Fast and clear graphics. I found it to be a very reliable computer, well recommend the toshiba satellite pro a100 as i have not yet really experienced any bad points, its performance to me seems faster than most new laptops in the 700 range.

I've had this laptop for about a year now and I was pretty satisfied with it at first because I wasn't doing much with it, but the wobbly screen (been there since the beginning), the scratching, and now with the broken charger I have to say I'm not all that pleased. And esthetically it is definitely lacking

For the price this is a great laptop, (I've recently seen a similar spec. one for £330 at play.com, amazing value); 80GB HDD, 1.7GHz processor, useful card reader , DVD burner and very good screen. So far the only problem I've had (touch wood!) is that it didn't write to CD/DVD at first, eventually discovered a hidden check-box in the depths of Windows that said 'Enable CD write'! Why would you want to disable the burner? Compared to what else you can get for the price this is a very good laptop.

I Have Written To The C.e.o.'s Of Toshiba America
I have written to the C.E.O.'s of Toshiba America and the Electronics division-- No answers yet, why no support. Another thing if you buy by Credit card make sure you don't want it sent somewhere besides your vacant home in the country while you are at work. None of our carriers get signatures anymore so if you would like a three thousand dollar computer sitting in your driveway, ask to use your credit card.

I bought the Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 laptop cheap on www.dabs.com, and it was pre-installed with Windows XP Home Edition.
While I'm impressed by the overall build quality, robustness, widescreen clarity and value for money, there are some limitations for Ubuntu Linux users. I know this system was specifically designed for Windows, but it would be nice if Toshiba offered additional driver support for other operating systems.
Firstly I was a little disappointed to discover a Phoenix BIOS installed. For Window users this will not pose a problem, but for Linux users beware. Fnfx or Toshiba Linux Utilities are not supported therefore Fn keys will not work.
Secondly, the battery life is extremely poor. Under Windows you'll have an approximate operational time of two hours, while Ubuntu Linux offers only one hour sixteen minutes!
Thirdly, the speakers sound a little scratchy and distorted beyond 50% volume, but this is easily overcome using external ones.
Recommended for Windows users, but not for Linux users.
