getting the deposit back.
Read the 'Highway Robbey' blog by Steve Bishop (Google it) as it matches my experience and shows I'm not an isolated instance with this company.

Cambridge Motorhome Hire
Picked up the motorhome from the Cambridge deport from a very friendly and helpful guy. Explained everything and made sure I knew what I was doing. We headed off to Dover for the night and then to the castle the next day where it was a treat to be able to sit in the van and heat up soup on a very cold winters day. The heating in this van is fantastic so don't be put off doing a winter trip. After another night near Dover we headed back towards Cambridge via Tilbury Fort. Unfortunately, the wing tip indicator got smashed by driving too close to the hedge. This will cost us £63, which when you think about it seems a fair price for the unit and for a person to fit it. Much has been said about how long it takes to get the deposit back but this was explained to me, this time is needed to ensure all speeding fines, bridge crossing etc are in, which might be in Europe so I think it is understandable.

Great Value And Service
My first road trip in a motor home was very successful due to the overall very good customer service I received from unbeatable hire. The team at Barnsley were excellent and it was reassuring to know that they were there at the end of a mobile phone just in case any issues arose. None did and the motor home lived up to expectations with all its quality features and comforts. The online booking system was very efficient from start to finish. I would definitely use unbeatable hire again.
Q&A
Is unbeatable hire fair with their replacement costs charged for damaged items?
They are as fair as they see fit i'm afraid. Standard business practice.
Bottom line is these vehicles go through so much in one season and almost every customer does something to the vehicle. This ranges from any type of marking all the way to write off.
example:
A glass LED cover (in pre 2015 models) is £90 charge alone when broken or cracked. Why is it so high? Because it's a business and businesses do not want to lose money especially if someone else is at fault.
The £90 will be made up of costs with a small margine for profit.
Once you sign their dotted line then i'm afraid you play their game. Always, always read the Terms and Conditions.
(former employee)
This company is offering what seems to be a too good to be true investment scheme. Are they legitimate and trustworthy?
I took out Insurance Excess Waiver but it counts for nothing. When you check their terms and conditions which they happily quote at you after payment, nothing inside or outside the motorhome is insurable. Therefore, what is insurable? They declined to answer just stating 'refer to T&C's which you signed and are legally bound by'. Hopefully customers will complain to the consumer ombudsman and trading standards to finally put a stop to their methods of extorting money from customers. There are so many complaints on Google reviews (not Google+ where motorhome owners through their ownership scheme review), review centre.com (although we know they are offering Amazon vouchers to put 4 and 5 star reviews) and TripAdvisor (camper van hire in England thread). The public need to make complaints to regulators so their 'activities' can be looked into. The Guardian first mentioned them in 2012 when they used Motorholme name. Now they are also Unbeatable Hire, Hire Booking Centre Limited and National Motorhomes. I think the latter is their newest name so there are no negative views yet when you search for them - still all the same company. Latest review on the Guardian website.
Even the Guardian newspaper are aware of them.
