I Push The Limits In Paperless Office Environment.

I push the limits in paperless office environment. I am a CPA and scan EVERYTHING clients bring in, which as wide of variety of documents as it gets. I need to archive and move through documents FAST, and did so happily with Paperport Pro 9. After 5 years of heavy duty use, I thought I would get a new scanner and pass my old one (Xerox Documate 250...a great machine!) to the staff. Well, the new scanner (Epson GT s-80) came with Paperport 11, so I thought I would be upgrading my software too. Well, surprise to me, this software is AWFUL! Sure, it has some new bells and whistles, like thumbnails when in a document, but the icons have been made smaller, resulting in slower cursor movement, and the software moves at the speed of a glacier! I was so frustrated on the first day of installation, that I finally benchtested it against my old software, as I run two computers side by side, and on the exact same document, it took 40 seconds to move through 25 pages on Paperport 11 versus just 5 seconds on Paperport 9. WARNING!!! If you want to slow down your productivity, go ahead and waste your time with Paperport 11. I'm uninstalling it as soon as I get off of here and re-installing my old Paperport 9.

Do You Have A Rating Less Than 1 ??? This Program

Do You have a rating less than 1 ??? This program is an insult to a 1 star rating.

I have used Paperport for years - waited for Vista Version - bought it.

Fool me once - shame on you!

Fool me twice - shame on me!

Paperport 12 crashes - it worked initially - them crashes from startup no matter what I try - installed & re-installed.

Problem was I was ill and didn't reuse it during the short warranty period.

Support is non-existent. No on-line updates or worthwhile help at all - not even a forum site.

Criminal that they still pedal this garbage!!!

Do not waste your time on this program. What a shame - earlier versions worked so well.

Thank you for this. I have used Paperport since the year dot. I am still on version 7 with XP, and it is great. However, now I have upgraded to Windows 7 professional, it looks as if I am stuffed. All the reports are so bad, and no drivers exist for the old Stobe Pro for Windows 7.

I can still run the original software in an XP emulator thank goodness.

I just wish they had kept the old format which was so good and flexible.

I guess I will just have to get a new scanner that works on the Windows 7 platform and save as PDF's. It is so sad when acompany takes over another, and then trashes the software, which in my opinion was a class leader.

Nuance Are Totally Disinterested In Supporting Ver

Nuance are totally disinterested in supporting Version 11 users for Windows 7. There is no upgrade path to Version 12, which is compatible with Windows 7, except to the professional version which costs more than a clean purchase of the standard product. When a company decides to treat it's customers in this way for me it is time to find an alternative. Utterly appalling customer service that in the long term will not serve them well

We Tried To Install Paperport On A Vista - 64 Bit

We tried to install Paperport on a Vista - 64 bit system, during the install, the setup crashed and we had to use up the free support call. Post install we find that documents load at a snail's pace. This is really disappointing considering the previous versions of the product. Would advice potential users to proceed with caution, you might want to weigh your options and look at alternatives such as Sohodox.

I'd Been Using Paperport Since Version 7. I've Go

I'd been using PaperPort since version 7. I've got document scans going back 15 years. With XP, I upgraded to v.9 and then v.10. V.10 doesn't work well with VISTA 64, although "it works" but causes registry problems (eventually). I upgraded to v.11 on a spare VISTA64 machine, and it seemed to be fine for several months, until I started using my registry cleanup tool. On the other machine, which according to my cleanup tool is in tip-top shape, v.12 wouldn't install. I was able to install it on the other machine after uninstalling v.11, but I've had problems with multi-document MAX to PDF format conversions -- "not responding" messages, etc.

My documents are important to me, and I'll be moving to another document management program. I don't like the "MAX" wrapper files in PaperPort. I DO like the "brightness/contrast" enhancement features, which more stable products like Presto! PageManager don't have. But at least, they're stable.

I Upgraded To Nuance Paperport 12 Professional Fro

I upgraded to Nuance Paperport 12 Professional from Paperport9 standard.

It crashed my system by corrupting video driver and a bunch of other things that I can't get sorted out. Now Paperport 11 doesn't run either. Avoid it if you don't want to ruin your day. I am going to find a way to scan and file documents without going near Nuance products again. The technical support call will be on your long distance call to Manila and the "uninstall" tool for both PP11 and PP12 have caused the damage

Be wise and find something else that will do the same job

Like Most Reviewers, I Too Used Paperport For Year

Like most reviewers, I too used Paperport for years, starting with an old Visioneer flatbed. It was really great, and consistently rated number one by magazines and reviewers. Yes, once Nuance got it, the first release, which was 11 and required by VISTA, was absolutely horrible. I spent days and tried to get assistance from Nuance. They only said I could get an upgrade. i spent I think 40-50 dollars to get it and go through their activation and could never get it to work. I purchased a new Canon scanner with CanoScan and arcsoft and it has worked very well after getting used to it. It functioned quite different than the old, Paperport, but like it very well. You have a lot of options and can select multiple pages (pdf) or scan to a defined program, ie Picasa, or word. Great

I Have Used Nuance Paperport 11 For About 10 Years

I have used Nuance PaperPort 11 for about 10 years, back to the days ScanSoft was the company. Ever since Nuance bought the company the software has taken a dive. I keep getting "not responding" messages, have to reboot and may or may not be able to keep scanning. They do not release updates in a timely manner, and forget about customer service. The cost is also high for a very marginal product. I'm looking for a replacement, enough is enough. By the way Nuance, I work for a Fortune 500 company and you are trying to sell me other software, forget it. You just lost the sale.
