The A60 Has A Major Fault That It Over Heats Very

The a60 has a major fault that it over heats very easily and has an issue were it shuts off randomly and will then struggle to turn back on. Mine then after a spell of shutting it self off, now refuses to turn it's self on. After inspecting it it turns out the mother board had fried. I have heard of many cases of this with this same model. Apart from That major issue it served well for 4 years but is now a bit too out of date.

Awesome Laptop, Had It For A While Now, I Had Boug

Awesome laptop, had it for a while now, i had bought it with vista on it (So Windows 7 may work for it) and the performance was OK.. but we all know Windowss Vista is a performance hogger, so I put Windows XP SP3 on it and it worked like a charm! Although i am going to try to install Windows 7 on it. It's a shame about the graphics card (64mb) and the size of the HDD (40Gb) altough that doesnt bother me. Also the ram can only go up to roughly 1.28gb's. Which is more than enough to run any OS. :)

I would most definately reccomend this laptop to anyone, great performance, great look..

The Toshiba Satellite Pro A60 Is Good For Developm

The Toshiba Satellite Pro A60 is good for development but with win xp and home users instead of desk top.

The good thing is that it has desktop processor which is must faster so need to worry about the speed.

Heavy, no wifi, battery will gone after 4 years, no good for games.

Resolutions:

1. extend the ram first and you will see the big difference in speed.

2. use the ecternal wifi adopter or smart card

3. Buy the adopter which will hold the battery upto 4 hrs.

This is great little unit, I busted the lid hinge on one side but it still carries on after 4 years of service. Can't find a reason to change it yet

The Over Heating Can Be Easily Fixed In Seconds, R

The over heating can be easily fixed in seconds, remove top keyboard cover flap unscrew two keyboard screws, take out the keyboard (fold it over) remove 3 fan screws and take out the fan under there you will find loads and I mean loads of dust and fluff, well I did.

Remove and it will be great for another 4 years.

I Still Like My Laptop And Would Be Keeping It If

I still like my laptop and would be keeping it if it weren't for the RAM issue. I bought it as a student, and it was perfect for what I needed. I run many programs on it, (obviously not more than 2 at a time) including Photoshop7, Photopaint, CorelDraw 11, Microsoft Office, itunes and a load of other tat. It is an ideal as someone's first laptop, or if you want to write an essay whilst surfing the net and listening to music. (It can do it.....I did)

Disappointed That It Is So Slow And There Is Insuf

Disappointed that it is so slow and there is insufficient RAM to allow something as simple as the BT Yahoo Security package to work. More RAM so is required.

Nice Laptop, Bit Pricey Originally But Still Holdi

Nice laptop, bit pricey originally but still holding its own against some newer models. Recommended as a good laptop for students/home use.

Toshiba Need To Do Better With This One. Start-up

Toshiba need to do better with this one. Start-up screen says "In touch with tomorrow". But this machine is more interested in hanging on to the past. Performance is not refined enough for 3.0GHz class.
