Apple iMac 3.06GHz

I have owned this for about a year this is a very powerful machine. The Hardware is amazingly fast. The standards in this iMac are faster than the stuff in PC's right now that is sad. The Software is way more compatible than PC and get this no virus no slow boot up this is a great iMac PC has no chance what so ever!!

I've used PCs since they were first launched and there are always annoying niggles and for the first time I've invested in an iMAC. What a difference! First impression when I opened the box and just found a screen was "dammit they've not included the actual Mac, i'll have to go back to the shop". This turned to amazement when I realised the Mac was built into the screen and there was no box!!!!!! The keyboard is the best I've ever used and looks great, the mouse is excellent but why-oh-why can't you right click to get a sub-menu up? Installation could not have been easier including the internet which normally can be a pain. The iMAC adds a touch of class to everything it does, the preinstalled software is outstanding and there is a real emphasis on creativity and linking up the apps. It runs fast and the screen is many times better than any pc screen I've ever had, the backlighting makes it feel so much better in terms of brightness, quality and definition and of course there is the 27" size - which means you can have multiple apps open and see then properly. Using keyboard shortcuts is a must as there is not right click context menu available. BTW for anyone that get's stuck looking for the "On" button it's a flush round button on the back of the screen! The hardware has a clean minimalist feel and I urge you all to make the change, you won't regret it.

As expected, the Apple iMac 24-inch. 3.06GHz is an amazing machine and it lives up to all expectation. My comment about the DVD drive being sluggish - it is only with certain shiny DVDs that were cheap. The screen is a huge 24 inches. It is shiny which I was wary about but no - although you can get some reflection in the screen you don't even notice it once there is something up on the screen to look at! Use it for graphics - photography - its fantastic. Using BootCamp you can split the hard drive and install Windows on one drive. This is maybe contrary to many Mac users but there is some software you might want to use that is only available on Windows. It is good to have both systems installed so you can really keep up with what is going on in the world of technology! The latest Penryn operating system is much faster than the older iMacs and this computer is ALMOST as fast as Apple's giant - the Mac pro!
