This is a fast professional-grade mid-range zoom for the full-frame (FF) Pentax K1 and future FF cameras (but will fit any other Pentax body). It is weather-sealed and the aperture is constant across the zoom range. It is one of the "Trinity" of Pentax FF F2.8 zoom lenses; this is the 24-70mm and the others are 15-30mm and 70-200mm. The optics and build quality are excellent, and considered superior to the more popular and considerably cheaper 28-105mm "kit" lens. It focuses quietly and with no hesitation on the K1. Expect to pay well over £1000.

The zoom range is not huge, but range is a trade-off with image quality. It is a big heavy lens, like a baked bean can! It weighs 780gm so on the K1 the total is about 1.8kg. The filter size is 82mm so equiping with a skylight and a polarising is quite an expense in itself. You need to be serious to carry this well-matched and excellent outfit around.
