Stay Away Reporting To Trading Standards

After waiting 28 days for return of £1250 deposit and no contact I am sent this after chasing for weeks

Thu, 12/19/19 02:58:18 pm UTC Hello. How may I help you?    02:58:31 pm Can you please confirm my deposit will be paidI have answered all questions and haven't had any info from you to confirm it will beI have informed my credit card company who said they will be in contact with you     03:00:16 pm Due to ongoing issues with our merchant card provider, we are unable to process credit card payments nor deposit refunds at this time. Unfortunately due to this situation, Unbeatablehire is filing notice for insolvency.

We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

What to do now.

If you have paid a deposit in advance for a booking or paid a refundable deposit that had not been repaid, you can recover your payment(s) as follows.

Credit card payment.

All credit card payments are automatically protected and you have a legal right to a full refund. You should contact your card provider and quote that you wish to claim a refund under Section 75 of the consumer credit act.

Debit card payment.

If you paid via a debit card, you must claim a chargeback.

Chargeback is a mechanism for your card issuer to reclaim money from the retailer’s bank.

This can allow your card issuer to provide you with a refund due to Unbeatablehire Limited filing for insolvency.

How chargeback works

Chargeback claims should be addressed to your debit or credit card issuer, who in turn will put in a request to the merchant card providers bank.

The process for managing chargeback claims is determined by a set of rules from American Express, MasterCard or Visa.

There are no guarantees your issuer will be able to recover the money through chargeback.

Time limit

You should make a claim as soon as possible, as your card issuer usually needs to start the chargeback process within 120 days from when you made the transaction or when you were due to hire the motorhome.

Providing evidence

Your card issuer is required to provide evidence to the retailer’s bank to make a chargeback claim.

The evidence can be summarised in the form of a written letter or email from you or in a written form which the issuer fills in on your behalf following a discussion with you.

When you first contact your card issuer, you should provide the following information:

the name of the company you have paid money to (Unbeatablehire Limited)

the date you paid the money and how you paid it (over the phone or online)

a detailed description of the services you paid for (e.g. motorhome hire) and the hire collection date

what has gone wrong - the company has filed for administration

You should notify your card issuer of the insolvency practitioner

Alongside the form, the issuer may need to provide other evidence, and they may contact you after your first discussion with them.

Chargeback is not a legal right, unlike Section 75 Duration: 2m 37s

This company is shameful .

They have cancelled my reservation 12 days prior to Christmas ! Draw people in , persuade them to part with even more money and then ditch you at the last minute .

There is NO way of contacting them and they claim the lines are permanently too busy !!

I rented out my property over the Christmas period and I am now homeless .

I WILL attend each of the addresses I have for them and I WILL remove goods to the value of what they owe and more to compensate me for my trouble .

They are vile rats that benefit from creating misery and upset for others and especially families .

AVOID AT ALL COST

To update, the company was sold and is now registered as Vaaroom. Motorholme was the previous name to Hire Booking Centre, who are owned by Unbeatablehire, who are being considered the same as Motorhomehire Uk by the Administration company. This compnay is such a mess and trading under so many different names. How did you get on with your refund?

I am in a similar situation, it would be good to know what to expect! Have you had your money back? As the company is now in administration, the administrators have a duty to investigate the affairs of the company and the directors. The administrators are Anthony Batty & Co. Do you think it would be appropriate to contact them?

Do Not Use

Do not use you will be asking for your deposit back for months with no customers service. They won’t answer the phone unless you are booking. On line chat is the only way and even then if you show frustration they will not chat. I had to send over 15 emails no reply. A letter saying if I don’t get my money back I will be taking them to Court. Involved Trading Standards and Citizens Advice. As well as Visa disputes with bank. OMG i cannot believe how much frustration this has cause us.

Oh look another bad review!

Oh look another bad review!! How are these still in business with disgusting customer care such as theirs?!!!!

The campervan was fine! Getting your deposit back doesn’t exist!! DO NOT BOOK

WITH THEM , YOU WILL REGRET IT! ANY EXCUSE TO DELAY GETTING YOUR DEPOSIT BACK OR NOT REFUNDING YOU AT ALL!!!

