Philips Onis Vox 300 I Have Had This Ph

PHILIPS ONIS VOX 300

I have had this phone for quite sometime and can honesty say that I would not purchase the updated version to this one.

The rubber keys becomes less functionable over a period of time which causes difficulty when making a call as you have to press very hard and even then the keys are not always reliable.

The quality in my opinion is very poor and is too light weight which make it feel cheap.

Will give it some credit, navigating through the phone isn't too bad but the volume could be alot alouder, especially when on hands free.

This phone wasn't cheap when I purchased it from Argo a few years back, what a disppointment Philips.

Well you don't always get what you pay for unfortunately now adays.

Dodgy Rubber Buttons On My Philips Onis 300 Vox Tu

Dodgy rubber buttons on my Philips Onis 300 Vox TU5351 become worse over time - you have to press some of them really hard then wait to see if it's worked or not. This makes dialling unreliable, as well as painfully slow, so i have come to dread calls including the robotic "enter your customer id, and password, and pin, and birthday, and sixteen digit card number, and number you first thought of". Pretty good in most respects for about a year, but now the troublesome buttons have made it simply useless.

As The Previous Reviewer Said, Its Not Worth Buyin

As the previous reviewer said, its not worth buying the Philips Onis 300 Vox TU5351 just for the SMS feature. You have to sign up to get a "big number". Friends then send their text to this big number, first making reference to your home number, then typing the message. Long winded, and big number doesn't tell you the price of the texts!

The handset screens are difficult to read at times. The text appears to float, and the shadow can become confusing.

The rotating menu selector at the side takes some getting used to.

The answer machine has no audible message alert, but the base unit light flashes, and each handset displays the answer machine icon. This is ok if the first thing you do is check the base unit or handset for messages.

The outgoing message is played each time you turn the answer machine on. Why would I want to hear my own message each time?

In conclusion, there are some bad points to this phone, and I don't think the SMS element is easy enough to use. Day to day use, however, is great once you've mastered the menu system. A good solid phone.
