4 Years Later

bought one of these in 2008 and it's still going strong, saved me a small fortune in razors creams etc, pain takes a little getting used to but is worth it. Best thing I ever bought!! 100/10

I Started Epilating With And Old Eplator And Then

I started epilating with and old eplator and then decided to switch to the Braun Silk Epil Xelle to see if I could get better results.

The epilator is very fast and easy to use, epilating allways hurts a bit but I agree that after a few uses the pain is less. The light in the epliator is quite useful.

I use it to epilate the legs, underarms and the beard (yes, the full beard since I am a man).

I have not had problems with ingrown hairs, my issue is however that the epilator many times seems to cut the hairs rather than pulling them, the result is that the hair grows back faster. This happens also when my wife uses it. In the face I got foliculitis at some point, but by using an after shave after epilating the problem has not returned.

Just Bought And Tried This Braun Silk Epil Xelle T

Just bought and tried this Braun Silk epil Xelle today. Works better than waxing, which had recently begun to leave large red lumps in my skin, some of which seem permanent. Stung a little, especially around the knees, but was very effective and left my legs silky, as promised. Didn't leave my skin as blotchy as waxing does, and overall looks great. One problem: it doesn't charge, and has to be plugged in via an adaptor with a shaver type plug. This means it can only really be used in the bathroom, cordless would be a definite advantage! It would have been nice if they had made clear on the packaging that there was no option to use cordless!

Like Other Reviewers I Was Fed Up Using Razors And

LIke other reviewers I was fed up using razors and cutting myself and after a nasty allergic reaction to a new hair removal cream and recommendation by a nurse I decided to treat myself to the Braun Silk epil Xelle 5270 as it was on special offer in Argos.

I must warn first timers it does feel like someone hitting your legs with a bunch of stinging nettles, but I started at the ankles, to aclimatise myself and to release hopefully natural endomorphin pain killers. Your legs go bright red after hair removal, but in the morning they were fine and I loved the smooth appearance. But, oh dear, when the hairs started to grow back they grew into my skin. I suffered dreadfully, I had red angry spots, some with infection. I surfed the net to solve this problem. I had to exfoliate with a scrub to slough off the dead skin and hopefully release the trapped hairs. I moisturised and bought a special spray from boots for ingrowing hairs. If I got goosepimples, from shivering, the pain was horrible, because the hairs were trapped and couldn't spring up. After many hot baths and scrubbing I eventually released the worst hairs with a sewing needle. I did try again, several times, after weeks of not shaving to allow the hair to grow. This time I exfoliated first, then applied the ingrowing hair solution for several days after, but I still got the problem. I no longer use the Braun and returned to shaving. My hair is quote dark and coarse, don't get me wrong, I am fair skinned and don't have any hormone problems. My leg hair resists depilatory creams and is quite stubbly, the epilator was definitely not for me.
