It created a similar ding to indicate that it was already hot. For added suspense, I selected the black styler.

This is AMAZING! By far the best - and I've used many! It straightens on the first pass through, has a 3m cord which swivels at the connection, is well balanced with a light weight to it so it feels nice in the hand and you don't get arm ache!

The blurb says it has Tri-zone technology which means that the plates heat uniformly and it is set at an optimum styling temperature of 185DC so these two features combined basically means that only one pass through is needed even on frizzy over processed hair like mine! Harrah! Because you're not having to do multiple pass throughs your not ruining (and essentially burning) your hair!

I've been using their Straight and Tame cream and Straight and Smooth spray also. By the time I've finished you wouldn't know what my pre straightened hair looked like! I'm just all sleek (or curly if I use the 'straightener' for that!) and glossy! (It's proper name appears to be 'styler' rather than 'straightener').

I really have nothing bad to say about this, they are top of the range and so come with a top of the range price tag, but they're not prohibitively expensive and I think well worth the money. There's also a thing where, when you get them, you can register them with GHD to verify their authenticity, (I assume to check you've not bought knock offs?!) and to back up the warranty.

Mine's white, they also come in black. I also have a case with heat resistant roll mat for putting them on.
