The Sc-pm28 Is A Great Little Audio Unit, Perfect
The SC-PM28 is a great little audio unit, perfect for small areas. Looks very expensive and if it didn't have the Panasonic name on, then it could be seen as a more expensive unit. Excellent sound quality. One annoying thing, if you unplug it and then plug it in again, the screen flashes with all the features until you change the screen display on the remote.

I Love This Machine. The Panasonic Sc-pm28 Has Go
I love this machine. The Panasonic SC-PM28 has got everything I ask for including great sound, mp3, 5 CDs and stylish look. The only problem I have with this system is whenever the machine is on (even on standby) there is this hissing or humming sound coming inside the machine which I find to be quite annoying if I minimize the volume.

The Panasonic Sc-pm28 Micro System Is A Great Piec
The Panasonic SC-PM28 micro system is a great piece of kit but with some basic flaws. It boasts low standby power but I think most people would prefer the clock to stay on rather than save a penny on electricity. I also expected the last used cd tray to stay in place ready for use but the mechanism moves each time you power on and off causing uneccesary wear and tear. Also it does not remember which display was last chosen when playing mp3 cd. You would also think that if it can display titles and artists names that it would support cd text on normal audio cd,s. Other than that the unit is great.

I Am Very Pleased With The Panasonic Sc-pm28 Syste
I am very pleased with the Panasonic SC-PM28 system overall. The MP3 feature is nice and markers can be set for each disk so you can return to a specific track which is good for MP3 disks.
I am a little dissapointed that the clock does not display when the unit is in standby, and I am a little concerned that the main unit makes a quiet buzzing sound when it is on. I would love to hear from anyone else who has a system, to see if mine has a fault, or it is normal. ([email protected])
The sound can't be heard during the day, but at night with the volume at -50db it is quite noticable.
The radio can be set to record at specific times, and the wakeup and sleep functions are good.
All in all, fantastic value for money..
Addition to above, by Alex Hemp.
I sent the stereo away under warranty and it came back with a new, quiet transformer.

I've Been Using The Panasonic Sc-pm28 For Just A F
I've been using the Panasonic SC-PM28 for just a few days now and am satisfied overall. The unit has a quality feel - I actually dropped one of the speakers accidentally about 1 1/2 feet onto a hardwood floor and it had no effect. Sound quality is very good although preset EQ settings were mostly useless. All but one - the "high-note clarifying" setting - sounded worse than no EQ at all. The biggest disappointment was lack of any shuffle or random playback feature for MP3/WMA encoded CDs - a very serious shortcoming in my opinion. Instead, the manual describes a complicated process of renaming each file and folder to begin with a 3 digit number which will determine playback order. Who wants to do that with 160 songs on a CD?

I've Been Using This Unit For About A Week Now And
I've been using this unit for about a week now and I couldn't be more happy with it except for a few minor things.
The unit is absolutely amazing looking. The half-mirror finish is great and speakers are heavy and expensive feeling. The feature list is impressive, from the relatively quite and fast 5-disc changer to the large display (with Dimmer), to the logical and ease of use.
The sound quality is very good. Apart from the low background hissing sound that is present as soon as you raise the volume above Min (--), although you have to be sitting within a meter of the unit and in absolute quiet settings to hear it. This is the same problem encountered with most Sony units although I must say it is less apparent here with Panasonic. The preset EQs were nice although not very usable. The manual EQ (with Bass and Treble controls) is a good inclusion. The radio reception is good as well although I have this unit sitting next to a window with the FM antenna positioned well.
No inclusion of an eject button on the remote was a little disappointing however to make up for this Panasonic has made changing discs a breeze.
I paid $350 (CAD) for this unit, about 240 US, and I believe this unit to be a great value for the money.