£100 charge for being 11 minutes late ( reason for late arrival , changing out 8 month olds nappy! ) 11 minutes people??? I am livid ! Surely £25 every 15 minutes is more appropriate???

I have worked in customer service for most of my life and would never dream of

Treating customers this way!

Avoid At All Costs.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Pay a little more & go elsewhere.

This company caused so much anger and frustration, added to HOURS of trying to resolve issues because they genuinely do not care. I have been a company customer services director for 3 companies and simply cannot understand their blind arrogance and inept approach toward "customers".

They get 1 star because you cannot give 0. The constant add-ons, inability to communicate with them after booking by anything but "chat: where they keep you holding for ages (3 times it timed out), withholding deposit for over 2 months then blaming on card company, then trying to add admin fees. Vehicles are in terrible condition.

There OWN staff at Glasgow stated "we never get anyone back as company only want maximum profit & don't care if they never return" (this is recorded for proof). The list off issues is endless.

I cannot begin to stress that this company should be avoided at all costs. You WILL REGRET calling them...!!!

The Head Office Are Evasive - Go Elsewhere

The deal of £50/night was too good to be true and that will stick with me. Hard sales follow with emails daily - stuff that should be included were not, camper was poorly maintained and we had to take lots of photos. Now they claim the deposit has been returned but it hasn't, the live chat is close to useless and they wont supply any evidence from their side that the payment has been refunded.

No telephone number (that should have rung my warning bells - but hey ho, I will learn in future)

There is a contact number for the sales office if that helps anyone.

Absolute shambles...

I wish I had read reviews such as the ones on Trustpilot and Reviewcentre first.

Frankly - if they returned the deposits when they say they would they will get much better reviews. The staff at the collection centre were fine, its the head office that has issues.

A good marketing person and better financial management could turn this company around and make it a much better proposition

Having To Take Legal Route To Have Deposit Returned.

Not only would I not recommend to a friend, I wouldn't wish them on my enemy. Company couldn't be more helpful when we were enquiring on phone from Australia. The 'extras' packs they sign you up for after you book (and you book assuming basics like kitchen gear, power cable and hose are included), are totally pointless. They are included in the hire anyway; they aren't going to bother removing bike racks, dishes the between hires. We collect vehicle. Shabby to say the least, and dirty. No water in it and apparently no tap you can connect to, so you have to find somewhere offsite to do that on day 1. Instruction manual hidden away in cupboard. So many problems with this vehicle. Fridge not working, reversing light out etc. Suddenly the company can't deal with customers by phone, we have to use messaging service. Not one reply to messages. I use insulin and had no working fridge to store it in over our summer rental. I have lots of photographic evidence and phone records to support my claim.

Upon vehicle return we were signed off as everything being as it was rented, with 19l extra fuel. Assured that deposit would be in my bank in 28 days, as they need to make sure there are no traffic infringement fines. This is ridiculous as clearly the driver is fined, not the rental company. As we had overseas license our deposit was 2500 UK pounds. After 28 days, no return of deposit. To get your deposit returned you have to fill in online forms that repeatedly fail to submit. Nobody tells you this until you ask. And the longer they delay, the more interest they gain and you lose. When our forms finally submitted and my husband messaged them on the endlessly on hold online chat function, we were assured the money would be refunded in 4 days. It wasn't. Tomorrow we will begin legal action, as it will be 51 days of them holding on to our deposit.

Do Not Use This Company

This company from beginning to end have many many hidden charges. If you are desperate and you do end up having to hire a vehicle from them READ THE SMALL PRINT. They take about 2 months to return your deposit of £1,265.00 (i'm still waiting) and then they try to make additional charges from the deposit. Although when I returned the vehicle it was inspected and I was told everything was fine. When you ask them what these charges are for apparently it can take up to 5 days for them to respond to an email. I concluded it must be because of all the complaints they must get due to the excessive time to respond to an email.

I couldn't give a star rating as minus starts was not available.

I would never use this company again and I seriously advise no one else to as in the long run you end up paying twice the original hire. Not value for money at all and a ridiculous process of trying to get any answers from the company.
