This LG GSA-4081B DVD writer is an 8X writer, 4X re-writer for dvd's; a 52X writer, 32X re-writer, and 52X reader for cd's. It comes with DVD X-Copy as well as Nero and a driver disk. The driver disk is uneccesary as Windows XP reads it correctly. The software is easy to use and it works great on Windows 98SE as well. I couldn't ask for a better burner. Definitely get your moneys worth compared to other brands that i have tried.
I agree, I have one too. I once got a coaster but I think it was because of some virtual dvd drive I have installed. This thing just keeps going. I have had two other burners from Teac and Asus. Both died several months after purchase and replacemant was a pain. So I decided to go for the cheap drive.
I bought one of these, dead out of the box, returned it to LG, after about 2 months they contacted me with an offer of a replacement LG GSA-4120B dual layer. The original wouldn't even switch up. not impressed with that particular model.
